Not sure where you are travelling from, we are from Scotland and need to be there 4 days before wedding date. Thats ok as going for 2 week holiday x

I'm guessing you are taking your own photographer with you All the local photographers will advise and give you other options be it for wedding or Trash the Dress sessions. There are amazing beaches and denotes that they use. Tulum ruins are sacred hence no wedding party photos permitted, I have to say even if they were it would be a headache trying to get photos outwith the tourists visiting the site Even though it covers a large area it is a busy place. Hi Miriam Regarding entertainment everynight there is a show of some sort at the Theatre in each hotel (Akumal, Coba, Tulum) each Thursday is "Mexican Fiesta Party Night", this is held at the hacienda (only area not included in all inclusive package) You have to buy tickets for attending this it was around $15-$18 per person. It is a fun night and this is what we will be doing for our evening - 21 in total (this is why we choose Thursday wedding). In relation to guests staying at different sections dont worry we are the same, the resort is big but you wont loose them. In hindsight Im actually glad we have a bit of space and not all at Akumal. You can eat / drink at all the restaurants, snack bars, drinks bars and use all the gym/spa facilities, theatre irrelevant of where you are actually booked into - its the Bahia Hotel you are at and the different sections have names purley for the size of it and they are all slightly differnt layout. We prefer the Akumal beach but the Coba pool and pool snack bar as anytme we have been there NO kids which is my ideal. Hope this puts your mind at ease Kirstin x

Hi Nic You cannot get photos taken at Tulum Ruin for wedding day or trash the dress. We get married at Tulum Gazebo on 20 June this year - cannot wait, we are having a civil cermony. we are still finalising things which include deciding which restaurant we will have our meal at, all the choices and menus are delish so its a tough choice! We will have our speaches here - we are not having a poolside party. There are plenty others that have or are having these so will be able to give you guidance. Enjoy the journey Kirstin

Currenlty they have 4 weddings per day per hotel location - mental but they run it like clockwork.

It seems people are not takign the last post therefore things that have been added after the post they copy are being lost boo hiss

you need 150 posts before you can the people that regulate the site then check you have your posts before it is then authorised for you to download documents. I spent ages just reading posts best thing is to interact often so you can download sooner. I saying that there is so much help in all areas of wedding planning on this forum. Good Luck Kirstin x

Hi there We didnt send out Save the dates as we booked a holiday with 6 friends then decided they were who we would want to be at our wedding so added that afterwards. It then grew to as we told family and other friends. Our wedding was 13 months away when we asked the others if they would like to join us. Regarding gifts, we have bought toilet bags for each couple and will be filling them up with various things suitable for both (not sure of everything but wet wipes, gel handwash, mozzie repellant bangles, tissues, ibuprofen. The men are golfers so golf tee's for them) They will be given out before we go, we have also got personalised photoframes that we will take and have on the dinner table for each couple too. Cancun on a bus is bad enough journey time wise, let alone before and after drinking. For my Hen night we are going to have a bar crawl all round the hotel bars then head to Coco Bongos in Playa del Carmen - 20 minutes away,. The Coco Bongo's in Playa del Carmen is just as much fun as Cancun and there are other bars and clubs so plenty places to choose from. I am like you drinks, laugh and dancing. Kirstin x

Hi Miriam We are not having a poolside reception and will end up at one of the bars after our meal. Regarding playing guitar that sounds great I wouldnt have thought it an issue but you can never tell they call the shots and unfortunately charge for things at the drop of a hat

Hi Your wedding will be fine, the cost is for minimum of 20. Originally for ours there was only going to be myself, H2B and 6 guest - now we are myself, H2B and 19 guests (1 child hence the odd number. I booked the holiday for the original 8 and everyone else has booked their own. x

Sorry I cant help I know this is costly but when I was at my "really impatient stage" I called the hotel and spoke with the WC - she answered everythign there on the spot. When you call emphasise that you are calling from the UK - I called at 630pm our time. Good luck, let us know how you get on x
