I am sure I have placed this somewhere else in the thread, but I will recommend her again. Our planner/ travel agent is Ophellia McKnight from Bridal Affaire Destination. She is great to work with and specialises in Jamaican Destination Weddings. She is doing the full wedding planning and travel arrangements for us, but she does split it up as well. She is FULL of information about Jamaica and can offer several different options which I like. We are using her from afar and there is lots of emailing and phone calls.

We are using a private wedding planner and having our wedding at Firefly. I couldn't imagine having our wedding anywhere else. The only trouble is arranging all the vendors etc. It's a good thing that we have a wedding planner for that. I know price wise Tropical Weddings Jamaica varies depending on what you want. Something to keep in mind, which I definately did not think of, is if you want to have your reception at the same location. We are doing that and have to book a tent and stuff which added to the final costs that I was not expecting.

Our wedding planner has told me that the wedding coordinator at our resort ROR would definately arrange to get the bags to guests rooms. I am sure if you contact them closer to the date it should not be a problem! I wish I would have seen those welcome bags sooner, but I have already started buying stuff for ours. I do plan on picking up some "Jamaican touches" like banana chips when I am in Jamaica and add them in the bags for guests to snack on.

Cindy B, I was thinking the same thing. Maybe they are just not booking the rooms yet privately. I would for sure contact a travel agent to be sure. Seems odd that it would be all booked up already!

I forgot to add in my last response to you that Ruth is able to add more pages no problem if you want to include more info about the Carribean for guests. Where are you from?? Yes, we are doing OOT bags. We have bought some things (the bags, insulated cups, hand sanitzer, and aloe lotion). Not sure how much of it will be in the wedding colors yet. How about everyone else? Doing OOT bags in wedding colors?

It is the Canadian emblem, just altered to fit the destination wedding theme. We used a wedding planner/ travel agent and she has taken care of all of our guests travel needs. I would recommend getting connected with a good travel agent that has experience in destination weddings and can arrange all the travel for you and your guests. The you don't need to worry about finding answers for everyone because that is the TA's job . We do have family coming from Australia, but everyone else is coming from Canada. Hey! I saw these the other day at Walmert. They were $1.57. They didn't have much. I bought 12 and that was all the stock they had at the walmart I went to.

The silly part is that we have a wedding planner that should be doing this all for us. Our family just did not say that to her (obviously, because she is also the TA). Just extremely frustrated. I think it will be a lot better once the booking is all finished!! anyone else who books late will be a bonus (won't help us financially, but that's not the point right?)

I totally have a vent to add. It is not necessarily about people making specific requests, but more about people not telling ANYONE what their requests are! Some of our guests is refusing to book with our TA because she is out of town and they don't want to book over the phone. I am trying to arrange an alternate plan for them, but they just told me this the day before the booking deadline!! So frustrated!
