We were afraid something like that might happen with our room so we decided to just go ahead and reserve the one we want. From this forum related to my resort, I have seen brides who never were able to get the upgrade, and others who got seriously upgraded to crazy big suites. Our package says room upgrade included, but only based on availability. So annoying. You would think that the money you spend at the resort just to get married warrants an upgrade. Anyways, I think the other ladies have given good advice. I mean people will understand the honeymoon suite. I dont think they'd be that freaked out by it. But I am sure it is totally frustrating. I would keep pressing them though for the one that you want. THere has to be a loop hole, or maybe a cancellation down the road. Just make it very clear that THAT room is what you were expecting and hopefully someone will figure it out!

Basically unless there is a serious event you will not be able to get your refund as it has been explained to me. If you decide to change your date, they will just move the deposit to that day, but if it is something as simple as you change your venue, they will not refund the deposit. I think the case you are talking about the bride ended up calling off the wedding and she was hassled for a while before they would refund her deposit. I have seen a case where they decided to get married in the states and so they were able (with a lot of hassle again) to use their deposit for the honeymoon trip to BBPD. But basically, no there is no refund as I understand it.

Miss Kay you can look at tropical pictures on Facebook and they have pictures of weddings on pier and rooftop deck. It was my understand that you cannot have your reception on the deck, but they change things all the time. Also there is no price difference. The judge and expenses for a civil ceremony are included in the packages but if you opt for symbolic you do not get a credit for not using those items.

I agree with everyone else, I dont think I would stress too much about these meetings. Our hotel wont even allow decorations at the rehearsal unless I reserve a private ballroom with a paid menu. (Ugh so annoying they want me to pay for all inclusive food every where I turn!) My mom and bridesmaids are throwing me a bridal shower/girls day and I think they are bringing decorations but they will be decorating my room balcony or if we get down there and find a nice place outside with tables and chairs...but other than that, just bringing stuff for the reception. Im like you ladies though, there are days I think Man Im pretty much done! Then all of a sudden I am like I havent got my dress altered, i have no jewelry, i forgot this, i forgot that. Great attitude! I think if the guests dont RSVP then its like they arent coming! I am in the same boat but am only making bags for the people who have RSVP and or I know from my TA who have booked (cause MANY guests who booked didnt RSVP but whatever!) I mean wedding tasks cannot go on forever! We gotta check the list off!!

Congrats Trish and Happy Planning! Does anyone know how much the video service is? I just realized I've never gotten any info on that service. Susanna said for groups under 20 you can get a reservation at steakhouse, seafood, Mexican or Japanese. So was just thinking if any of you ladies are having a girls/guys night out that could be perfect. I'm going to use that reservation for my bridal shower day since its just 17 women. Also when she says 30/bouquet does that mean if I sent her a picture of flowers that were more than roses she would charge more? Or just say no?

Hi Netty I think there are some goods and bads to having a TA. Goods: Guests can make a small deposit usually to lock in their room rate and then can make payments to the TA. You will always have a list of who is reserved and who isn't available Some TAs might help you communicate with the hotel in getting things taken care of such as a group check in, dinner reservations or maybe wedding stuff. TAs can keep track of things like airport transfers and when people are coming in and out. Some of the bad: TAs have to charge more to make a profit. So sites like resortvacationstogo etc will have much better deals on rooms always. Not sometimes but always. So if your guests are big travelers they will do price comparison and it can get very stressful. The push to have guests book right away. And dw guests sometimes need time to figure it out. But the threat of prices rising from the TA stresses them out. So you could end up with cancellations later. People might feel screwed seeing they are paying more just to be included in your TA wedding group. That's just from my own experience. Both bad and good...weddings are stressful and it just depends on how involved you want to be. I was available all the time for my guests to call me and have me check online prices cause our TA matched cheaper prices. I didn't mind at all because I wanted everyone to get the best price. But it was frustrating sometimes. I think as the bride you want to know it all usually. So not having a TA just means you will be the TA and I guess that's up to the person to decide of they want to or not. Good luck!! And congrats!
