I made my booking via the travel agents here in Scotland, once I have received the contract back from them and the date etc confirmed I then contacted the hotel. The hotel do not reply quickly as there priority are weddign takign place that they have now. I think Canadian brides have gone trought travel agents to for their weddings - Im sure they will reply and can advise you better than myself. Kirstin

There is NO requirement for any of the groom's documents to be translated or legalised this applies whether he HAS or HAS NOT been married before. If the bride has been married before and has reverted back to her maiden name, provided this is the name she travels on and is the name that is on her passport again there is NO requirement for any of the bride's documents to be translated or legalised Translation and legalistion is required is when a bride has divorced but kept her married name (Ive never heard of anyone doing this) Hope this helps Kirstin

You can book at any a la carte restaurant do it sooner rather than later so you get the time and date you want. We love the Japanese and Brazilian - don't eat much that day so you enjoy the meal & experience

Hi Danielle I have literally just received an email from Paloma saying I can get Tulum Gazabo as the othre bride has changed to Akumal - phew big sign of relief from us I didnt want the beach as although the location is away from the sunloungers, massage area and where you go swimmign in the sea you still get people coming along to see the weddings take place - not always a pretty sight. So from a privacy point of view I didnt want to get married there also the wind can be a bit mad there. At the Gazabo there is plenty privacy and a gorgeous area to go to on the beach for photos too. REgarding your documents provided your name on your passport and birth cert match they shuldnt need translated - see my post further up. All the best with your planning, had you added you name and details to the "Post your Wedding Date" link - its cool and good to see other brides that could be there the same time as you Kirstin x

You dont have to but you need to be on the ball when you arrive to get the restaurant you want as well as the time you want.

We have stayed at the Bahia in Mexico several times aswell as the hotel chain all over the world and we have always emailed in advance our a la carte reservations and they have been made without any hiccups. Dont see why you would have any problems - fingers crossed it is done for you x

Congrats on your upcoming wedding, bet you are gettting sooooooooooooooo excited. The WC are pretty strict with the times but this is purley because they have so many weddings going on. I have requested 4pm for our wedding at Tulum Gazebo but am waiting on this being confirmed as the couple who are booked for 2pm want to change to 4pm not sure why the WC said NO as it is the time I have However the reason the WC gave me for this possible change is that the couple are stayign at Tulum so they get first shout - we are staying at Akumal I was stressing not gettign replies to email so phoned and spoke to WC - was much easier and calmed me down.
