Post your OOT Bag Photos!
Kasey04 replied to LCBride2007's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
It looks like our weddings are just about a week apart! After reading all of these posts, I have decided that I'm going to start buying things now and hope for the best. I have 15 confirmed guests. I think I'm going to make like 20-22 bags. If, god for bid I don't have enough stuff, I'll have my mom or sister give up their bags. They are already getting some nice presents from me anyways! I think I would rather guess conservatively and save money rather than over guess and have 20 of the same bags, mugs, etc. But I can also see the benefit in having a safety net! -
Thank you so much for posting this. I'm excited to check them out. I sometimes worry about submitting my information for a wedding giveaway, because I wonder if it's just a scam so people spam the heck out of your inbox. Have you run into this?

2013 Majestic Elegance Brides
Kasey04 replied to MissBubbles205's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
This is a great question! I've been through three wedding planners now (I feel like I'm a curse to these poor women, lol) so it's been difficult for me to get answers to many of my questions. I would love to have some sort of bonfire or welcome party! My FI suggested we do an afternoon at the beach and make two teams out of our guests (maybe be have awesomely dorky t-shirts made) and have a tournement of games like sand volleyball, frisbee, etc. Do you guys think the average wedding guest would think it's fun or lame? -
Me in my dress

Oh my goodness!!! Your dress is absolutely stunning!! -
Oh wow! Congrats on all your winnings! Funny story. I never win anything either. I went to my first bridal show and signed up for anything and everything. I get a call from a photographer saying that they picked my name out and I had won a photography package worth $1500 for only $500. Silly me got so excited! Then my phone rings again from a florist who had "drew my name" and I had won a discount from them. I then realized that I hadn't actually "won" anything. But I had to give it to them, I totally fell for it and would have booked with them just because I "won" something

lol too funny! I'm not a fan of "hubby" but I HATE the word "wifey". It sounds stupid and I will punch the "hubby" in his face if he uses it, lol! I also hate the word "bestie", and I feel like the only person in the world to be so annoyed with it!

Funny: Groom too drunk to wed, brother steps in
Kasey04 replied to Jessica's topic in Just venting or funnies
hahahaha! I hate to be the bride that tells her FI he can't have anything to drink before the ceremony. But my poor husband to be has the tolerance of a high school girl (thank god he's not on here, lol) and I fear that two drinks will send him over the edge! -
Congratulations on your engagement!! I would also like to know what other brides are saying for their ring exchange. I like the idea of "modernizing" and "personalizing" our ceremony.

I love this thread! Although I also agree, it's a pain to have to wait until 150 posts to download files. I have been on here, no joke, over six months but I spend SO much time reading all the posts I don't have time to reply to any of them! I would love for you all to keep posting pics of how you are formatting the phrases to give to guests! I'm interested to see how people are designing their pages with all the different phrases!

Love my bags from Vistaprint!
Kasey04 replied to Dawn Grobe's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I love your bag! I haven't ever used vistaprint...did you design the picture yourself and they printed it on the bag? -
I always feel like such a pain in the a** when I jump on bandwagons like this, but do you think you could send it to me? [email protected] This will be perfect for my first aid kit I'm putting together! Thank you so much!

Post your OOT Bag Photos!
Kasey04 replied to LCBride2007's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
All of the bags on here are absolutely adorable! I can't wait to start making mine. If I got any of these bags when I was attending a wedding I would be so touched! Question - How far in advance did you guys purchase the bags and contents? I'm getting married in December, but I'm afraid that people will come out of the woodwork between now and then and decide to come to the wedding. How and when do you estimate how many to order without going way overboard? -

MUST HAVE WEDDING PHOTOS - LIST
Kasey04 replied to OceanPhoto's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I realize that this might make me sound completely crazy! But I have had a ton of fun creating my "photographry look book". There are so many pictures on here, or pinterest, or other photography sites that I love and want to replicate during my wedding. So I've been saving my favorite images, printing them out, and putting them into a book to show my photographers when I get down there. I thought that would be easier than trying to explain what poses I thought were cute. Of course I want my own unique images as well, but I think the book would also show the photographer what my overall style is! -
I'm so glad I saw this post! I love the idea of a mother/daughter dance. My mother is a single parent and I think it would really mean the world to her to surprise her with a special dance. I agree with MelB though when I wonder, do you think people would think it would be weird? Two women slow dancing together? Also not trying to offend same sex partners, whom I support 100%!

I know what you mean, it can start to feel overwhelming at the beginning. The good thing is that you have plenty of time, trust me! I agree with Shara, you should start with finding a travel agent. I know that there are several on here that specialize in Destination Weddings. Also, you may want to look to see if you can find any local travel agents that have experience in destination weddings. Start making out your guest list and have a friend or family member help you track down the addresses. In terms of save the dates, I did it a little differently. About 11 months out I created a full blown invitation in the form of a passport booklet with all of the information for the ceremony, reception, resort, etc. That served as my save the dates and invitation (also saved a fortune because i did it myself!). As the time got closer, whoever hadn't contacted my travel agent, I made up a cute flyer with more information about the resort and a nice reminder that the rooms book up fast. Once the save the dates/invitations were sent out, it was smooth sailing from there. I had time to research photographers and videographers, and booked them pretty easily. I've got my dress and bridesmaids dresses. I'm having fun perusing the forums for fun DIY projects and ideas for my guests to do while at the resort. It's just the fun stuff now. I don't think I have permission yet to post pictures on here, but I would be more than happy to email you the pictures I've taken of the invitations or anything else I have.

I'm so sorry it took so long for me to respond! Work and life got super hectic! I think things have finally slowed down enough to get back to wedding planning! We are arriving Friday Nov. 29 and staying until Dec. 7th. Our actual wedding will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 4. Then we will be moving to another resort for a week for our honeymoon. It's so cool to meet someone that will be there during our stay! Right now it looks like I'm having around 15 people total. I am SO torn on something, and I would love any and all suggestions! We are having a non-private dinner in one of the restaurants. Afterwards, I have reserved the poolside bar for a private reception with DJ and dancing. Here is my dilemma...I was hoping more guests would be coming. Now that we have a total of 15 (that includes me & fiance) it seems almost silly to have a dj and dancing with so few people. But I have no idea what else we would do to celebrate as a group? I just don't want it to feel awkward with so few people on a dance floor (because of course not everyone will be out there). Any thoughts or suggestions?

It is so confusing! It took me forever to get it. When you're looking at the sheet, it talks about a private reception "custom" and then a reception "package". Depending on how many people you are having and what you are wanting, either option might work best. In the pre-packaged you get the location, basic set up, sound system to play your own music, and national open bar for all of your guests. For me, I didn't care for the selection on the national open bar and I wanted a live DJ/MC to control the music. So I went with the custom package. We are renting the space for $300, the cocktail package (instead of national open bar) for $4 per person per hour, 1 bartender for $10/hr, DJ for $550, 2 wireless mics for speeches for $30 each, and the screen and projector for $290. We aren't too worried about the light up dance floor and some of the other options. Although after some consideration, we might have to go with one of the decoration packages so that I don't have to worry about putting someone in charge of going in and decorating the tables (although it's SO expensive!!) oh....and depending on the budget and my ability to convince my fiancé ....we might hire the fire dancers

It's so funny that you posted this question! I have subscribed to this thread but haven't been on here for months and just happened to click on it today I have confirmed my date at the majestic on 12-4-13, symbolic 5pm on the beach. We are very concerned about cost as well so we were going to skip the reception. After doing some thinking we have decided to have the ceremony, a non private dinner, and then a private 3 hr reception at the parrots bar. With the package, renting the pool side area, and a dj it was only like $3000 all together which I didn't think was terrible. And we thought it would be worth it to give our guests a small private party and we could have the traditional speeches, first dance, etc hope this helps!!
