I am getting married at La Concha on June 21, 2013. My wedding coordinator is Rosalina Torres. She is wonderful! She has helped me get a photographer (Tuty Feliciano), DJ (Jose Concepcion), officiant (Cory Casterton), decorator, and baker. And she has helped get me better deals on their services! If anyone has any questions, let me know!

Hey ladies! Just thought I'd give a heads up for anyone that is interested in the Vistaprint Groupon again. It's the same one they've been offering... $17 for $70 worth of products from Vistaprint. Ends Saturday at midnight! Search under Baltimore. http://www.groupon.com/deals/vista-print-baltimore?c=all&dl=d47388&p=11

Sugar starfish help-
l2koster replied to Antigua14's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I ordered the 12 8-10" sugar starfish off Ebay for about $40, free shipping. I believe it was the same seller that you looked at, they just had multiple postings. I thought that was a really good deal until I read this thread! But it may still be a good deal if the shipping at Bamboo and Thatch ends up being a lot. -

OMG MsBlissMpls, I am IN LOVE with your dress!!!!! It looks gorgeous on you! What kind of material is it? Just wondering if it was heavy or if you were hot in it. -
I'm a PR bride as well!!! Still in the beginning stages of planning. I hired a wedding planner and I'm working on booking a resort/venue. Our date is June 23, 2013. I can't wait to hear your opinions of different venues! When are you going to visit? Do you know what venues you're going to look at? I've never been to PR before, and unfortunately I won't be able to visit before our wedding. Good luck with your trip!

I'm a current PR bride!!! There doesn't seem to be many of us on here. I don't really have any advice to give yet, because I am still in the beginning phases as well. We are getting married June 23, 2013, but do not have a resort yet. We are thinking El San Juan Hotel & Casino or La Concha Resort, but they all seem so expensive, so that could change. The Water & Beach Club Hotel looks great! Who is your wedding planner?

Are you paying for your bridesmaids dresses?
l2koster replied to jawedding's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
JordannaMarie, do you mind if I ask what store you found your dresses at? I'm totally with you in the fact that I don't really want traditional bridesmaid dresses. I want something they can wear again and again, with a cute beachy look. And that price tag doesn't hurt either! -
Asking friends to be bridesmaids -
l2koster replied to sunlover2013's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I made sugar cookies using cookie cutters from Surlatable.com. I used a dress, high heel, heart, palm tree, and an engagement ring for the shape of cookies. They're only like $1 each. Then I decorated them and wrote things like "will you be my bridesmaid?", the date of the wedding, location of wedding, etc. I mailed them to my girls because most are in different states, along with a framed photo collage of the two of us (cheap 5x7 frame from Michaels), with a poem in the middle. The poem read "It's hard to believe that in just a little while, James and I will be walking down the aisle, Nothing would give me more joy and pride, Than to have you there by my side, Will you be my Bridesmaid/Maid of Honor?" I found the poem and collage idea on another website, I'm definitely not that creative! I also put a card in the box too, just explaining how important they are to me but how I would completely understand if they couldn't stand up. The girls LOVED it and they all called me up right when they received it and said yes. If you're mailing sugar cookies though, make sure you wrap each cookie individually in plastic wrap, then put in one of those cheap tupperware containers, with bubble wrap surrounding the cookies in the container. Just make sure there's no space for the cookies to move around in the container. My girls said a few cookies were slightly cracked but nothing horrible. Here are some pics... -

Hey PuertoRico2013. When are you getting married? I don't think there are many PR brides on here anymore, so it's nice to see one that has posted in the past few months! I just got engaged a month ago and we want to get married in the San Juan area in June 2013. I know it's a ways away from Rio Grande, but have you made any progress on vendors in your area? Do you have a wedding planner?
-
Hey Brianna, I know this is an old thread, but I was hoping you could share some info with me, since you already got married in PR last June. What venue did you get married at? And would you recommend it? I am newly engaged, and we definitely want to get married in the San Juan area in June 2013. I haven't chosen a hotel/venue, but I have a list of about 10 places I'm interested in. They all look so great, it's hard to choose! When I've called they all say they don't have prices yet for 2013 and I can't reserve a date yet either because it's too soon. Aparently I can't do anything until a year in advance? So right now I'm just trying to get all the info I can on different venues. Thank you so much for any help and advice!!!
