  1. I am just paying for their flight and accommodation, and since we have a lot of guests it is free for us because we get $6000 in free travel credits. She will then take pictures for 3 hours on the wedding day and do a trash the dress shoot the following day. She will edit the pictures and give them all to us on digital discs so we can have digital copies and print out as we wish. This beats a lot of photographers which charge for the photography service PLUS $5-$10 per picture. If we didn't get free travel credits then it may be most cost effective to hire someone down there. Plus I only heard of this girl because she's a friends sister, she doesn't do destination weddings normally.
  2. Has anyone else heard of this $55 per person for dinner thing before??
  3. We have bought the same white dress shirt and tan dress pants for all the groomsmen and for my fiance and I don't know how to get him to stand out. He doesn't want to wear a vest or a jacket because he sweats a lot. I like the idea of him having a different boutonniere, but I really don't think he will wear it all night because he's a big dancer and I think it will get in the way of his flashy moves :-S haha. Any other suggestions for how he can stand out?
  4. So I handmade my bouquet from real touch flowers from Michaels. It came to $45 for all supplies. And then I took it into Chintz & Company in Edmonton to add a few embellishments and WOW Sue is amazing there!! If you're looking to get a fake flower bouquet I would 100% go there! She let us take the space we needed and pull every flower that we thought would look nice, and then recommended what to add where and how to incorporate it. I ended up spending an additional $55, which included 1 flower, foliage, and the ribbon around the hand part and some diamonds on the handle too. I think normally there would be a charge for designing it too but since I had the majority done already (and since shes so generous) she didnt charge me. So she may normally charge, and I'm sure it's worth it, but even if you want to put it together yourself they have an awesome supply of flowers. I almost wish I hadn't gone to Michaels first. Anyways here is my bouquet before: And here it is after. It looks Much better in real life!
  5. Im pretty sure the Huppa is what comes with the Beach, and the arch is what comes with the Suites and Grand resort.
  6. I have about 100 extra business cards for tip/ key holders if anyone is going to Jamaica in 2013. They look like this: Free if you want to pick them up in Edmonton. I live in Riverbend but can have them at my parents in Country Club (by Callingwood) if thats easier. FYI I got my lanyards and zip badge holders from ebay at gcishopinline. Together they look like this:
  7. I think this is great but I think it will be too expensive for me to host a meet and greet for 90 guests. It will take me a few extra suit cases, but I'm going to pack them and pay $25 per extra suitcases to bring them down (getting guests to bring it for their second suitcase but we pay), and then get bridal party to assemble them down there. There is normally an information session the morning after you arrive where they tell you about the resort and the tours etc. At previous destination weddings I've been to this is where we organized a group trip. It may be possible to hand out the OOTs there? But that assumes that people will come to them haha.
  8. Here is a sticker deal: http://www.rdeals.ca/deal/14519/50-percent-off-stickers-at-stickeryoucom/edmonton I'm going to make stickers to put on my shot glasses. I made a sample at the website and a page of 36 2"x1" stickers came to 7.99, so you can get a lot with the coupon. And they are sun and water resistant!
  9. Has anyone gotten their teeth whitened? Is there a particular whitening system that has worked?
  10. Yea me too! We are around 90 now and you're right everything adds up! If I was going to do it I would just have like 25 out, I don't think everyone would use a pair, especially the men.
  11. I should mention that my lanyards/ badge holders are from Gicshoponline (ebay seller). Other finds in my shopping today, which I have no room for but are super cute. Koozies at Michaels for super cheap in fun glittery colours, may be nice for bridesmaids. I would get them but not sure they serve beer in cans in my resort: Beach towel bags at Superstore for $4 Flipflops at michaels for 85 cents
  12. Michael's in my city has flipflops on sale for 85 cents each It's the space that Im worried about too
  13. My Tip/room key holders have arrived from ebay. They are great! really sturdy plastic and the lanyards are good quality! To Edmonton, I paid $40 total (after shipping) for 100 badge holders and 100 lanyards. Here is a pic: Also, if you're looking for some cute OOT items or favours for women, I saw these are Pier One today in Edmonton and they are really nice, I think $6.50 each.
