  1. Gee, that is kinda scary. I've been trying to search for reviews on him but have not been able to find any horror stories other than yours. I probably should have done the tutorial about special features on this site rather than just jumping in "without getting my feet wet first". Thanks so much for the info!
  2. Great pics and great tips! I was thinking of having a bonfire after the wedding dinner since we also planned to have our dinner (not private) at Casablah and no reception. I was not planning on having music at the bonfire because there may be speeches and I also wanted the fire dancer for entertainment. I'm surprised that the hotel doesn't do anything to help make your bonfire private! I don't want strangers hanging out at my "wedding reception/bonfire"!!! I think I will tell Nicole I will only order a bonfire if they put in an effort to keep the riffraff out. Good to know about the fire dancer too! Hmmmm.... decisions, decisions! The coreographed dance looks like it was great fun. I bet it was a good bonding experience for the wedding party. I'm glad you had your perfect day. You looked beautiful!
  3. So what are the horror stories about Guy Godfrey? I searched this site and the only thing I found out about him is that he calls you all of the time. You also have to send $ via Western Union. Does anyone have anything else to add? I was planning on using him but I would like to know if there were other issues with him. Please, please, please let me know. Thanks!
  4. Wow! I wish I was your friend and that I went to your wedding!! I don't know what you do for a living but you know you could easily change careers and duplicate what you did for your wedding and just customize the duplication for all of the other brides. Holy cow, that looks like a LOT of work and and a lot of creative thinking/planning/researching, etc. I bet your wedding will be talked about by all of your guests for years to come! Congratulations! Great job! Beautiful dress!
  5. Okay, this is in reply to MrsTGunn. I'm still not that familiar with the workings of this site.
  6. The same thing happened to me but not a pic from my wedding. My dog walker was a journalist for the Toronto Star. She did an article on me and there was a photographer who took a picture of me with my (ex)husband outside of my house. My ex had just come home from a nightclub and was still wearing the clothes from the night before! Nice! I later find out he cheated on me that night. I immediately filed for divorce. Not only was that picture almost half a page in the Toronto Star New in Homes section, it was also used by the Goverment of Canada to promote Canada Savings Bonds all over Canada!!!! This promotional material was on the Internet, in brochures in all of the banks and where ever else Canada Savings Bonds are marketed. So not impressed. An invasion of privacy yes, but to look on the bright side, at least your picture was beautiful and in a fancy schmancy upscale magazine.
  7. Beautiful pics and great review! You didn't mention who you used for a photographer. Was it Digipix? Also I would love to see pics of the lanterns you hung at the dinner. I think I'm going to steal your decor ideas for my wedding there in November. I loved the "F" cake!! It was good for a laugh. I hope you got at least a partial refund on that. Your dress looked beautiful too. I'd love to see more pics when you get around to posting them! Take care, Jaqui
