  1. Sorry to hear!!! I'm on the 20th and haven't heard anything yet, but that may just be because they are slow lol. If they know 2 weeks in advance for your wedding then it might be something major.... :-(
  2. Taxes and fees that you have to pay to have some things imported into Canada.
  3. Nope! I don't know the real rules, but I find that any orders from USA I pay duty on, and any orders from China I haven't had to pay duty on.
  4. Her name is Manal and she works out of her home, but also does tailoring for wedding shops. She lives on Saskatchewan Drive. tel: 780-224-1850.
  5. I just posted this in another forum, but I ordered sunglasses from DHGate and they are awesome. About 75 cents each from this seller http://m.dhgate.com/prodetail.do?proid=ff80808138a2df180138b847813a04bc They shipped fast and come in awesome colours.
  6. The sunglasses that I ordered from DHGate arrived and they are awesome!! They came to 75 cents each, free shipping, and arrived in about 2.5 weeks. Minimum order of 20. I donno if this link will work, but this is the seller I bought it from (glitter2009): http://m.dhgate.com/prodetail.do?proid=ff80808138a2df180138b847813a04bc Here is a pic[/img]
  7. I got them from Factory 21 too. I'm really happy with them! Duty was $50 ish. They quoted me 60-70 in duty though, so it could be slightly higher. [that's on the 100 mug lot].
  8. What a fun thread! I'll have to post mine when I get it back from the tailors.
  9. Have you tried American Apparel? I know they have those long circle scarfs, I donno if that's what you're looking for. Haha I should change my notification settings for this website. I'm on the computer 14 hours a day now prepping for my final exams, and I get immediate notifications for all my threads so I'm sure spending a lot of time on this website lol
  10. I'll let everyone know how wedges worked in late January when I return, if you can wait until then to get your hemming done hehe
  11. Congrats!! What happened with the DJ?!? How many guests did you have, and what restaurant did you use?
  12. Thats the way to do it! Haha I've had about 5 people call or message me today saying 'I bet last night was rough for you'... I guess that everyone whose been through it knows, but why didn't anyone tell me in advance!
  13. Thanks! He's not home yet haha, which is the worst part! I know once I see him I'll be comforted, but right now I'm just mad. When planning it I understood that he would want to stay in the hotel with all his buddies after drinking all night. But now I'm like WTF was I thinking haha. It's such a weird feeling since I trust him 100% and we have never had any fidelity issues or anything, and we normally party separately. Something about this night just set me off. But apparently it happens to most brides-to-be, so I figured Id warn people lol. My bachelorette party is Jan 5th... I don't even want one but my bridesmaids insisted, so I told them to keep it low key. Just some bubbly and appetizers. No male strippers, no penis decorations haha.
  14. My fiance had his bachelor party last night. I am normally not a jealous person at all, we always party apart, but for some reason it was seriously emotional for me. So if you guys haven't gone through that yet, be ware! I wish someone told me it would be a rough night lol I had a couple of my married friends call earlier in the night and thought it was sweet, but unnecessary. But it was definitely helpful at 4:00AM lol. I'll undoubtedly be calling all my friends when their fiances are out now lol. Otherwise, under 6 weeks until the wedding! Things are getting so much more fun and less stressful!
  15. I think that most of your guests need to be at the resort where the wedding is held, but call the wedding coordinators directly and plead your case. I've heard that they are lovely in person, but they take forever by email and often don't address the issue that I wrote them about.
  16. Haha and if they don't arrive in time for my wedding then I will re-sell them on here
  17. The are just under $1 a piece, free shipping. But DHGate has mixed reviews, I've known a lot of people who used it and had no problems, but others have been scammed. I figured I'd take the risk for the price, and the seller has good reviews at least. I'll update this thread when (and if lol) they come in.
  18. I ended up buying these sunglasses for our guests: http://www.dhgate.com/20pcs-hot-sale-classic-style-sunglasses-women/p-ff80808138a2df180138b847813a04bc.html Hopefully they arrive in time lol Im still 6 weeks away, but you never know when shipping from China lol
  19. Here is mine: For our invitations, we had a formal fancy one, and then included a pamphlet since we couldn't fit everything on the fancy card. Here is our fancy card: Would be delighted for you to attend their wedding in Montego Bay, Jamaica. For details of the destination wedding package please see the included pamphlet. Please also save the date for a dinner and dance reception in Edmonton when we return. June 1, 2013 Details on this reception will follow closer to the date. We urge you to put the cost of any wedding gift towards your Jamaican travel expenses. To book your Jamaican trip please contact the travel agent noted in the pamphlet as soon as possible, and preferably before April 20, 2012. And here is our pamphlet [or at least the only draft of it that I can find...]: Hello Everyone! wedding trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica will be from January 18-25th, 2013. The resort we have chosen is the Iberostar Rose Hall Beach. We've heard great things about the Iberostar resort: great food, great service, free flowing liquor, and amazing grounds. Jamaica is known for its spectacular sprawling beaches, tropical beauty, reggae music, the ‘island spirit’ of the people (…marijuana?), and the average 29 ̊C temperatures in January. While in Jamaica you may want to go golfing on the stunning courses in Montego Bay, go tube riding on the lazy rivers, go scuba diving in famous dive spots, visit the luminous lagoon where the water glows blue in the complete darkness, climb the Dunn’s River waterfalls in Ocho Rios, or let loose and visit the nude beaches which Jamaica is famous for! The Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival is in town while we are there too, which features a variety of reggae, jazz, and blues artists, and in past years has featured major artists ranging from Maroon 5 to Kenny Rogers to Gladys Knight... 2012 had Celine Dion. The total cost of the all-inclusive vacation is $1800/person from Edmonton, which includes airfare, hotel, food, alcohol, and all taxes. The deposit is $250/ person. The deposits are not officially due until September but it is likely that space will fill up by this time. The plane only holds 120 people and we are expecting a large group, so we urge you to put down your deposit as soon as possible. Final Payment is due on September 23, 2012. Please note that the taxes are subject to change, but it is unlikely to change more than $40 or so. The tour company is Sunquest, with the flight being supplied by WestJet. As Sunquest only has an allotment of half of the plane, any seats above that allotment may be subject to an additional $75 charge. We urge you to book as soon as possible so that you can avoid this extra charge.
