Not sure if it's different at each resort, but at my resort it's one fee per company, not per person with the company. So if the photographer brings an assistant, there's just one outside vendor fee.

Was that price $15.99 for just one or for the pair?

Have you tried any internet sites? I see a few online that state they're not replicas...They ranged from $120-$150 with rush time of 5-9 weeks at $30 per dress...not sure if that helps at all. Good luck! http://www.weddingshoppeinc.com/pr/6662/45320?gdftrk=gdfV2619_a_7c732_a_7c7280_a_7c45320&gclid=CIDMlNju7bQCFQyDnQodVDUASw http://www.newyorkdress.com/Alfred_Angelo/6662.html?utm_source=GoogleShopping&utm_medium=organic&gclid=CPnw5rPv7bQCFQkFnQodNywAxg http://www.thewasonline.com/cart/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=28525&cvsfa=3835&cvsfe=2&cvsfhu=3238353235 http://www.plussizebridal.com/FlowerGirls/6662ALF.asp?gclid=CM3skvTv7bQCFQWonQodXnIAxQ -
Hey there, I just compared the rates. The transfers my travel agent was including were shared transfers. Here are the rates I got for private transfers from another company which were much better: I don't like having to make a bunch of stops to other resorts so I always like to have private transfers. They told me they have all newer model vehicles (sedans, suv's and vans) up to 3 people one way: $45 Round trip: $69 up to 7 people one way: $55 Round trip: $79 up to 10 people one way: $65 Round trip: $89 You can give your guests this link to book online: http://www.entertainment-plus.net/transfers/playa-mujeres-transfers.asp Here's their email in case anyone would like it: [email protected] I found them on Tripadvisor and they have all excellent reviews.

I'm not sure if you've arranged transportation to/from the airport, but we are using Four Seasons (referred to us by EPM). They have been very pleasant, quick and easy to work with. Can you please forward the contact information you have for Four Seasons? I'd like to compare their rates for ground transportation to what I was quoted by another company. Thank you so much!

If your guest is staying 3 nights or longer, the "outside vendor" fee no longer applies. We're bringing our photographer that did our e-pics because we felt like we wanted to have someone shoot our wedding that had gotten to know us...not to mention she gave us a fabulous rate! Anyway, since she's booked at the resort for 3 nights, we won't have to pay the fee. I would still send that question to your wedding coordinator just so you have his/her response in writing so you don't have any issues in the event their policy changes at some point between now and your wedding date.

I'm giving the girls in my bridal party foot jewelry as thank you gifts at the bridal luncheon. But I found these cute flip flops for myself for the ceremony. My mom is also purchasing a different pair from the same company (not a wedge heel). Then I'm wearing the heels for the reception. I typically wear 4 1/2"-5" heels but I couldn't find any purple ones that were higher that I really liked and were within the amount I wanted to spend.

I'm going down to Mexico a week before the wedding and I'm waiting to purchase my bags then from the flea market. I want some bags that say Mexico or Cancun on them...and since I'll need a lot of them I figure I can negotiate the price and get them for next to nothing. Another bride I know staying at my resort did that for her wedding in May 2012 and got some great bags for about $3 each. Here's a pic below of her bags...I liked that they were all different but had the same central theme.

That's awesome she's been so responsive to you! Just keep in mind when wedding season gets underway again, it may not be like that. LOL When I talked to Nayeli last week she told me it's slow there right now. But I'm sure if you're thinking about 2015 you can get your date at least a year in advance. EPM is such a beautiful property! Good luck with your decision about venue and all your planning!

That definitely sounds weird to me. I spoke with Nayeli in the beginning of May 2012 and confirmed my date for May 4, 2013. Have you tried calling and speaking with anyone on the phone? If you get the same response, I would try asking to speak with Nayeli. I call and speak with her quite often (when I don't feel like waiting on an email response) via Skype and it costs me less than $.10/minute. Even though I speak with her over the phone. I still email her my questions so she can respond to them in writing and we both have copies. However, calling and getting an immediate answer calms my nerves since sometimes it takes several weeks before they're able to respond back to your emails.

Have you already given this away?

My success came from getting people to look at the numbers. I'm originally from Boston and now live in Atlanta. Most of my guests would have had to travel to Atlanta to attend a wedding. By the time they purchased airfare to Atlanta, stayed in a hotel for a weekend, rented a car and paid for food/entertainment the rest of the weekend they would have spent the same amount that they would spend at Excellence and I don't consider coming to Atlanta a "vacation". So for the same amount they could vacation in paradise. Also, we sent our STD's out May 4, 2012 and our wedding is May 4, 2013. We encouraged people to make regular monthly payments toward their room which most did and stretching it out over a year made it affordable. At the end of the day, though, we both knew in our hearts that getting married at Excellence was what WE wanted to do. So many people plan their weddings around the wants and desires of other people and it becomes less about the actual couple. We decided that wasn't going to be our story. While there were many that we felt we would love to have attend, we both felt strongly that as long as me, him and God were in attendance that was really all that we needed. With that being said, if it's what your heart is set on, the people that are supposed to be there, will be. Wishing you all the best in your decision and your wedding plans!

It was definitely cheaper for our guests not to mention there's a ton of amenities that are included with the group rate (especially if you have a large group). I've been checking Expedia, Hotwire and the resort's website periodically and our contracted rate is always much lower. Not to mention, one of the ways I was able to convince my guests to use our travel agent was by letting them know that a lot of times they oversell rooms at resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean. When that happens, they start moving guests to their "sister" properties. When you're part of a group, they won't break the group up so you don't have to worry about some of your guests getting moved to a different property. We went to the Now Jade Resort in Riviera Maya in April to celebrate my brother's 50th birthday, they were oversold and were sending some of their guests to their sister property, Now Sapphire. I've heard Now Sapphire is a really nice property but I wouldn't have wanted any of us to get sent there. Because we booked as a group we weren't split up. We went with www.destinationweddings.com. My brother and sister in law used them when they got married in DR a couple years ago and my sister in law said they were great so I decided to use them as well. They specialize in Destination Weddings and our travel agent Pam has been great to work with. We were able to book our block of rooms and give our guests about 6 weeks to put down their deposit. That was in May and even though we've since released the block, they're still honoring the same contracted rates for our late guests that are just booking now. The Excellence of Love Wedding Package includes the Silver Menu for 20 people and the Gold Excellence Wedding Package includes the Gold Menu for 20 people. They both include cake and cocktail hour for 20 people as well. Last email I received it was $45 per person over the 20 that's included. That $45 covers cocktail hour, cake and dinner. Hope this helps! Lynn

Hey Monica, I don't know the answers to all your questions but I'll answer the ones I do know based upon my communications with Nayeli. 1. There's a $100 fee to hang lanterns without lights and $150 to hang lanterns with lights. The resort will provide the lights. 2. We have the gold package as well. She said you have the option of having a soloist (saxophonist, guitarist, cellist, violinist, etc) or the trio as part of your package with no extra charge. You can choose to have them at the ceremony instead of the cocktail reception if you'd like. If you're wanting to hire them for both ceremony and reception, there's a $500 charge. 3. We're doing the legal ceremony and she said our blood would be drawn at the resort the day after we arrive. 4 Yes you receive 4 corsages and 4 boutonnières. Hope this helps! Lynn

We're bringing our photographer with us. She's bringing an assistant and covering all of our wedding weekend events (Welcome Reception, catamaran excursion, rehearsal dinner, wedding day & day after TTD shoot) for less than it would have cost us just for just the wedding day of the outside photographer we were considering. We weren't impressed with the resort photographer at all. We had 2 separate shoots for our engagement session so she's had an opportunity to spend time around us and get to know us which I really like. I will say we had to work and negotiate a price that would work for us both. Her 1st quote was not affordable and after talking some more we came to an arrangement acceptable to all.

Tova I found out from one of the recent brides at my resort that the judge was there to observe but the wedding coordinator did the ceremony in English. So you should check with your wedding coordinator if you're considering the legal ceremony.

So, I don't want anyone to think I'm cheapie cheapie LOL but I really didn't want to spend over $500 on my dress...and if I were really being honest if I could have gotten it for $300-$400 that would have been even better. Now there are plenty of things with this wedding I'm willing to spend top dollar on (photography/videography, honeymoon, excursion for my guests, etc.), my dress just wasn't one of them. Now that being said, I knew if I told the sales girls that, there wouldn't be anything for them to show me! Hahaha So I told them I didn't want to go over $1000 (thinking I could probably find someone selling something similar in my price range). My MOH is a bulldog when it comes to certain things and she absolutely would not allow them to bring me anything over $1000. We didn't want them to bring stuff to me that I would get emotional about and love; and then end up spending more than I wanted to. You have to be that person for Amy. I would say maybe go up to twice what you're really willing to pay when searching but no more than that probably because if you're willing to buy pre- owned (as I was) then you can most likely find it at half off for the same dress or something very similar. I actually found a dress at David's Bridal that was either $500 or $600 and I really liked it and was tempted to buy it that day but for some reason I didn't (my decision was made easier by the saleperson's high pressure sales pitch which I didn't like). However, because clearly I have nothing else to do with my life but stay online and research all things wedding, one night I found a dress that was very similar to the David's Bridal dress that I LOVED!!! I found the nearest store that sold it and went and tried it on so I would know what size I needed and then I went on the hunt to find someone that was selling the exact same dress. It was close to $1400 in the store but I purchased it new from a bride on eBay that changed her mind about her wedding for $600. Oh yea, I forgot! Don't forget to check eBay as well! Hope that helps! Lynn

I went to a bridal salon and tried on some dresses that were more than I wanted to spend (not ridiculously so but definitely more) so that I could get a feel for what style I liked and what styles looked good on my figure. Then I went online and searched for those same dresses. I found the dress I wanted for less than half of what they were charging in the store. There are several brides out there that change their minds about their dresses or have weddings called off, etc and then need/want to sell the dress they bought. In addition to the sites Tova mentioned, I would also look up here and www.weddingbee.com. Good luck in your search!

Ok thanks! I'll try them. I may check Vistaprint out just to see what the price would be. I'm like you I don't need any special cardstock this time either. I get emails all the time from Vistaprint but I haven't been paying attention to what the offers have been.

I was going to have a few people quote the job for me. With the invitations she did I had a few printers quote it out and then had them print on my textured cover stock to make sure their printer could do a good job. I ended up going with the 2nd to lowest bid because his printer did the best job. This time I don't have any special paper to consider so I should be able to go with the lowest bid. I've never had Vistaprint really do anything for me except business cards. Has anyone else had them print other things and was satisfied with the quality?
-
No I haven't because she just sent them to me last night and I'm still tweaking it. But I'll do the same thing I did with the invitations. The guy at the printing company I used printed out one invitation and boarding pass RSVP card and completely assembled them before printing the entire job at no cost. I'll have him print one of each of these items to make sure they look the way I'm expecting them to before I have him print the whole job. I won't print them for a while until I get some firmer #'s back top of the year. But I wanted to go ahead and have everything designed so when I have my #'s, at that point I'm just having them printed and it should all come back within a day or so. Thank you so much for your help! I just sent your suggestions over to Novia for her to make some changes.
