I need some help with RSVP details. What information did you put in your RSVP? I have a draft one as this for my RSVP Postcards: Kindly reply by 31st JANUARY, 2014 Name(s): _____________________ No. of guest(s)_________________ Wouldn’t miss it for the world. Wedding date (19th July 2014 ) Welcome party (18th July 2014) We’ll celebrate from afar. Promise to dance if you play ______________________ Please advise of any special or dietary requirements. _______________________ Our wedding planner also suggests it is good to have the following information from the guests as well: - Date and time of arrival/ date and time of departure - Hotel that they will stay - Special needs if any How do you collect these information from the guests? Should I put in another line similar to this (I copied this from Mischaka's Passport Invitation - hope she wont mind) Departing Flight #____ Time_____ Returning Flight #____Time _____ Tentative Hotel ______________ I am thinking instead of putting into the invitation, I may send a personal email to each guests RSVP as a thank you note and also asking them for those details instead? Hi there, I dont think for DW, the earlier you let the guests know, the more chance they will be able to make to the wedding. I have 2 friends' DW that i cant attend because by the time they ket us know, we have just returned from our trip for the year and we just couldnt afford another trip in that short notice. For our wedding in 19/07/14, STDs informal by email in August 12, Invitation June 13 Email reminder early Jan-14 RSVP: 15/01/14 (deadline to get early booking boat trip discount)

Our wedding is 19/07/2014. We sent STDs by email to everyone August 2012 , everyone said it's super organised but appreciated the early head up to plan (we got engaged in March 12, and decided in venues and wedding planner in May 12 already). I'm doing the invitation now to finish by May 13, to get to everyone at the latest September 13. RSVP will be 6 months in advance so mid of Jan 14 (but I will send reminder by emails again earlier), in the hope that we can push them to book their flights sooner than later, and also because we need to book the welcome dinner and in order to get the discount for boat trip by 6 months in advance (guests paying).

Some of our guests have young child - some will be 1-2 years old, although I'm not sure if they will come or not (which is fully understandable). What do you arrange for their young children, I'm thinking about suggesting them group-baby sitter as I dont think the menu fits well for babies. And I do worry that the babies will cry during the ceremony/ reception (especially the ceremony, I heard horrible story when babies crying when they were making the vow). What did you do for yours?

Some of our guests have special diet - Vegie, Hindus - no beef, Muslim - no Pork; and we will have our wedding in Greek, and we chose a Greek Style Menu, no there are lots of meat section of Pork and Beef - not much chicken unfortunately, and except for the main dish, everything else are sharing. For vegan guests, I can organise vegeterian meals for them so no problem. For the main dish, guests can choose so that's not a problem. However for the sharing dishes - I dont want to remove Pork or Beef , because we love our meat, and those dishes are very traditional Greek, and my FI would not be happy if we dont have them and have seafood or chicken. We also dont think put them in separate table will be possible. Should I in the menu (I plan to have menu printed) put in what dishes are beef and pork, and they can self serve? Thanks

What did you put in your RSVP deadline? My reception site doesn't require headcount until 7 days in advance, however, for the welcome dinner, they prefer 5 months out. Is that kind of rude to put RSVP deadline of 5 months out? Although, our wedding location is 26 hrs flight from hometown, so I'm sure if they want to go, they would/should book the tickets by then.

Thanks Houstonnlh, you are too kind. I love your RSVP Card. I think I will copy them mostly. We only have one pre-wedding event to put in the invitation. Another two will be by email (as suggestion if they are free, they can join with us).

Hi, I'm in the process of writing the content for our passport invitation, and we will have a pre-wedding welcome dinner the night before the wedding date. We haven't decided on the exact time yet, and the details on how to get there - will be updated in our wedding website closer to the date Did you also put in the dress code? I think it will be casual, but if guests want to dress up, it will be totally fine, because the place looks super romantic with relaxing atmosphere. Also, did you have a section in your RSVP for the Welcome Dinner, or it will be implied that they will go to both (I wish all of them can go to both)?

My wedding location is Santorini, I dont think any brides in bestdestination forum having wedding there, but doesn't matter, such an awesome site for destination wedding!!! I have found so many ideas already.

Join the club. I'm getting married in July 2014, I already booked our ceremony and reception venues, wedding organiser, sent out STD and our wedding website by email, working on Wedding Invites at the moment with the designer (I want to send them out by July 2013).

@ Katryne : Thank you. I saw Santorini from a friend's facebook, and since my FI is Greek, I was like drooling, and decided we must have our wedding there. It likes a dream almost comes true now.

@ EVKnowsitall : I Fully agree with you. When we first started planning, we want to do it really simple for under $10k, but now some extra costs (pre wedding dinner) that I dont think it is negotiable - $15k is the minimum that we have to spend.

Thanks for sharing! We actually wanted to do a photobooth but scrap the idea since it's too expensive, but now I will do this way. So fun!!! I actually will have vintage postcards as well.

My budget is $15000 with no flights and accomodation. We plan to have 30 guests, I dont have any wedding parties, and minimum costs for decoration I hope.

My Fi and I met through RSVP, and that the best $50 I have spent to register for the site. At first I thought, guys dating online must not be a good catch, but he is totally a good catch.

Hi All, I'm a newbie but not totally new, I have been to the forum for quite a long time, but no posting. I'm from Melbourne. Australia and we are planning our wedding in Santorini July 2014. Hope to share ideas with everyone.
