Hi all We are just back yesterday from our holiday and superb wedding be it very emotional but everything ran like a dream. Jazmin & Karla the wedding coordinators were amazing. Rest assured any worries you have in the run up to your day will be for nothing. Yes your wedding meal is one from Bride & Grooms A La Carte Restaurants - from the UK staying for 2 weeks you get a total of 8 A La Cartes, you also use another for your Romantic Meal for 2 on a night and restaurant of your choice. There were 21 of us and we had 2 tables to the back of the restaurant and had our speaches before the meal - there was only 1 other table in the restaurant at the time (630pm meal) Will post full review later with a few photos, we used Arrecife and could not fault them in any way and even went ahead with DVD too. I've not been on here much of late as 9 weeks ago my darling mum was diagnosed with lung, bowel and brain cancer and sadly she passed away this week. We fly out to Mexico on Monday with very heavy hearts, our holiday and wedding is going to be different however my beautiful spirited dear mum and friend will be in our hearts and I'm sure her presence will be around us on the day.

Hi Mark and Elaine It all depends on where you are from in the world, your marital status - single, adopted, divorced and kept married name, divorced and back to maiden name, widow/widower there are so many different things. Below are the details we have received for our wedding at Bahia Principe Hotel - we are from Scotland, both divorced and I have reverted to my maiden name Bride & Groom must be at least 18 years of age at the time of the ceremony. Bride & Groom & 4 witnesses (2 each) must arrive to their hotel 4 business days prior to the legal wedding ceremony date in order to complete and process the necessary documents and for the Bride and Groom to get the blood tests carried out. NOTE Saturday and Sunday are not considered working days. BLOOD TESTS to determine blood type, HIV and STD also that bride and groom are not related. Tests must be taken in Mexico. At the Gran Bahia Principe resort there is a medical center which provides this service. The price of the blood test is 90 USD per person that will have to pay in cash. BIRTH CERTIFICATES BRIDE & GROOM ARE SINGLE & FROM UK - Provided their last names match to their parents name & passports the only documentation needed is Birth Certificate, Passport & Tourist cards. NO requirement for translation. If a bride or grooms former spouse is deceased then a copy of their death certificate is required. This is required for legal ceremonies only. VALID PASSPORTS They are mandatory for a legal wedding to be performed. Passports must be presented to the wedding coordinator at the time of the wedding meeting. This meeting must be 4 days prior the wedding date. Please send your scanned passports to the WC along with application paperwork. TOURIST CARDS These green cards are provided to all persons upon their arrival into Cancun’s International Airport. Names on Tourist Card and Passport MUST be the same. This card proves your legal stay in Mexico. Hi Jazmin emailed me the brochure of flowers and I have made my selection - with slight tweak. Have also chosen wedding cake style, chosen our restaurant & menu. The flowers on the table at the Gazebo (our wedding location) will get taken to the restaurant for table centre piece. We have an appt arranged with Jazmin 2 days after we arrive then we will go and get our bloods taken. She has advised that at this appt all details will be confirmed and if necessary changes (slight) can be made. Hope this assists x

When we were there 2 years ago we met another couple that had just been married and there was only 6 of them - bride, groom and 4 witnesses Not sure where you are from but with the UK packages the cost was still the same - maximum number 30 then you pay more for each extra person. We were originally going to have 10 of us going but it has jumped to 21 - cant wait. Hope this helps. Kirstin x

Happy Sunday ya'll I just got a reply from Jazim to the email I sent her last Sunday Mine was a big long email confirming all that had been arranged and any questions I had. She has answered everything so all I need to do is confirm my wedding bouquet. I had read on here that the groom can get his golf FOC for 1 round but she was unable to answer that but gace me the contact details for the Golf club so will get that sent off next. Yes we are going with Arrecife the resort photographer too. Lots of mixed reviews and I have looked at practically every photo they have taken via the website and Facebook page. I have also spoken with brides from all over the world that used Arrecife and there was mixed reports from them too but at the end of the day I want photos and the costs for the alternative are not what we budgeted either. Its gettign so close the days will start to fly past x

Hi Leanne we are from Scotland and have been advised that no local photographers are permitted into the Bahia Principe hotel grounds I have been in discussion with brides from the USA and Canada and they have advised they have paid to fly down their photographer from home. When they have been able to afford this cost Bride & Grooms will pay the photographer package they choose, plus the travel & hotel stay for the photographers chosen from home as well as $800 per day per photographer for taking the wedding photos, way expensive ! The hotel are making easy money at $800 per photographer if wedding parties are going with this option. Not sure what policies are at other hotels and I am not going to look as it will just make me mad if I discover other hotels allow local photographers - wish I had looked and questioned more about photographers before booking. Dont get me wrong, we have stayed at the hotel 3 times before and love everything about it - we wouldnt have booked our wedding here otherwise - just wish I knew all this about photographers before hand. Sadly we have been advised that the hotel does NOT permitted ANY photographers from Mexico into the hotel complex. Even if you fly in your own photographer you are then charged $800 dollars per photographer - easy money huh for the hotel! Thats a lot of additional expense. Wish I had looked more into the photographer side of things but hey hoe im sure we will be fine . .. plenty family and friends coming with us and im sure they will have some crazy shots.

Thanks Trish I knew it was a crazy price for people to take a photographer from home but not as much as that - GEEEZO !! I wish I could say it wold be cheaper but its not as we are in Scotland Awe well bang goes that thought. It would be far too much for us to pay

Oh me cant believe I am having 2nd and 3rd thoughts now with 17 weeks to go ........ Can any bride that got married at Bahia Principe in Mexico let me know if they booked a Mexican photographer to do their wedding photos how much the Bahia Principe charged for a day pass. After seeing what local Photographers packages are and the costs I am thinking about getting local photographer rather than Arrecife . . .
