  1. I know that is the alternative option. Its insane how much they are charging for some things....
  2. Also, anyone that is ordering bouquets for their bridesmaids, do you know how much you are paying for each one? Im trying to decide if it is worth it or not, because it seems like any extras are so expensive.
  3. Is anyone else adding an extra hour on to their reception? I was quoted an extra $1,000 for an hour for 20 people!!!!
  4. Yeah I was kind of frustrated when I was told that they dont allow fake petals. I dont really understand it because they would be so simple to pick up.
  5. Thank you so much that is helpful. I will email Linda. Do you know if she is good about getting back to you through email? Are you bringing down any of your table decorations? Do you know the table size?
  6. Hello everyone! My wedding is 45 days away and I am starting to freak out that I am overlooking or forgetting things!! I also can't get my wedding coordinator Gina to email me back the last 2 weeks so that is not helping either! Does anyone know the size of the tables for the pool deck reception? I am wanting to order my own table cloths if possible. If I am bringing a guestbook, do they provide you with an extra table? Im wondering if i need to bring/order any extra decorations to put "around" the guestbook. For the ceremony, does anyone know how to get directly in contact with Linda? Do you meet with her before the wedding to go over the exact details of your wording? Am totally lost on this as I have some vows that i would like to incorporate. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance
  7. I loved your slideshow!! I am getting married on January 28th, 2013 and am having my ceremony at 3:30 as of right now, do you suggest that i switch it to 3 for the sunlight? I am also using starfish for my placecards and the exact same guestbook! How did you arrange to have your guestbook set up with the rocks? Im just wondering if this is something i will have to go over with them before I get down there or not... Also, can you tell me what size tablecloths you ordered? We are also having our reception on the pool deck as well! Thank you so much
  8. Emily, can you email these to me?? My email is [email protected] Im so jealous that you got an email back!!! My wedding coordinator is new and her name is Gina (different from Evangelina), so im hoping to hear from her soon! Im sure it helped a lot to actually get a form showing all of your choices! 9. It definitely makes it more stressful! As if it isn't stressful enough! I do know that everyone says once you get down there everything works out, but im definitely not the type to be able to wait until days before my wedding to get everything sorted out :/ Oh well I guess we will just have to hope for the best!
  10. Ok so my wedding is 1/28/13 and I think that I have received 1 email in the past 4 months from a wedding coordinator! It makes me so nervous. I am worried that once I get down there, they wont have any of the information that I have given them including the locations, times, food choices, etc... I am trying to fill out the spa form that my coordinator sent me. Does anyone know the pricing for hairstyles for my bridesmaids? Also, my coordinator also told me that i couldnt bring fake rose petals for decoration... Does anyone else have this problem or has anyone brought their own before?
  11. So glad to hear you had an amazing time! Can you request me on FB? Its Rachel McGee. Cant wait to see your pics!
  12. The photographer is the one the hotel provides... I believe from seeing posts from other brides that there is a fee for using an outside photographer im just not sure what it is.
  13. Because their email response for me is HORRIBLE, (i havent received a response in over a month and my wedding is 1/28/13) I went ahead and emailed the photographer and DJ directly. The DJ emailed me back immediately and said that he had me down for my wedding date and also sent me a form to fill out when we figured out all of our songs. His email is: [email protected]
  14. wow $1500 is ALOT for one hour! It amazes me how some things are so reasonably priced and others are just outrageous!
  15. Im so glad to hear that everything is going fabulous for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cant wait to hear more Congrats
  16. Congrats! My wedding is 1/28/2013! If I were you, since there is less than 6 months left, I would decide on the important things first, which in my opinion would be the locations (Ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception), and to contact the photographer and DJ to book your date (whether you choose to use through the hotel or outside the hotel). Also, I am using a travel agent and have been told that January and February are peak times so the hotel will book completely, so if you are having guests, make sure they reserve their rooms asap. I have already held 13 rooms. Below are the DJ and photographer's emails if you decide to use the ones that the hotel provides. DJ: [email protected] (awesome response time) Photographer: [email protected] (not so awesome response time)
  17. Here is the email to the spa: [email protected] I haven't had any luck getting in touch with them at all yet! I do know that if you have the amount of the bridesmaids hair billed to the brides room, they will give you 10-20% off (not sure which one is it), which will help a little! Then you can have your bridesmaids pay you, or they can just go to the front desk and pay the bill to your room. For the bouquets, im thinking about making my own bridesmaids bouquets (with the bridesmaids help!) with fake flowers. It just seems like so much extra to pay for their bouquets, especially if they will only be used for such a short time. I do know that they don't charge to set up any decorations that you bring yourself, but I have been warned to be very specific when giving them any instructions on how you want them set up Im bringing down my own chair bows as well. Savs, do you know what size the round reception tables are exactly? I know what you mean about spending so much! I too thought that I would be saving so much when deciding to do a destination wedding, but it doesnt look like that will be the case! At least it will be more memorable and fun Quote: Originally Posted by Savs1027 From what I've gathered from my emails from Lorena, they do not charge you to put on the chair sashes or table clothes. I think I'll do without the fabric I don't have an answer for the bridesmaid bouquets, but the centerpieces are relatively decently priced in my opinion. And a lot easier than bringing all of my own stuff down. I didn't ask her about all of them but I asked her about a few so you can get an idea. Maya 22 - $60 Maya 24 - $85 Maya 33 - $80 I told her I wanted the flowers in those centerpieces to match bouquet #16 (the bouquet I'm getting) and she said that was fine and gave me those prices. We are going to go with Maya 22 with hot pink flowers instead of the light pink. I really like the orange flower coming out of it (whatever that's called!) and it's in the bouquet #16 too. I think we won't have any more than 5 tables so that'll be about $300. To me, that's worth it to not have to worry about customs and extra suitcases and stuff. We are bringing sheer organza table overlays in teal, teal chair ties, and also 3 hot pink small glass candle holders for each table. We will probably add a picture frame in teal or hot pink with one of our engagement pictures to the centerpiece as well. I'm not sure about the spa... I think I saw the prices though on the Dreams Brides Facebook page? You could look there. I know people here have their email address though so you can make your appt. And if I were having my ceremony on the beach I would go barefoot
  18. Thank you! I never thought of buying a different dress to wear for the "trash the dress" session, because I really didnt want to trash my expensive wedding dress! Thanks for the idea
