  1. Not yet! I accidentally deleted the one i took the day i purchased it about two days after! Thats why i couldnt even remember what it looked like properly haha! But I have a fitting at the end of March so hopefully then! Youll have to post a professional one of yours after next friday!
  2. Okay I have a question for you ladies... I am trying to decide on jewelry now. My dress has a beading detail on the side which has pearls in it. I am wondering if I should go in the more traditional bridal pearl direction or go in more of a beachy-pearl style. I am normally more drawn to laid back items rather then serious jewels but since it is my wedding day I just don't know what to do. I asked my sisters and they are split! Does anyone have their jewelry picked out yet? Anyone go for more of a beachy-boho look rather then traditional with the jewelry?
  3. I agree don't stress! I sent out about 75 invites and have literally received about six RSVP's. Oh well. My TA does keep me updated weekly if people even reach out to her to book and obviously if they do. But I do understand the frustration- I am trying to order my welcome bag contents right now and the little kits and meds are one thing, but the bigger items that are more expensive I would rather just know the number so I dont over or under spend. (especially items that I cannot order later/personalized/ or go out of stock). I'm going through that with a bm right now who refuses to even answer my questions about her coming to the wedding or not. So im just going to assume she isnt coming and last week I got started on ordering my bm gifts. Not going to let it stress me out!
  4. Oh also did you notice any international charge fees from your credit company after paying for your wedding stuff at the resort?
  5. TDawn! Oh my goodness!! You looked amazing!!! So did your girls and guys!! I love the guys outfits! And you are right Bar H was gorgeously decorated! I do have a couple questions: Did you do the cocktail hour? If so how was the food? Did you get your hair done at the salon? It looked beautiful! The robes you ladies have- I just ordered those yesterday! Were they comfortable? I was worried since they were made out of cotton they might be a little stiff. Did you do any fun excursions? Were there any "surprise" costs- like for instance them quoting you a price previously and then changing it once you got there? Thanks in advance!!
  6. You are so right. I bought my dress in August and have not seen it since! I was having such bad dress regret it was stressing me out so much! My biggest thing was that it was too fancy for the beach. My FI one night even decided we should look online for another dress if i was that worried about it. One of the biggest factors in my dress regret was that it was not what I had imagined at all! Also I had to shop alone because we live away from family as FI is a contractor and we move around a bit. So I was just so scared that I had made the wrong choice. Well Tuesday I just happened to be in the town I bought the dress for an appt for my doggie and I decided I would go pay the rest of it off and look at the sample again. I am SO GLAD I did. Because it had been so long I had pictured it in my head wrong. I was thinking I had a certain material at the top that would be too fancy (the shiny silky material) but I swear if it wasnt chiffon and soft and beautiful! They asked me if I wanted to try it on again but I was looking like a hot mess that day running errands so I didnt want to ruin it! But now Im so excited to see my actual dress next month and I feel so much better knowing I have a clearer picture of it in my head...now I am on a jewelry hunt!
  7. Miss Jali- I had to reach out to them to get a confirmation for my deposit. Even then it was just a Yeah we got it, and wasn't until about two weeks later that i got an actual confirmation form. TRi- I emailed you cause i cant figure out how to attach docs on the private messages here! TDawn- Congratulations and sounds like it was a blast!
  8. Do you have an editable template for your design? Were you able to get the free business cards or since you had your own design you had to purchase the cards?
  9. Okay you are the DIY queen! So...question...does the thread have stretch? Do they seem fragile? And how did you size the different shoes sizes for your bridesmaids? I have a size 7.5 foot, but two of my bridesmaids wear 9's.
  10. Meg when you say you made a design then put it into word...where did you create the design? I am NOT computer savvy at all, but I would love to try to make these myself to save on money!
  11. Kel I wore the one strap for my sisters wedding two years ago and honestly it was SOOOO COMFORTABLE! It was so nice and my sisters sister-in-law was pregnant at the time too and she liked them as well. I thought the length might make us hot (we were outside of Fresno in July!) but actually it was breezy!
  12. Hi ladies wondering if any past brides could tell me...when you used your credit card to pay for your wedding stuff while at the resort did you get fined by Visa/Mastercard etc for an international percentage fee or because Barcelo's bank is in Miami did it not cost you the international fee?
  13. Love this thread! Now Im on etsy for the last two hours!!
  14. That totally sucks about the reception!! That should be a given when you have that many people!
  15. BTW I got my OOT bags from Weddingchicks...I may have already said this...but they have coupons and deals a bunch if you sign up for their email. They have gorgeous 10$ totes that would for sure be reused (im allllll about reusing stuff) but like at christmas they had an offer of 50% off. Also the dollar tree has plain bags that you could customize using vista print labels...I have seen that done on here a bunch.
  16. My FI picked out a perry ellis pants/vest from Macy's. (he has groomsmen from Alaska, so they pretty much have to order since we dont really have many stores up there)...He has them wearing dark gray pants, vest, white shirt with rolled up sleeves and a tie...then he will wear the same suit except in light gray and he bought the jacket. (His own preference, but he looks great in it!) It is sort of like this idea.... He bought them all white casual shoes like these as well...and my main color is peach, so they will have peach ties. He paid for the shoes and ties and the guys will pay for the pants, vest and shirt which brings their total to less than 150 each. There is another forum on here I cant remember the name but i think it is custom linen suits...They were great priced and everyone had great reviews on here from them..check it out. My FI just did not want linen. (He has been a groomsmen in two other DW and just didnt want to do it again I guess. I think he sees this type of suit more re-wearable later on).
  17. Newbride i havent had my wedding yet, but from reading this forum I can tell you I heard great reviews on the pesto chicken and the beef tenderloin. I dont remember anyone picking fish, but may have skipped that. If you are worried, during your meeting just ask to taste the ones you are trying to decide between.
  18. Only four months away now ladies!!! Wow time flew by! Okay so my FI had me make a spread sheet with EVERYTHING wedding related on it to see where we were with the budget. I did not want to do this originally (I was scared hah!) but it actually has helped me so much and has motivated me to start getting things bought and done so i can check them off without having a big sum catch up to us right before the wedding. AND it has challenged me (i love a challenge) to get rid of the 2000 over we were. We are now only 800.00 over!! And counting! So happy. This week we bought our plane tickets- found a great deal on first class (we have been looking almost daily since nov) so we got those and saved 600.00 off our original budget for those! I found a great site for 22 oz beer steins on etsy...she has great prices, designs for free, and made in USA...So ordered 50 personalized cups for my welcome bags. FI got our ceremony music all ready and has his reception playlist ready to continue to add to these next few months. We got FI's suit and some of the groomsmen have purchased theirs. We also purchased their shoes and had them shipped to each groomsmen. Oh I sent out my invites and have already received a few RSVP's! That feels great to be done with that. My bridesmaids and mom have taken over planning me a shower at the resort as well as the bach party. I set up our excursions through a wonderful group down in Punta Cana and we are all set for that except one fishing trip for the hubs. And now I am working on some DIY things so it doesnt get too rushed down the road! Would love to hear what you all have been up to!
  19. All the planning you ladies have done sounds great!! I especially love the RSVP on the invites! Such a great idea, but too late for me haha! Im using my wedding website to get guests to RSVP to the excursions/events planned. We are at an all inclusive though and I am also working with an amazing company that runs excursions- he basically had me just highlight a few of the excursions i thought some guests would want to do and then have aplanned day where they could sign up for it so that if a number of guests do feel like doing a certain one they can do it together rather than on separate days. I only have one actual excursion where i hope everyone will attend! Here is what my working schedule looks like Sat- guests arrive, Welcome cocktails after dinner (which is really just all meeting in the same place at the same time to enjoy our free drinks!) Sun- open, enjoy the resort day! Mon- afternoon sunset happy hour cruise including snorkeling and a champagne toast during sunset. (THis is the one i hope everyone will go) Tues- Bach parties at night so open all day unless the guys want to go fishing or golfing Wed- Ziplining or Dolphin swim or of course hanging at the resort, then that night is a rehearsal dinner for everyone Thurs- Wedding Fri- Unsure Sat- Homebound! Guests can do whatever they want really, it is up to them. I just wanted to work with this excursion company cause he has way better prices then the hotel and I have heard personally great reviews about his services. But it isnt expected...like I know my sisters and I want to swim with dolphins, but I can guarantee my uncle does not! haha. So really just hoping everyone will make it their own vacation, but that i wouldnt be slacking on things to do for us together!
  20. I know this might cause confusion as they tend to give different prices to everyone...but this is what I got a few days ago for the "Extras" Tiffany chairs---- $12usd each · Tiki lights ---LED torch around $25usd each · LED Lighting $70usd each · LED light under reception table $70usd each Crazy hour:$1330usd Belly dancers: $715usd Fire show:$615usd Violinist:$615usd per hour Path with flowers pomander:$595usd Includes 6 Base plates:$10usd each Cigar roller: please find attached packages Color napkins: $4usd each Garden chairs: $10usd each Lounge area for 25 pax: $670usd Honestly I dont even know what half of them are or where they would be used, but thats the list we got. Hope that helps some.
  21. Trivera I feel your pain!! I just got a list of 2013 extras and prices and it is like WHAT???!!! After getting info on here it just is driving me crazy. They need ONE booklet they give to every bride with the prices! Since apparently they make up different prices and what it includeds for every bride- here is what my basic DJ was described... He will have all his equipment, we have requested he play our iPod list mainly, he will do intros/first dance warnings/etc- all emcee stuff is included and the 800.00 is total for three hours with 236.00 quoted to add for an extra hour. The fireworks- my best guess is on their fb page they have this beautiful picture of a couple while at their bar H reception and they are standing next to two "standing" fireworks.
