  1. OMG..... I was sooooo nervous. I had my try on today for my dress! They wanted to order it one possibly two sizes bigger..... I had already been dieting and lost weight! So I ordered a 16 I wear a 10 or 12 depending on the clothes and brand..... I have not lost just yoyoed.... Well I thought I would throw up today! Soooooo at first they couldn't get the top to close... they told me nothing they could do since I requested that size..... a few minutes later, they were like oh, it is a lace up they can just move panel slightly and it is fine. Then they actually told me, it was probably a good choice to order that size, because it fits beautifully everywhere else! lol Well my first fitting is in 3 weeks and I am starting hard core tomorrow!!!!! lolol
  2. the garden stakes might be a problem...maybe not if you check them....lol bags are 70lbs each on united also! Another tip from my Aunt was to get a United Chase Card....and rack up miles this year which I did! and first bag checked for free when checking in with that card!
  3. I actually let my future step daughter pick the color and the girls pick their dresses..... sounds crazy right! I loved a different color but I wanted her to feel important and she did chose a beautiful color.... Also I have been a bridesmaid so many times and loved when we chose as a group our dress, the bride just gave us the color. My sister is my maid of honor and actually asked me if I was going to get back at her for the dress she chose ( I hated her dress and asked to pick a different one, she didn't budge ) I told her, I just want you to be comfortable! Just choose something light and flowy!....Now she is pregnant....lol and definitely loving her own choice
  4. I am flying United.... we were able to upgrade our tickets to first class....with miles etc.... but before upgrading... I called they advised me to get to the gate early and let them know I had my wedding dress. There is a closet in first class and they most likely will accomodate!! Also FYI Jet Blue doesn't have a closet! so overhead bin only.... Hope that helps Also no baggage fees in first class for two checked bags each! awesome for all your diy projects!!! avoids shipping fees for all of that and favors!
  5. okay so I originally bought bags from old navy because I was panicing and couldn't find what I wanted at a reasonable price..... so you have to check out saveoncrafts.com.... I got burlap favor bags as well for coffee..... I have been slowly buying stuff since January..... here is what I have so far! I also got my nephew, my ring bearer, at Michaels....some beach toys and a cute bag!
  6. I am getting married on the beach but reception is on normal ground outside.... I ordred shoes from davids bridal and I am having them died a periwinkle blue! Didn't want to spend a fortune on shoes because it is a destination wedding! I am going to not worry about taking them off for the sand..... I may even do a wedge for reception....since my feet hurt in heels....we will see! I don't think flops are stupid... especially since u can't really see them
  7. Hey Ladies, I had my planning call a couple of weeks ago and forgot to ask about rehearsal dinner. They changed my planner earlier on and she had said they do a rehearsal dinner, but now they are just allowing you a reservation for 20 people prior to the wedding for dinner. She emailed me the request form. I think it is difficult for them to plan that out that far in advance. We stayed there two years ago, and not every restaurant is open every night. Most are but I am sure they go by the number of guests staying at a time to figure it out. I agree it is an all inclusive and can be a little frustrating with all the extras but overall I feel like I have so much in my package. We are doing the chill out chic because we loved the decor and the buffet dinner seemed like a good idea becuase of the all inclusive. I figured it gave guests more options for dinner eg. steak, chicken, fish, etc. We still have the beautiful tables set up and got to choose our linens. Maybe switching to the less exspensive package would free up a little of the budget for other things.... just a suggestion. We are definitely on a budget ourselves. And Ev, I totally agree. I would not pay the day pass fees. We made it clear to others there is a fee to come onto property for wedding and we are already paying per head. I also think people think it is like a regular hotel and they can come hang out for the day, not realizing there are guest passes involved because it is all inclusive. ll117 I love the escort cards we were thinking of doing the same!!! I read something a few brides wrote on here...and I am trying to keep it in mind.. Once y ou are at airport and are on your way to resort....It was all worth it! IT all worked out and was beautiful... and you are on vacation and about to be married with friends and family closeby!!!!!
  8. Thanks so much, I handed out most of my MIB, have a couple to mail if I do not see them this weekend. You can bring them to post office. We used plastic bottles, we ordered both glass and plastic but the plastic fit better in the box. The wedding tutorial was instructions on this site.... i believe there are tutorials on youtube though.
  9. Hi Liz, I saw that review and felt really bad for any brides who haven't been to the resort. If I read that and hadn't stayed there I would be super worried! My fiancé and I stayed in the reserve at ppr about 2 years ago and are getting married there this July! We loved it, we are from the NYC area and have pretty high standards, I think, lol. We chose the resort bc we have personally stayed there and felt overall it would please most guests! Hope it reassures you a little.... Kelly
  10. luv how they came out.... I am currently working on mine on vistaprint! This was one of the diy projects I was totally doing from the start!
  11. Just wanted to say thanks for sharing!!!! I just finished mine and couldn't have done it without all the help on here. I ordered the vanilla chapsticks....they are great, very light and emailed customer service for the template for the labels. For some reason I couldn't get the file downloaded correctly. I have a mac and maybe that is why, but customer service sent me the templates and I had no problem.... Love how they came out!!! and by the way....I checked out your etsy store! great job:) u are definitely going to do well!!!
  12. Thanks Brandy! I am sure there are things in my wedding package that are probabaly more then yours, I think it all evens out in the end. But $450 for 20 minutes is a lot! I actually am a nurse, I work in the operating room.... We work long hours and get to know the surgeons and they get to know us as well as our families, etc.... And honestly, they truly rave and some go back year after year. My fiance and I had an amazing vacation in Turks also.... we explored the island a bit, and there are so many beautiful remote beaches, beautiful coral and conch shells just washed up on shore! Was really amazing. here is the link for the rum bar....it is a little hole in the wall place but delicious food, amazing rum punch, and you will run into a lot of the different people there, including resort employees on their day off..... The official name is da conch shack and here is the link http://www.daconchshack.com/Conch_Shack/Home.html My cousin is a speech therapist. Such an amazing job! Must be fun working with young kids.....If someone ever told me years ago that I would work in the OR I would have thought they were insane.... I was sooooo queasy. I guess I just got used to it. Hospitals are definitely rough though. For the past 7 years I worked in an outpt facility privately owned, but recently went back to the hospital.....it was an adjustment but i am loving it! I am sure your girlfriend will be an amazing nurse....we need more people who put their heart and soul in it....good luck to her
