Just wanted to post that we finally decided on a travel agent. Well we had one, but found we were finding better rates on our own. After doing over 2 weeks of researching and monitoring online rates we called a few travel agencies, most were ones I read excellent reviews on this site about, to see what they quoted. Just figured I would share because I know what a pain finding good rates is.

I am pretty sure you can do a bonfire at the Beach. I asked Trisha and she said yes. I plan on doing one on the night before the wedding (Friday night) with open international bar. I am still not sure about if we are going to have a DJ or Steel Drum Band for the bonfire. The charges for these were listed in an attachment I got with our contract.

Hey jreist, I was in Jamaica last March and sunset wasn't til around 7:30-8pm, but not sure if it is different in January. I was hoping for a sunset wedding too but it doesn't look like that is going happen as my time is 5:30pm. I am hoping to get photos on the beach at sunset though. My contract doesnt list a minimum of 3 hours for a cocktail party. It just says per hour. The only thing that I see that has a minimum of per hour is the DJ for a private reception. On my contract it says DJ & Sound System for Private Reception minimum 3 hours is $450.

I thought about switching resorts after our wedding at Iberostar Beach too, but decided against it. Instead we are going to switch to the Rose a couple days after our wedding and most of our guests have left. From everything I have read so far, most brides say they loved the Beach or Suites but were blown away when they switched to the Rose. So I really don't wanna miss out on the Rose. Also, we are hoping to schedule to two days of excursions off the resort to see more of the island (we paln on being in Jamaica for 2 weeks). That is what we did last year when we in Jamaica and got engaged. We stayed at Sandals Whitehouse which was absolutely awesome and really secluded and I highly recommend it if you do switch resorts. We booked a full day trip with Talk of the Tours and had a private driver for over 12 hours (and it was only $150). We had the best time, we were able to plan before hand what we absolutely wanted to do and then our driver showed us a lot of local sites and places that we would not have not seen otherwise. I strongly recommend doing this and can forward information to anyone interested as I still my email convos with them.

I am strongly considering Elite Media Concepts. Another bride recently used them (for her videographer and DJ) and posted her video, it was really really good. It is listed somewhere under the Iberostar discussion on this site . If you can't find it let me know and I can post the link when I have more time... They are pricey though. I emailed them for prices and they got back to me that day.

Great idea! I am a March 2013 Beach Bride. Planning is currently in full swing. Right now we ae in the process of booking our stay. Haven't got much else figured out, a lot is going depend on the number of guests we have. So hopefully in a few months, I will know a lot more and be less stressed!

I should have clarified, we are looking at rates for Iberostar Suites and Iberostar Grand Rose in Montego Bay for March 2013.

So we have been checking the pricing with different companies all week and am finding they fluctuate quite a bit. I know that rates are usually lower on Tuesdays and Wednesdays which definitely seems to be the case. My future sister-in-law got a great price for 6 nights at the Suites and when we checked the next day, the price was over $1,000 more-crazy!! Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the best deal? We plan on staying at the Suites for 5 nights in March then moving to the Rose for 9 nights. So far Bookit.com and Orbitz have had the best prices (depending on the day). We originally were working with a AAA Travel Agent, but their rates were higher than what we were finding on our own and they didn't offer any incentives.

I am in the process of booking Stacey Clark. Choosing a photographer has been one of my greatest stresses because I am also a photographer. I chose Stacey becauseI love her creativity and because of all of the reviews I read from past brides were wonderful. I also thought her prices were reasonable and actually lower than most of the others in the area. Now I am trying to choose a videographer...Good luck!

Ok, I was hoping that they didn't enforce that rule because it was on the beach. Oh well, that helps me plan thoug. Thanks, I wasn't able to find that info anywhere else. Thank you!

I think this question has been asked on here before, but I can't seem to find it. I am wondering if the Beach Parties are open to all three resorts. For example, can guests of the Iberostar Beach attend the Beach Party at the Suites? Also, does anyone one know the times and days for the beach parties? From what I have been able to find so far is the Beach is currently held on Thursday nights and the Suites is held on Saturday nights. I was thinking of doing a bonfire but don't want to do it the same night at a Beach Party if guest of all three resorts can attend. Thanks for any advice!

Future MrsA, I fell in love with Princess J's pictures of the aqueducts too and looked into having our wedding ceremony there. But I ended up picking to do the wedding at the Iberostar Beach and am praying I wont regret it. The cost alone for the venue of the Aqueducts is $2,500. We did the math for the package through the same company Princess J used and it was around $5,400. I am definitely going to have pictures taken at the Aqueducts though (and the Great Rose House) when we do our Trash the Dress Session. Let me know if you need more info, I don't have my binder with all my wedding stuff with me. Hope this helps! Thanks for all the information Allie. I am still struggling in making the final decsion on the Aqueducts or on the beach, but the picture you posted is pretty much how I envision a beach wedding. I definitely want the wooden chairs, sunset, candlelight, not overly decorated etc. I googled Marisa's wedding and it wasa beautiful. I requested the wedding date request form from Iberostar Suites and Beach so as soon as I get it I am think I am going request my date for the Bach and see what happens. I am leaning towards the Beach because they only require 80% stay at any of the three resorts instead of the Suites 90% Suite only requirement. I have at least a few guests that I know will be staying at Sandals and a lot of guests that would most likely prefer the Beach over Suites based on the cost. I am definitley going to hope to do a TTD at the Aqueducts if we don't get married there. Have you made any more progress on your plans? I saw a list of questions you posted you had on one post, and I had pretty much all the same questions. My goal this week is to get a wedding website started and Save the Dates made.

I am also considering getting married here on March 23 2013. I am also looking for pics, I have found quite a few on here during my initial research but after looking at so many pics I forget. A direct link would be awesome if anyone has one. If either of you need any information, I would be glad to share the little I have gotten so far. I am still trying to decide between the Beach and Suites and am also still considering an off resort ceremony at the Aqueduct Ruins, so I have some info on that as well.
