That is really beautiful! Did you have to tell them what color/type of flowers to put on it?

I ordered my dress from www.weddingdressbee.com after trying on the designer version. They did an amazing job, and I actually think I like the knock off more than the original. I was so nervous after I ordered it, but it showed up in 26 days (I put a rush on it), fit like a glove-no alterations necessary except a bustle, and was over half the cost of the designer dress. I don't know if I just got lucky or not, but I'm definitely thrilled.

My WC said that the fee was for each vendor.

I'm having a hard time deciding whether or not I want to wear a veil in our wedding. Here is a picture of the dress. Did any other brides have a hard time making this decision? Did you wear a veil to your wedding? Would a veil look weird since my hair is short? I've never even tried one on...

Does anyone know how far in advance we'll need to pay for our wedding package? My WC hasn't asked for a deposit or anything. We are getting married on October 20th, but I don't think we'll have the final guest numbers until August. Trying to plan for expenses as early as possible.

I'm looking to buy an instant camera to use for our guest book. If I don't get a response from anyone, I'll just buy one new, but I thought maybe there were other brides out there that bought one to use at their wedding and might be interested in selling it now that it's all over. Let me know if you have one you're willing to part with and how much for the camera + shipping to Baltimore, MD.

We are bringing our photographers with us. If they weren't staying at the resort, there would have been a $500 off site vendor fee for them, but if they spend at least 2 nights at the resort, the fee is waived. I asked my WC yesterday about whether or not there is an outside vendor fee for bringing someone in to do hair and make-up, and this is the response I got: "Any external vendor has to pay a fee, the hair and make up must pay a 30% to the resort of the price that you pay to them. " Seems incredibly expensive and ridiculous to me. Especially since their spa doesn't have the best reputation. I have noticed a lot of people on this site brought in the Styling Trio and am interested in knowing if they had the same experience.

I'm bringing a cake topper and when I told my wedding coordinator she didn't seem to have an issue with that.

Has anyone taken their own fabric for the bows or is it possible that there will be other options when I get there?

Has anyone that got married at Barcelo Maya gotten a two or three tier cake with frosting other than fondant? If so, was it good and do you have pictures?

Has anyone used the resort DJ? We are getting married on October 20th at Playa Azul and I'm trying to decide whether or not it is truly worth it to get a DJ or just load up an ipod. I'm also wondering whether or not we really need a dance floor. Any thoughts/opinions are welcome!

Hi Avens! I actually saw your planning thread a couple weeks ago! Your wedding was beautiful, and I loved the real touch flowers! I am getting the Strawberry Passion package, but I feel like Barcelo leaves a lot out of the information that some of the other resorts include in their wedding package information packs. Example, Dreams Tulum mentioned that there is a service charge/chair to move chairs from the ceremony to the reception site, extra charges for cake, hor d'oeuvres, cocktails for guests over the package amount. Barcelo doesn't mention those type of extras, just that there is a set price per head for any number of guests over what is covered in the package. Should I be prepared to have those same types of extras? Just trying to emotionally prepare myself for the bill. We think there are going to be about 30 people, so we know we have the per head fee for everyone over 15, but I'm just trying to figure out how much I need to be ready for.
