  1. Mrscowbag ~ Our stays overlap, but we won't get to see each other's wedding. tkennerson~ I ordered bouquets from www.wedideas.com I also bought my bouquet from them. I'm doing the natural touch flowers, then everyone can keep them when they go home. Does anyone have the price list for the spa? I can email the wc, but thought it would be faster if I asked on here. I'm about to email my group to see who wants their hair/makeup done and also inquire about massages and facials. Thanks!
  2. Thanks! I was wondering about that. I hate 2 in 1's, so will definitely be bringing my own toiletries down. In other news, I had my first dress fitting today! Dress will be ready the beginning of September!
  3. Congrats mrscowbag! What dates will you be at the resort? I'll be getting married 10 days after you! The legal ceremony script is strict, but I know you can add your own vows. We're doing a symbolic to save money so I don't have a copy of it.
  4. That's what we are doing pddcmc. Most of our guests are only going to be there 5 days so we want to give them time to do what they want. I told them we only need 1 day and the rest is their time. Everyone is happy without me having to plan every minute. Plus I don't need any other private parties except for the reception.
  5. We're not doing a rehearsal dinner either. We'll just make reservations at one of the restaurants. We're only going to pay for the reception dinner and no other dinners.
  6. We're not doing a welcome reception. I was thinking about doing a welcome dinner, but didn't want to do it the day that most people are flying in. I might just do a meet and great in the lobby bar area and if people want to join us for dinner the following day they can.
  7. I will be bringing them back unless any guests want them. I might keep one as a keep sake. I'm thinking about making 8 or 10 of them. I've heard that the stuff you leave usually gets thrown out. I am just going to pay the $100 fee. I have a lot to set up and don't want to burden anyone with tying sashes and all that stuff. Thanks prisp!
  8. Question for past brides. How many chairs are in each row for the ceremony? By the looks of some of the pictures, it appears to be about 4 chairs on each side of the aisle, so 8 in a row. Is that correct? I'm about to buy supplies to make starfish aisle holders and trying to figure out how many to make. I'm assuming it can vary depending on the amount of guests. Thanks!
  9. We are having our reception on the beach. I can tell you in October how it is. We didn't have enough people for the pool deck and I thought the beach would be fun.
  10. I just got an email from Claudia introducing herself and sending some things to start planning the wedding with them! How exciting!!! I started thinking about packing and what to bring. Out of the brides who have already gone down there. How is the shampoo, conditioner and body wash they give you? I think I read somewhere that they give you all those. I think I also read something about washcloths. You do get them too right? I was reading the Mexico consulate page and it looks like we can bring in $500 of goods/gifts if traveling by air. http://www.sat.gob.mx/informacion_fiscal/normatividad/formas_fiscales/Documents/A30_ingles.pdf In this list of prohibited items, I didn't see anything about starfish or shells, just turtle stuff is a no no. http://consulmex.sre.gob.mx/reinounido/index.php/visas/79#7 The pool deck is wood and nicer from what I hear. The pool terrace is concrete. It's a matter of preference for what is better. I think brides favor the pool deck. The location is different too, but I forget where they are in regards to each other.

  12. My condolences for all of those you lost, especially your son MzLisa. I really like the wedding photo i and empty chair idea. I was thinking about doing a day of the dead sugar skull candle by the guest book for all those that have passed. We have several and want to honor them all. We would need 9 frames for all, so might try and do some sort of collage.
  13. Oops my link didn't show up. I bought my bouquet from wedideas.com
  14. All such cute ideas that I can't decide what I want to do. I might do the shell place holders since they would be easy to pack.
  15. I bought a bouquet from love it! I know you can get some stems from there, but it's mostly arrangements. You can also try http://www.afloral.com for individual flowers.
  16. I really wish vendors would put their prices on their websites. I don't want to waste anyone's time. I want to see who is in my budget and then go on from there. I've looked at a lot of vendors sites and some of them are just out of my price range. I am looking for a photographer for ttd. Since it doesn't have to be on site, I can skip the vendor fee. Guess I just need to fill out the contact form to get their prices. Ever since I saw some photos of this, I can't wait to do it. I am soo excited to put on my wedding dress and get in the water!
  17. Please let me know if the napkins and table runners are still available.
  18. I keep debating pashminas. I know I'm not needing $100 worth, so this might sway me to forget it. I have a couple months to figure it out.
  19. Looks like Michael's is having a buy 1 get 1 free sale until the 7th on their frames. I really want to diy one as well, but want to use a wedding photo. I think I am going to buy the frame below and attempt to add an extra piece of glass so I can change the picture. Worth a shot at least. http://www.michaels.com/studio-decor-4-way-adjustable-shadowbox/10226789.html I just came across this post where they said this- We made a 12x12 sand frame... and we velcroed a smaller square frame onto the glass of the larger frame so we can easily change out the picture... you can't see the velcro once the sand is in the frame http://forums.theknot.com/discussion/273175/diy-unity-sand-frame I found her post that the frame worked out, but sadly the picture is no longer there.
  20. Great thread with soo many great suggestions. I just started buying stuff for the oot bags. I'm using the hibiscus bags from Dollar Tree and different size bubba kegs. So far I've found the cheapest places to buy the items were Amazon, Target or the Dollar Tree.
