  1. You look beautiful and congrats to the both of you!!!! I love your dress and simple decorations, so pretty. Congrats again!!!!
  2. Allie H- you got lots of time then. Enjoy yourself and it's coming up soon, your goin to have an awesome time. I can't wait to hear all about when you get back.
  3. Allie H- We used our swim up a lot, our guests came by us and we came by them. The day of our wedding us girls used it it was nice. The walking part and shuttles were not that long of a wait, so everything for us worked out smoothly. I just loved the feeling after being married and feeling some what private away from our guests though we did see them every day. Just nice privacy.
  4. Allie H- we got upgraded for free to for the swim up, that is awesome, then she called an asked what room we were in and they gave us a coupon to be in the infinity, but we chose to do the swim up. plus if you have a few who would want to walk those stairs up to the room, so worth it and enjoy it. It's just so nice to swim to the bar and the convince of the bathroom in your room, i loved it. oneill12- Have fun and enjoy every minute of it, i can't wait to see some pictures when you get back, i know they will turn out amazing since you are using Sarani, you will have fun with her she makes you feel relaxed. Best wishes and safe travels!!!!
  5. You are going to have so much fun, we did the same thing, but we toured all the Karisma resorts and a couple of resorts in Cancun till we picked El Dorado Royale. You also, can take tours down there and end up enjoying a free massage and dinner on the beach for free, alot of our guests did this and i believe it last a couple hours, but getting some of that stuff for free was worth it to them. I am sure they will personal tour you guys like they did with us, which is nice and i am sure you will see some rooms too. Also, i see that you are getting married on April 21st, that is so close to our one year which will be on the 30th, were looking forward to going back next year. Enjoy yourselves and try as many things as you can.
  6. Just think Nikki you made a girl feel as lucky as you did on your special day and got some money now that's bitter sweet.
  7. AllieH- our ceremony was like 20 minutes long, we kept it really simple as well. we had our programs on colored paper, my husband found a link online for a temp plate and then we got them done at kino's super cheap and turned out nice. We also did them at last minute the night before we left which then my mom had to go finish them and bring them down, so i suggest doing them sooner. LOL!!!! We just totally forgot at last minute. HAHA!!! At least your thinking way a head of time. Originally Posted by AllieH Did you/are you guys doing a program for the ceremony?? And I don't expect it to be a long or elaborate ceremony either - not religious, no big singing or music or readings. I'm not even sure I want to do any sort of unity ceremony as part of it. I have fans and tears of joy packets for the ceremony itself, but I'm procrastinating big time on the ceremony planning. Curious to hear your thoughts...
  8. Feb2013- that's awesome!!! You won't be disappointed!!! I can't wait to see yours, I just love how everyone's look different in there own way too.
  9. Sansan- I agree with you completely best part of our money spent, I switched so many times and at last minutes picked sarani and I'm glad which switched to her she is wonderful.
  10. I loved her!!! She rolled around on the ground to capture shots almost fell off a chair, you don't even notice she is there. She does amazing work, i did the $1,800 package and she captured everything we asked for and more. I recommend her to anyone, hope this helps some. as
  11. You must be getting so excited, enjoy yourself and everything well work out, there amazing to work with. So no worries.
  12. It's a shame, that people do that, but We had a fantastic time and all our family and friends enjoyed themselves. Most of our group got upgraded to ocean view when they arrived which was awesome, so I am glad they got to experience that. FYI we used the out door shower the whole time, never used the indoor, we just loved it!!!!! It was my favorite thing of the swim up casita, we can't wait to head back next year. Originally Posted by chiquita8302 Congrats on your dress decision- I"m sure it will be perfect! I had assumed it was to wash the sand off of you before entering the suite but it was on the opposite side of the room from the patio so you trampled sand and water through the suite when coming in. Plus the shower head sprays water straight out and not down, it's impossible to shower or wash off out there." I just laughed so hard at all the negative comments this person had, and I"m so glad that I'm not marrying this person- way to kill the romance! I love that they can't think of anything better to do with the shower than to clean off the sand!! LOL
  13. That's horrible and she was just married in June. Has anyone done trash the dress?
  14. We got married on April 30th of this year and yes we did have a fee as well because they would not allow us to set up are decorations, it was actually not to bad of a fee. It was also nice not have our friends have to do anything, that way we didn't have to worry about them at all. The wedding coordinators took care of it, they wrote what we wanted down and did everything exactly the way we wanted it to be, it was perfect.
  15. mstigger: sorry about that, I would still send an invite to her, but maybe nothing fancy if she is thinking about not coming. It's really sucky situation to be in, I was there as well with some of my friends, but on that day all you truly care about is you and him and who really cared to show up, you forget about everyone else. I know it can get frustrating, but just remember it's all worth in the end because you get to marry your best friend. Originally Posted by mstigger Good morning ladies!!! What seemed like it was going to be a decent turnout has really kind of fallen off as everyone we seem to know has decided it's too expensive for them even though they were all on board when we booked it. So probably going to be a very small, intimate ceremony for us and just the dinner at their restaurant.....I am good with all of that, that's actually what I wanted all along but you know how it is when your parents get involved, they want you to invite everyone they know!! So, here's my venting part. My FI lives in WV and I live in SC, no problem there but I have friends in both states. I actually graduated from high school in WV. One of my HS friends was actually instrumental in getting my FI and I together for all of this good stuff, so I asked her to be my maid/matron of honor. I only wanted 1 and she was so great when I was debating our relationship, so anyway it appears I made a great decision by asking her. My BFF here in SC was so excited about the wedding, couldn't wait to go to Cancun even if she had to go alone for a long weekend. I went so far as to plan my date around her final exams as she is a Professor at a local community college. She went away on a cycling charity ride and came back to have this conversation with me via text: "Would you be really mad if I didn't go to Cancun for the wedding? I've just been thinking about it and it's a lot of money." I said of course not, I understand that it's expensive and we were hoping we could get someone to room with you to make it less expensive. She then proceeded to tell me that if she was going to take a vacation that wasn't the kind of vacation she would take anyway and didn't want to spend that kind of money on a vacation she wouldn't enjoy. (She recently quit drinking and apparently thinks that's all there is to do there.) I just said that I understood and it was no big deal. Then she said that her and the group she was cycling with talked about biking through Italy next May and she would much rather do that!! I could not believe it!!!! So money was the excuse and then when it came down to it she just got a better offer!!! Sooooo, I'm disappointed in our friendship and hurt and a little pissed off. I know I should just get over it, but DAMN!!!! Oh and she wasn't even dating anyone and now she is engaged and getting married in May and going to Italy...... So, do I still send her an invitation or not bother wasting my time since my invites are messages in a bottle and a huge DIY project. Ok, that's it for now.....sorry so long and drawn out. I think I'm still a bit in shock, how can that be a BFF??
  16. We booked through our travel agent, but I just remember them saying to us/ telling us that we get a discount, so i was just wondering what it all was. I hope that its all the stuff you listed below once we book next year. We are either talking El Dorado again or Sea sides. Not for sure which one yet, but I guess we will decide more next year.
  17. Is anyone planning to go back on their one year anniversary? We for sure are, I am just wondering what we all get for going back on our one year. Does anyone perhaps know at all? Thanks.
  18. We did the White Gazbo, I thought it really nice. I have some pictures to show from our photography Sarani...... Quote: Originally Posted by Onelove2013 Thanks for all the advice Ladies! How about Photos? That is my MOST IMPORTANT thing! Did you guys go with the resort photographer or someone outside?
  19. I believe there was or you might have to go into the water to find some because some of our guests did find some, but they do snorkel and scuba dive.
  20. Jen- I love your dress, I did an Alfred Angelo dress to, it was so nice to have a light weight dress because of the hot weather. Best of luck with the rest of the planning.
  21. We had enough time with them, just take everything you need to have set up and explain it, they write it down and they do a great job of setting up. We spent a while with them going over stuff and adding stuff at the last minute. There were like 3 girls in there helping and listening to what we all wanted.
  22. Congrats!!!! We ended up in the water to, our whole wedding party stripped down to there undies, it was was great way to end the night. Hope your enjoying married life.
  23. We went with Sarani and she is amazing to work with, I recommend her to everyone, she truly did capture our day and i love our wedding pictures. We are just waiting to get are wedding book back that we have created with her and she is on the ball to on keeping up with all the changes and updates we made to. You will be pleased with her, for sure worth every penny Quote: Originally Posted by chiquita8302 Yes, Ditto what Jill said, asmithpoulin... Ugh- life. But, again, not telling anyone. For photographers, I am super nervous. The only one that says they do any Photoshop editing that I saw were Sarani and Mexican Wedding... so we will definately be going with one of those if we don't work something out and decide to bring someone with us. I think such a big reason prof pictures look so nice is the color toning and all the other enhancements that are done in photoshop, so to me that is a big priority. My priorites tend to keep evolving as we go, though... so this is a more recent priority of mine! Jill... as for the luminary bags... I found some online cheap, too, and e-mailed Valeria to see if I could bring my own. I think you could get some cute punchers fromt he scrapbooking section to even add a little special touch. I saw on Etsy they sell customized ones, too. Did she say it's okay for you to bring yours? And for lanters... do you know how you're doing them for centerpieces? I'm torn between doing the rope lighting on the poles around tucanes versus the lanterns around the edges... i don't know how they'd light up, and the pre-lit lanterns are pretty expensive...
