  1. What is everyone doing for gift for their guests? We got personalized tumblers and key holders ... I don't know if I should do canvas bags. I worry that guests won't use them past the wedding or they bring their own beach bags anyways.
  2. So who has had a "surprise" shower here? Did they pull it off without you knowing??? I'm 99% sure that my family is doing one this weekend. There have been so many little things that have tipped me off. I'm just not sure whether it is today or tomorrow. Two sets of people have made plans with me on each day and I'm not sure which one is the one to get me there. This is so awkward!!!! Having to put on a "surprised" face ... and knowing what to wear!!! hahaha! I just don't know how I feel about these things! I think the only way they work if you do it way in advance of the wedding, when it is completely off the bride's radar!
  3. Beautiful!!! Definitely the natural waist! I don't think you need to do anything else to it. It's stunning!
  4. Yes, that would be great! I would love to know!
  5. I'm doing an old locket that my grandma gave me around my bouquet. She passed a few years ago and I want a piece of her with me! I also need a something borrowed! I'm hoping an Aunt of mine has some pearl drop earrings or something. I don't want to spend a ton of money on my bridal jewelry ... it will be too fancy and I probably won't wear it much after!
  6. Oh NO!!! I bought white underwear with blue rhinestones ... I better check and see if you can see the colour YIKES!
  7. I did make them! I had all of my girls come over and make them one evening. Then I decided to try a coloured pair. I actually have been really debating selling them! Here are my silver pair ... They are a bit more pearly in person.
  8. I LOVE the untucked look. We tried with ours, but it doesn't really look right with the shirts we have or something ... So ours are still white shirts and beige pants, still fairly simple. Would have loved to do Tommy Bahama, just too expensive for us! I noticed you are from Orangeville .... I'm marrying one of your people I was just there on the weekend for our Easter Dinner with his family! lol
  9. This might be my something blue .... I also made a silver pair! Gotta decide. My first order from Vista Print came today. I got oversized postcards for Menu/Thank You cards. Going to place these on top of the dinner plates. Then the room key/money holder came from ebay and the mini-card from Vista Print too. Super happy with the quality!
  10. Here is the look for the guys. My Fiancee with the tie ... although this is not the colour of tie. I'm looking for something with beige/peach/blush tones or mint green tones. His groomsmen will be wearing the same but no tie. Shirts from Banana Republic, Pants from Gap .... with coupons $47 for shirt, $50 for pants (tax included)!!!! Still looking for shoes now and belts.
  11. DJ mannia is booked outside the resort. He is very well known in Punta Cana and does a ton of weddings at the Majestic Resorts. He came highly recommended by other brides on here and on the majestic facebook group. Their company also exists in mexico I believe.
  12. So I finally have the main part of the men outfits done! We found shirts at Banana Republic and pants at the Gap. I think we are going to have them tuck in the shirt and wear with a belt. Now we need to choose footwear. We are undecided on Sandals or Closed Toe Loafer type shoes ... going barefoot for the ceremony. The clothing needs to be washed and steamed before we go. I don't know whether I should take it all to the dry cleaner or attempt to do it myself and save a few bucks? What do you all think? Have any of you found any nice ties? My fiancee wants to wear one. I've looked around but all of them are so dark ... no pastel or summer colours!
  13. We booked DJ mannia. Expensive, but I've heard he throws a party like no other. I think we are going to get sparklers too ($15 for 20 or something like that). He will MC the party. We're not going to do any games as time will be limited. I'm guessing we won't be done dinner until 8 or 8:30, which will only leave 2.5 hours for the party. We are not really asking anyone to officially do a speech, just my fiancee and I will do one together during dinner. They take up SOOOO much time. We will do a first dance and father/daughter and mother/son dance at the very beginning, followed by cake cutting at the party. Then people who aren't big on dancing can sit down and have dessert. I dunno ... I haven't really thought this far! haha What about you??? Any ideas?
  14. Hi Brides! I'm wanting to do signature drinks at some point during the wedding day (preference being the reception) ... Something Old, Something New, Something Blue, and Something Borrowed. I've made a sign that I want to display with the four drinks. If anyone has any advice on this. I'm trying to decide what drink package to choose for the private reception. I'm just beside myself on the cost of adding this. I can't believe they charge extra when we already at an all inclusive. If I choose the National Bar will they mix cocktails that don't require any liqueur ... just the basics? If I can't work it into the reception do you think I would be able to do it at our cocktail hour if I just put the sign on the bar and guests order the drinks themselves? Decisions ... decisions ....
  15. Congratulations!!!! So glad everything went as you expected it would. We can't wait to hear more about your week
  16. Thanks! I ordered them from ebay. Found some pastel colour ones. Hopefully they are just as good as the tags!
