  1. Jolene028, do you have an idea of how much you would like guests to pay? I went to a destination wedding in Cuba last year, at the Iberostar Veradero, for about $1500pp after taxes (from Edmonton). I thought that was a really good price. The resort was AMAZING, and their wedding service was really well done!! Be careful in Cuba, I went a second time that year to a 4 star and it was totally disgusting. I think it was the Barcelo Solymar & Arena Blancas. Read reviews because their stars don't really mean anything there. See if you know anyone whose gone to the resort you're chosing before you commit. And you have TONNES of time, don't worry about it!!!!!
  2. To repeat what a bride asked in another thread: Does anyone have any pics for the bridal bouquet that is included in the package for the Beach resort?
  3. Im going to bump this thread.. Also interested in seeing what is included in the package.. I hear an upgraded bouquet is $140. (and since it says it comes with a 'small bouquet', I'm sure more people upgrade). For that price I may as well get a real touch bouquet made.
  4. I just saw this in another thread as an idea for Save the Dates which I think is really cool: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/81056/semi-diy-scratch-off-std-tutorial.
  5. The more I think about this, the more jealous I get of your website haha. I really wish I had done something like this... I know it's not too late since my wedding is in January, I just dont want to have to mail out another package to the 100 people coming. But maybe I should anyways with a packing list and some details etc.
  6. I'm nervous too, and I have irritable bowel syndrome which is irritated by stress haha.. I'm worried I'll be stuck in the bathroom while the guests all wait in the heat.
  7. I love the website!! You've clearly put a ton of work into planning the wedding and website! Don't feel bad that people haven't signed the guestbook, I'm not sure I would have if it was my friends or family, but I definitely would have spent a lot of time reading everything and enjoying the website. Do you mind if I ask about how you charted a bus/van to do the excursion to Dunn's falls?I'm definitely interested in something like this with my group. Thanks!
  8. Thanks!! I hope so too, but I get the feeling they are pretty tight on time as it is. Glad you're trying though!
  9. Does anyone know a travel agent that specializes in Moorea / Tahiti/ Bora Bora? Id like to go there for my honeymoon and would like someone who knows something about the area and who can arrange a package
  10. They are just what I am looking for, thanks! Would you recommend them?
  11. These are fabulous! I like how you put an hour for the guests to do their own thing before dinner in the program for the wedding day... I wasn't sure what to do with them at that point while I get formal wedding pictures. Great deals on the Mugs too! Really well done!
  12. I second the Iberostar Rose Hall Beach in Montego Bay. January 20, 2013.
  13. I saw some at Winners and Homesense last night (Edmonton, Canada).
  14. I like the way you phrase that, "less than feminine". I have a 'less than feminine" personality which is why I'm dreading photos on the day of the wedding. The thought of feigning 'sexy' or 'angelic' is not something I'm entirely comfortable with.
  15. OK i re-read my contract and yea there is nothing about that in it. I think I was looking at this: http://www.weddingsbyiberostar.com/iberostar_rose_hall_wedding_packages.htm There is says that it is minimum of 3 hours for international bar at dinner, no minimum for cocktail hour. Does anyone know if we can have the bon fire at the Beach resort, or only at the suites/grand?? And I think I read at one point that the bonfire came with a DJ and a bar... I assume those costs are extra? anyone know? I'm doing a trash-the-dress, but only because my photographer said she would do it for free as a wedding present. Otherwise I wouldn't have spent any extra money on it. I found a dress from a lady on here, for $50+shipping and it looks similar to my real dress, so I'm happy with that
  16. Has anyone been to Moorea lately, and could comment on their hotel?
  17. BeautifulBrideToBe, I'd also love to see a picture if you have any!! It sounds awesome! Destination Girl, I think that most girls know not to wear a white dress to a wedding without you telling them not to. Men may wear a white dress shirt but I don't think that would be a problem, I'm sure they aren't wearing a full white suit haha.
  18. I've heard that the sun goes down early in Jamaica.. do you think it will be sunset at 5 when you are getting married? I would like yo do a cocktail hour, but I think that I read in my contract that it cost so much per person, per hour, for a minimum of 3 hours... Do you know if that is true?
  19. Can you tell how hard at work I am today? haha
  20. I was hoping to do laser hair removal before the wedding too, but didn't realize you needed to wait 8-10 weeks before treatments for some areas of the body (armpits)... I'll only get 3 treatments in before the wedding. Boooo! I still got a groupon for it last week though for Silky Skin Laser & Esthetics. Has anyone had laser in Edmonton and would recommend a place?
