Jenn, There's a tread for Beaches Turks & Caicos and it has tons of info! I'm getting married there next June and feel your pain. It is cheaper for us to get married there than to have a ceremony at home, but it's still not "cheap" per se. It's going to cost us about $20K vs $45+ and we will have less people. That grand total includes our travel arrangements, since we will stay there for our honeymoon as well. Feel free o ask any other questions and I will try to help. We are not getting married before hand, but I suppose you could. We will just do it all right there.

Thanks ladies! I like the boy shorts undies, they are my faves so I will wear my white ones as well. As for a strapless I will just have it in my bag. I am a little nervous about the whole fitting room thing so I also have an appointment next week for a bikini wax! I'm overdue for one, so what better excuse! Uh oh! That makes me nervous. I received a call directly from a wedding person with Beaches after we booked with our TA and I set up the appointment myself. I have to look for the paper with the lady's information, but I specifically asked her who I could reach out to if I don't have a satisfactory initial phone call and she told me to reach out to her. I have reached the point where I'm telling people that they have all of the information and it's up to them. I can't don anything more than what I've done so far to make the process easier. They don't realize that this is a lot of work and it's stressful regardless of it being a destination wedding or local. Just let them roll off your back!

So my save the dates have finally gone out and people are getting them and contacting me. However, they are starting to irritate me ALREADY! First I wasn't going to use a TA, but now I am since soooo many people thought I should and it would help them out to get on payment plans. Now that they have the information, everyone is asking all of these questions and saying that they're going to book on their own! So, now I feel stuck. I'm trying to encourage them to use the TA and just book through the group because it will help us pay for the wedding with the various incentives but they seem to have better ideas. And they're asking me questions about airfare although I said on the STD and on our website that the airfare for that time of June 2013 is not available yet. How much clearer can I make it? Needless to say, I'm already feeling like I want to cry and give up on the whole thing. People are unbelievable. They harassed me for 2 months about freaking save the dates because they just HAD TO HAVE the information for their personal PLANNING PURPOSES, but then they get it and don't want to use it. This sucks and I'm venting.

Hi Erika, My fiancee and I have decided to get married in the Turks & Caicos instead. I read some highly unfavorable reviews about the Wyndham and changed my mind, it was a very emotional decision for me with lots of tears and frustration involved. I must say that I made contact with the wedding team and they were very quick about addressing my concerns but I had already made up my mind. I also spoke to a bride who had gotten married there just a few months before and she had favorable reviews about her experience there. It's a very mixed bag and wasn't an easy decision. When is your wedding? Who is your wedding coordinator? I was working with Lisa Harris and she is the BEST, but I think she will be leaving the company at the end of this month or has already left. Wendy, Thanks sooooo much for that wonderful response! I'm glad to hear about the towels, that's one less thing to worry about. As for the reception stuff, I don't know if I'm going to tell them I have my own decor until I get there I have a wedding team traveling who can take care of setting up the tables in our vision, if Beaches wants to charge for additional setup. I know we are going to have to pay for additional tables because we will have lots of people and children attending. I don't have my initial phone conference until August so there's time for me to formulate my plan I guess! Were they going to charge you for having favors to give your guests? That's absurd if that's the case. I will work around that as well! But thanks again, very useful info.

For all of you past brides, I have some more questions. First, I think I already asked but will ask again, did Beaches provide wash cloths in the rooms? I know in some countries they are not provided so I wanted to know in advance so I can either include them in the OOT bags or just tell everyone. Second, for the reception table set-up were you able to bring your own centerpieces? I am expecting a pretty big guest list so I wanted to do something a little different for each table. I don't want to pay Beaches $500/table for decorations that match their pre-selected wedding themes. I would like to bring my own stuff and have one of my friends do the set-up before the ceremony and everything starts. Thanks!

Thanks for the information ladies. I can only hope that I will not have this as a worry next year. I hope that any bride with a wedding within the next week is able to find an appropriate solution. My heart goes out to their frazzled nerves.

I'm trying to play around with the packing list and print it. How did you print yours? I've tried to upload to vista print on a rack card but I can't get the dimensions right. Can you help?

Unfortunately I do not have a DJ, I'm sorry. We have actually changed the location of our wedding after receiving some very unfavorable reviews of the hotel property. It was enough to make me change my mind, and I did not get to the DJ point yet. I'm sure Dominique can help you when she resurfaces on the board. Good luck!

I won't be able to make that date unfortunately. I will be in Vegas that weekend, so if you ladies do it I hope you have a blast! Maybe we can try for another one later this summer or fall.

I am so OCD about everything, so the reason I was looking at the stamps was because I didn't want the label to be white on a navy blue envelope or something like that. I can just run them through my printer, I'm just trying to streamline my process! I will most definitely use my mailing address, because I am convinced that his house is the place where your lost socks from the dryer go! It never makes sense how he misplaces things and he lives alone so he can't blame anyone else! Oh well.

Thanks so much, I kind of had the same thought but you know how you second guess yourself every step of the way? I just needed validation from someone else that it was ok for me to just put my information on the invitations. I was thinking that people would expect me to put the both of us on there, although they know we don't live together or even in the same state!
