If I have less than 30 I will have the one in the restaurant and then upgrade other things like DJ, etc. I have not even started to talk about where my reception will be. Just $100 total to bring your own decorations?? Yellow sounds fabulous!! I was considering that for my girls. I am leaning towards corals. But if I could bring my own decorations I wanted to do blues to complement the natural beauty and not take away from it. I have not received my official wedding contract, my TA received an email confirming the date but we are still waiting for paperwork. Did you sign contract then have meeting with Miami or vice-versa? I am so glad to have you for a reference!!!! I am not paying for my guests rooms!! Yikes I am just blocking the rooms. It was $100 for each room. After I send STD's and people start calling to put their deposits it will get credited to my room booking. My main motivation for this was to receive free nights and the cocktail hour for free. I blocked 15 rooms. How many nights are you staying? Sorry if I am all over the place!!!

My fiance's cousin is a travel agent and does lots of destination weddings so it was easy to have her since we already knew her personally. I am choosing the beach for ceremony...I keep reading how great the rooftop is but I am still drawn to the beach. I feel like if I am going all this way I want to get married with the sand in my toes!! Reception is up in the air. I am waiting to see how many actually book. So far about 35 say they are coming but I am not sure if some will drop out or if some may add once I send out actual invites. I have no colors!!! I wanted neutrals so that I did not have to coordinate my bridesmaids dresses and they can wear any color. I was looking at the Pearl Shimmer package but for now have booked complimentary and we put our money towards blocking rooms for our guests until I get a better idea of how many are coming and if I am going to have a private reception, etc. And I was not planning to bring much because I read you had to pay $300 a table if you wanted to bring your own decorations. I wated to have Ivan Luckie as my photographer but I asked to have an outside photographer and they said no. I asked my TA to ask again before I sign the contract but I am just waiting now. It says no outside vendors. I am definitely doing a TTD with him in the cenotes. Are you having a different result with outside vendors being allowed??? I feel like there are so many variables and what ifs! Tell me all of your details please

I thought these were a cute find for bridesmaids gifts, they are personalized and you can change the color of the stone to match the dresses and they come in silver too!! When they wear them after the wedding they will remind them of the day. I was thinking of getting my girls these and a silky robe to get ready in on the day of the wedding.

Does anyone have any info on the Palace resorts photographers? I wanted an outside photographer so I am sure I will have quality photographs of my day but was told I cannot have any outside vendors. I asked my TA to ask again just because I was hoping persistance would pay off but no luck yet. I have not officially signed my contract, should be getting it Monday. I wanted to use Ivan Luckie. Does anyone have any pics? Know the quality? Details on the packages? It looks like the packages are so small for so much money. Not sure if it is even worth upgrading. Thank you in advance

I thought of that too but I am scared people will go there and then not like what they find and just pick something on their own and then you are stuck with something you don't want or store credit. I could use some freshening of some stuff but I would really just like money, without asking for it Thanks for the input!

Hi there brides!! Any advice on what to do when you don't want to register? We have lived together for 3 years already. We do not need anything and I am afraid if we register we will get a bunch of stuff we don't really want or need and then being stuck with credit at a store. So I hate to register just for the sake of doing it. I would never ask for money blatently but it would appear I was if I don't have a registry right?? I know that anyone coming to the wedding is MORE than enough. I am contemplating a honeymoon registry but then it seems as though we are registering for a trip we are asking everyone else to come on. We are staying an additional time after our guests leave so technically we are having a honeymoon. With that being said, I want to still have a shower mostly because there are many who are unable to come to the wedding for financial reasons and I want to be able to spend some time with them and for them to be a part of the wedding. Any advice? Thank you in advance!

You should do what you feel is right for you...but the 11th sounds like the perfect day!! You can extend one day and so can your guests if they feel its necessary. It's worth a plane ride home feeling under the weather for a night of fun at your wedding

Congrats Canuck1234! I am just sorting through all those details myself. After endless hours on the web and with my TA. First off I don't know if you have a TA but she has been the biggest help. She has such an easy time getting information from the wedding planners at the resort. I sorted through my book of mexico resorts multiple times and then read through hundreds of reviews on the resorts on the trip advisor website. It was helpful to get a real persons view on their stay at the resorts as well as pictures taken by real people and not just the resort (who I would assume will show you only the absolute best). After all of this I settled on a palace resort. Called my TA and when I got the prices I was a little disheartened because my budget was also $10K. This was after we ditched our whole wedding back home because it was too pricey. So long story short I am still stuck on a palace resort! Based on what I have read and also from friends who have actually stayed at one before it seems to be worth the money. We chose Beach Palace because we want to be in the city and have the option of night life. Did you get the package with all the specifics on prices? If not I have it and can email it to you. If you go over 30 people you have to have a private reception and it is $50 a person. I would LOVE to hear what input others have as well. I am still sorting through. When will your wedding be? I was hoping to hear if Palace Resorts are extending their resort credits into 2013 since that is when my wedding is taking place. Has anyone heard anything???

Congrats to all the May 2013 brides!! I am planning a May 3, 2013 wedding at Beach Palace in Cancun. I have yet to finalize the date and place I am VERY indecisive. But I plan to commit in the next week. Any other Cancun brides?

saric83 Did you use the BOSE system after dinner? Where did you do this at? I was thinking of upgrading music system but I think it is a set up where we play our ipod and its for only a few hours. Which is basically the same as a BOSE and I already have one. What do you recommend? Thanks!!
