  1. You would think that they would warn us that they are only tentative!!! Is this the travel agent or Sunquest that has left me unprepared? If sunquest does cancel our seats, are we shit out of luck? Will we be looking for seats anywhere we can get them, at whatever price?
  2. URGH!!!! K I will email my TA right now. Glad you warned me, but very stressed and worried right now!!!
  3. Yea we have a travel agent. He had said all along that it was subject to availability.... I just didnt think that meant 60 people... and I dont think that he believed me when I said 70 was a realistic number to expect. Sunquest has a deal with WestJet, so that they are allocated half the plane, and since it is only a 120 person plane= 60 seats to Sunquest. Booo on WestJet Vacations!
  4. oh my god that is frightening!!! keep us posted about what your travel agent says!!
  5. I bought organza ones from this website and they are very nice and very cheap: http://www.tableclothsfactory.com/tablecloths-Table-Linens-Chair-Covers-Sashes-s/6.htm I haven't heard about anyone ordering the satin ones, and I don't see the clover colour, but for the price it might be worth it to look at a different colour. (there are about 40 colours to chose from). Good luck!
  6. I think it would be cute for you to be the only girl up at the front! You could just have one of his groomsmen stand beside you to balance it out better.
  7. We got a quote for IRHB for January 18 2013 from Toronto for only 1577.... I would get them to check again!!! We are coming from Edmonton but only a few guests from Toronto. Try a different travel agent! And definitely get a group quote.
  8. Has anyone else had problems with having too many guests coming from the same city on the same day, that the tour company can't accommodate it? I original got a quote from Sunquest, and put that in my invitations... within 2 days we had 68 people book, only to find out that Sunquest only has 60 spots available to go to Jamaica each week. To book the rest of the guests we need to go through a different tour company which is a different price and potentially a different plane. The only other tour company offering something on that day is WestJet Vacations, which is TERRIBLY NOT FLEXIBLE at all! For a WestJet quote we need at least 10 ROOMS booked (20 people), but can't have MORE OR LESS without the price changing again.... It doesn't look like we have enough people to get a group from WestJet on top of our 60 from Sunquest (since many from different cities), so guests will have to book individually through WestJet to get a spot on the same day. Has anyone else run into this? This is turning into a VERY STRESSFUL destination wedding!!
  9. For the Brides getting married here in the next 2 or 3 months, are you concerned about it being the 'rainy season' in Jamaica? My weather network says it looks like thundershowers every day.... is this accurate? I'd like to take a early trip to check things out but I'm afraid of being rained out, but with this many brides booking weddings in these months I hope I am missing something!
  10. For everyone's reference: I emailed factory 21 and they said that they will keep drinks cold for hours and are well insulated. For Canadian Brides: I am thinking of ordering through ebay, where they direct you to "myBorder Pro" to estimate customs/ duty. This website said it would be $170 to Alberta. I emailed factory 21 to see if they could ship it a different way and they said they are flexible with shipping, but that this website has given me a wrong estimate. Customs and duty will likely come to 60-80$ shipping via UPS ground, or if we went with USPS then only $25 but the shipping would be $128. This is for the 100 mug lot. Cheers
  11. Does anyone who has ordered Factory 21 plastic mugs know if they actually work to keep drinks cold? Or if the plastic is too thin/ they are not insulated at all inside? Also, do the lids fit straws in them? Thanks!
  12. These are perfect!! I will have to show them to my fiance. Do you know what the lid looks like? I want to be able to put straws in them. Thanks!

    Budget

We are going to Jamaica, and the cost per guest from Edmonton, AB, Canada is 1800/person. Mexico is much more cost effective than Jamaica, and you get about the same quality. We just wanted to go somewhere that a lot of our guests hadn't been before. Cuba is pretty cheap too (although not sure about going there if you are from the States). We went to the Iberostar Varadero there last year for a wedding and it was STUNNING and quite cheap (1350 per person). But we've been to pretty shitty resort there before so read reviews first!
  14. Have you ordered a deal from this site before?
  15. Thanks for the advice!! At what point in the day did you have the steel drum band? Not quite sure when to hire them for. thanks!
  16. What's your budget like? And what have you got the other groomsmen? I would just get him something similar to what the groomsmen are getting.
  17. We invited just over 250, since we both have big families (thats about 200 of them). 9 Months out and 88 have booked. We budgeted for 100 max. Before we sent them out we had a good idea of who would forsure come, and for 'maybes' we counted them as 1/2 a person, and then we added 20% for people who could surprise us. So far it worked out to be pretty accurate. The hard part was going to the travel agent to look for different costs and saying ' we will likely have between 40 and 100 guests' hehe. Turns out most tour companies from my city can only take 60 guests, so we've had to work with 2 companies :-(

    Budget

I'm at the Iberostar Beach, and my Budget is $14,000. We have 88 people coming so far but I budgeted for 100 just in case. This price includes my Dress ($2000) and the bride and groom trips there (free since we are bringing so many guests), and the ceremony, private dinner, OOT bags, flowers, makeup and hair, extra suitcases, decor (chair sashes, table runners, and fake jewels), mento band, DJ, and about a thousand for miscellaneous costs.
  19. All the Roses by Natalie Imbruglia: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKDIrAzM3QE This year's love by David Gray: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eo-tp0JZvUA Use somebody Cover by Pixie Lott: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5o8L-Or0O4 Beast of Burden by Rolling stones: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8On3UiBOTdQ Will likely change things up as we get closer to the date, but this is what we are thinking for now.
  20. I'm only doing one bag per couple $10, and for the singles its about $7. We've got about 88 people coming so far (and still 9 months out), budgeted roughly $500 total. Here are pictures of what we have so far, but we are planning to add Lip chap, ring pops, and condoms (hehe): The bag is a bit roughed up, because I keep opening it and looking at the stuff then stapling it shut again... As for giving them out, I think we are going to bring everything in a suitcase (or 2) in their individual packages, and then spend an hour with the wedding party sorting them into bags and taping them shut. Nor sure when we will give them out, with 88 guests we will probably only have everyone in one spot at the wedding night, and then I don't want people to have to drag them around... not sure!
  21. Ok I got mugs for the wedding party. I got the bubba Keg's, from Walmart in the Auto section (didn't have them in the Mug area), and they were 2 for $15. I saw someone else post that they were going to get theirs engraved and I will do the same thing. So on top of where it says Bubba Keg we will engrave the persons name (Ex Jenna's Bubba Keg) Here is what they look like: http://www.amazon.com/Bubba-Keg-Travel-Mug-Black/dp/B000WMAPMO/ref=sr_1_5?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1336763240&sr=1-5
