  1. Well the wedding shop at the Knot is having a 3 day sale and the paper parasols are on sale for $3.99 each and they have a good variety of colors. I bought them for my girls last night and got a white one for myself!
  2. The Knot Wedding Shop has the bride and bridesmaids rhinestone tanks on sale for $9.99! I'm getting mine now so it's one more thing checked off the list!
  3. Ladies, Right now on The Knot wedding shop, they are having a really good sale. The paper parasols are $3.99 each! I am ordering mine today! Just thought I would share.
  4. RachelBride- I plan to do personalized sand dollars with a tag of some sort with the wedding info. It will be a magnet. But if you are doing an OOT bag, that could be your favor as well!
  5. I am so excited and inspired reading your planning thread! AWESOME job so far. I need to get craking on my own DIY stuff.
  6. Very nice! I am envious of the fact that you can do your own calligraphy. I would love to do it for my actual invitations, but I just don't have the time to practice and perfect it the way I see it in my head. Anyway, very nice!
  7. So I attended a Bridal Salon event in NYC earlier in the summer and was overwhelmed with all of the choices! While there, I saw a company called The Guestbook Store and fell in love! They were really nice people and their guestbooks were very cute. I considered going DIY with the guestbook, but figured I had enough on my plate. This was really cute and I loved their selections, plus they have inserts for all types of occasions to include the shower. Anyway, I just got mine in the mail and I LOVE IT! The pages are cute and are totally going to be an activity for the guests during the wedding. I have a coupon code for the Guestbook Store in case any of you want to purchase. I would recommend checking out their Facebook page for all sorts of ideas, I am very pleased with this purchase. www.guestbookstore.com I will attach a picture once I find my camera, or phone, whichever I find first!
  8. I am also thinking of getting these tumblers. I am waiting for a really good coupon code to come out for discount mugs before I order. I do not think that we will put our logo on the cup though. I will probably get a removable/waterproof sticker with the logo on it.
  9. I will take these if they are still available
  10. Well I believe that you can fill them with whatever liquid you like, just need to have a spout or a funnel I guess. To me, the easiest way to wash them out is to rinse with soap and water and probably just have them expanded upside down to drain the water. I'm sure my guests will use them for various adult drinks! They do save a tremendous amount of space and are so light!! We will attach them to the handle on the OOT bags so people will know how it works. I will also order some cards from vistaprint with instructions on how to use them. I ordered our bottles from www.qualitylogoproducts.com but I'm sure you can shop around. I just so happened to catch a special they were having one night so I ordered.
  11. I actually ordered some for our OOT bags because I was worried about space and weight. They're great and I think it's something that we will all use again after the wedding!
  12. I have purchased both. The reason being, I wanted to ensure that everything that I purchase related to the wedding is covered, to include the resort, photographers, DJ, etc. I don't want to lose any of the deposits or purchases paid in full in the event of any emergency. I purchased travel insurance because that will cover the flights and the actual stay at the resort. I am pretty certain that travel insurance does not cover the wedding at the resort, that is an extra item. I am a very type A person with a plan A, plan B, plan C, etc. for all things so I like to be covered. My wedding insurance is through the Travelers Insurance company and the trip insurance is through Alliance (I think). Anyway, hope this helps, but feel free to ask any other questions. -Kisha
  13. Aww, I'm sorry to see that. Total bummer, but Vistaprint is actually pretty good about stuff like this. I had a problem with some pens I ordered and they sent me new pens without question. Good luck with everything. I feel your pain about your timeline as well. I just had to order more save the dates after I mailed out my original batch back in June!
  14. You can purchase Weddig insurance and travel insurance without purchasing your flights. We did that without the flights being available.
  15. It is my understanding that as long as you have the official documentation from the country's government then that is all you need. Your state/county does not issue a marriage license because you did not marry there. Your official marriage documents are valid for tax purposes as well. The info is on the state department's website. just think of people who are from other countries that move to the United States and become citizens, they are not forced to get married here, they have already been legally married. You will have an official marriage license from Turks that carries the same weight as a marriage license from your state/city/county etc. don't stress about it, the federal government rules apply.
  16. turksbride12 - are you sure about the legality of the marriage? According to the State Department's website, "In general, marriages which are legally performed and valid abroad are also legally valid in the United States. Inquiries regarding the validity of a marriage abroad should be directed to the attorney general of the state in the United States where the parties to the marriage live." http://travel.state.gov/law/family_issues/marriage/marriage_589.html I haven't heard of anyone not being recognized as having a legal marriage in the US. I have a couple of friends that were married at destination weddings and they didn't have any problems. What state are you in?
  17. Thanks so much! You really are so kind for being so helpful. And you're right, this site will give you so many ideas to keep spending. My FH saw all of the boxes recently and gave me a WTF look ! He told me to chill out, I'm already trying to figure out how to get this stuff down there.
  18. Hi Chanel, It's me again! Do you remember what size nautilus shells you used? I am going to "borrow" this idea as well! I have been looking at them online but can't figure out what size to get and I don't want to do trial and error! Thanks! -Kisha
  19. Arch, Since I wanted to send out some additional printed information to my guests with the travel agent contact info and forms, Rebecca suggested that we make it pretty! So I printed the info and folded it up, then cut some card stock in fuchsia and placed the actual save the date on top with the printed info underneath and tied it together with a ribbon. Rebecca is awesome and creative because I would never have thought of that type of presentation. It was a really cute idea, just learned that the postage was extra for the weight of the envelope with the ribbon attached!
  20. Alexa - They are beautiful! Nice job, did you use real touch flowers?
  21. Miss Bubbles, I have a pending sale of the hangers at the moment, but I will keep you posted. The hangers were purchased from a shop on Etsy that has since closed to my knowledge. There was a 4th of July sale, that was how I was able to get them at such a great price.
  22. I am also seriously considering parasols for my bridesmaids. I am probably going to purchase them before I go, because that is cheaper than renting. My resort charges $20/parasol to rent and I can buy one and bring it for $7! I say parasols all the way! Good luck
