Hi ladies, We are headed to Mexico on Monday because we were unable to go over our anniversary due to my husband's vacation time that had to be used by January. This time we are headed to Azul fives, we had to save on money since the trip was so soon. So we did funjet's deal ( Azul's fun for less) through our travel agent, where they e-mail you your resort a couple days before you leave, so you don't know which one you end up at. We are still very excited since we did tour all the karisma properties 2 years ago for our wedding. It however is a kid resort, but hopefully since kid's are in school we will not have as many. I will have to let you know how it end's up for future reference if anyone has kids.

You will not be disappointed, I had my wedding there in April and if I had to do it again, I would chose El Dorado Royale hands down. We loved it and loved everything about our day. You will be very pleased with everything. We used our Travel agent and she was amazing through the whole process. Also, stuff can add up, but bringing alot of your stuff down for the wedding is helpful. We also, didn't go crazy with thing's, we kept things simple. Best of luck with planning, you will enjoy your day!!! Quote: Originally Posted by JEM236 Hi Ladies! I am new to this forum. I just booked our wedding on May 31, 2013 at the El Dorado Royale. My FI and I chose a destination wedding because we both have small families and most of our friends and family are spread all over the place. I also didn't want to be a bride that had to pick details from a million different vendors and I want to be able to party and see my friends for more that a few hours. Plus who doesn't love the beach? Did you all use TA's? I found the rates to be better and we are only using her for the rooms, not airfare. I am super nervous because I have read some bad reviews about the site I used - destination weddings.com. I am also nervous about the how all the little extras from the resort will add up. I guess I am looking for some reassurance and some wedding buddies.

Do whatever you want, it's your day and yes we saved our money for the food and photography. Our reception just had candles and those clear rocks and pink beads as a centerpiece. I think if I did it again I wouldnt even have all that. Still glad we did ourselves vs what the resort would charge for center pieces.

LKocelko- I got married this year on April 30th and we were there for 10 nights, the weather was amazing during this time, we had no rain what so ever. I also, truly feel the Casita is worth the extra money with the free wedding package because you got more in the free one rather than the cheapest one which i believe was $900 something. If you go to the lomas site and compare you well see you get more with the free one. We also, had about 30 guest including us and had a private reception at tucanes which was worth the extra money to have that private alone time with our guests and we were able to pay our own music, which we played off our ipod with there amp they provided, we also brought our own decorations with us too. Hope this helps some.

We didn't do a cocktail hour either, everyone just went to have drinks at joe joes and we met everyone back at Tucanes for the reception after pictures were done.We did the BBQ buffet and everyone could go up for seconds, there was lots of choices and it comes with dessert, so we didn't do a cake either. We just feed each other the tiny desserts and you don't have to worry about food because there is plenty of it, everyone said it was amazing. They had different kinds of meats that came fresh off the grill where the cooks were cooking it and the sides were just as great. Everyone was a big fan, it was the talk of our wedding, but whatever you pick well turn out amazing. They have such great food and amazing cooks. We used the cocotail for our rehersal the night before our wedding and it was nice, we started at 6pm and they put us near the back with everyone and as we were getting done people were coming in, so it really worked well for us. Best of luck with whatever you pick. Hope this helps a bit.

Hey!!! It was for sure a warm one, but I rather have that then rain. We got married later around 5pm and then took pictures after and started our reception at 6pm at Tucanes, it was really nice, since we did things later in the evening . We just had lots of water and the bridesmaids and I would sneak off and dip our feet in the pool, it was lots of fun. We actually all ended up stripping down to our bra's and undies and jumped in at the end of the night, it was so much fun. I also, ended up wearing my hair up because of the weather too, but they did an amazing job, so it was all worth the heat. I wouldn't change the way we did things for anything, I was just so pleased that the whole 10 days we were down there, there was no rain and that everyone enjoyed themselves. Best of luck!!!!

I am glad you had such a great time and were able to tour everything before hand, I can't wait to hear more about it and the changes that you have made. Good luck with all the planning!!!!! I also hope you guys had a few drinks since you had to wait for your room, our guests had to go through the same thing, but got upgraded and just enjoyed some drinks. Best of Luck!!! We toured all of the wedding sites and I'm so glad because we changed everything that we had decided on.....imagine that!! I will say that when we first arrived there was a bit of a problem and we had to wait FOREVER for our room and I was not so certain I had made the right decision as far as wedding location, but once that was resolved we had an absolutely amazing time. I will post some pics soon and more details. CONGRATS Oneill12......your pictures are great and I love how you kept it simple with only white. Just BEAUTIFUL!!! I love your starfish as well.....I'm thinking of doing something similar!
