  1. This is such a great blog and so full of awesome! I've enjoyed reading it and your adventures and look forward to reading more. Good luck with the rest of the planning and the diy.
  2. We're going to register. I've had way too many friends ask us to register since they won't be able to attend the wedding. With that said, we are not printing anything on our std's or invitations. We did put a little blub down on our website that says: Your presence at our wedding is presents enough. For those wanting to give a gift please see our registry. We ask that you do not bring any wedding gifts with you to the resort. Your attendance is all the gift that we would ask for. I've been researching the various registries and I'm down to these two: http://www.rainfallofenvelopes.com or http://www.honeyfund.com Here is a comparison of a few sites: http://www.creativehoneymoonideas.info/ideas/2010/12/honeymoon-registry-reviews-2/ Others have liked these sites: http://www.travelersjoy.com http://www.newgiftregistry.com http://www.honeymoonwishes.com
  3. I'm a 2013 bride and would love to get in on this. Do we need to buy one for 2013? I don't mind doing that. This is such a great forum that this thread seems so perfect!
  4. In Seattle I could only find the hibiscus ones. I have plenty of time though. The dollar tree is awesome for little goodies!
  5. A lot of people on here just asked when they got on the plane. Some dresses ended up in the overhead laying down on top of suitcases because it was too long for the cabinet.
  6. Great question as I will need some help with this as well. I have read that some people ordered their bag through the mens warehouse.
  7. I'm going barefoot as well, but will wear the barefoot jewelry. Bondgirl~ Love some of the ones you posted! Thanks for the link.
  8. I'm struggling with this as well. I really want to ask my friend to be my MOH, but she already stated that she might not be able to go. I told her about our plans for the dw without mentioning I want her in my wedding. I don't want to ask her then she feels obligated to find a way to go. That's just too much stress. I'm trying to be patient for a couple more months before asking anyone to be a bm since I'm waiting to see what she will do. It's driving me crazy.
  9. I'm debating this as well. I know we will do a private reception, but have no idea how much that will cost yet. Depends on the number of guests attending. I was thinking of doing a little sunset cruise, but it's $75 a person. That might be a who wants to join us kinda thing and they pay for themselves. I figure any other dinner/brunch will be at the included restaurants.
  10. I really like the idea of being in separate rooms the night before. Our wedding is at 10am, so I won't have to go long without seeing him. I'm realizing that I'm much more traditional than I thought I was.
  11. Ohh I love the necklace idea! My daughter will be my flower girl so I might have to use that idea. I was originally thinking attached to the basket as well.
  12. I agree with BethSilver. I would say if you don't want to invite them then don't. This is your wedding and who you want to be there, so surround yourself by people you love and want to be around. That's the joy of the dw, you don't have to invite anyone out of obligation. Follow your gut of who you want and who you don't. I've also noticed some people try and come out of the woodwork when wedding plans come up so they can get invited. I don't like that at all. I'm not inviting my aunt for similar reasons. Good luck! Family stuffs can be really hard to deal with.
  13. I haven't officially asked my friend to by my moh yet, but she knows she is at least in the wedding party. After that she asked when we were going to go shopping for dresses. Then she told me she would buy her own dress, I just needed to tell her what I was looking for in a bm dress. I think I lucked out there as I was wondering the same thing if I needed to buy them or not.
  14. Yeah I just got confused about the fess. For some reason thought the gov't fee was included in the free basic wedding with the 6 days. The only extra stuff will be what we want to do for the actual wedding/reception. I was finally looking over the sales kit from my ta and the prices are higher than Beaches website. I know there has been multiple issues with prices, but it's frustrating. I emailed my ta asking about it, so I wait and see what he says. I am so thankful for this site and all the wonderful information.
  15. We paid our deposit plus travel insurance and my ta told me I needed to pay the $400 government fees. For some reason I thought they would have been included in the basic package. I guess I assumed wrong. Are there any other fees that I am missing that are not the add ons? Also, I received my email attachments from my ta via my wc. I realized that the prices for the themes are very different. We were debating the seaside serenade, but it's still a lot of money. The beaches site states that it's an additional $2500 while my attachment states that's $3200. I need to email my wc and inquire about that. Lastly, do we tip the officiant? Thanks and happy planning!
  16. That is soo exciting! Can't wait to hear about. Have a great trip and ceremony!
  17. I'm so jealous of all the afternoon ceremony times. We're getting married on a Sunday so the latest time for us is 10am. I didn't want to change the date as we are using our anniversary date and I didn't want to wait another year. It's still going to be amazing regardless of the ceremony time. Anyone else doing morning? I have no idea what I'm going to do about reception times.
  18. Hello. Wasn't sure where to put this, so sorry if it's in the wrong spot. Anyway, I got an email this morning for a deal on a yearly (or 2) subscription for Bridal Guide Magazine for $3.99. The only catch is that it is today only! The 27th of April. Go to: http://www.tanga.com/deals/7125a6798fbe/bridal-guide-magazine-subscription Start the check out process. The line for the code is before the payment. Use the code FRUGALNW at checkout and your price will drop from $11.99 to $3.99 Continue check out and you're done. It's easy. Enjoy.
