ahahahaha It's a "Manitoba" Thing. It is pretty much a big party (kinda like a reception) usually held at a commuinity centre to fundraise for things such as weddings. Usually the people make money off of "silent auction prizes" and booze. It's a good time

I am from Manitoba (as you know). I am not having a social because it seemed like too much work for me. Is your social the 20th?? There seems to be sooooo many socials that days. 3 people at work alone are having socials that day. CRAZY

Shipping is super expensive from there, but if you ship to a mailbox service in the USA (we have one just accross the border in North Dakota and they only charge $5 for packages) it is much cheaper as long as you are willing to go for a ride.

I think it looks good! I might try to do that. I tried bending the wire a certain way (hard to explain), but I will post it whehn I get home. I almost finished the "mother of the bride" hanger and then I ran out of wire so there is no "e" at the end of "bride". So frustrated, but good thing the wire is pretty cheap. Thanks for the suggestion. I may try that for the "mother of the groom" because I don't really like the "t" I did. Considering, I am not the craftiest person, I sure took on a lot of DIY for this wedding. lol!

hey ladies! I am sorry to change the subject, but I need some help. I am trying to compile a welcome book for our guests with info about the different restaurants at Riu Ocho Rios and the dress codes. Can someone please direct me where to find this information? I am completely lost and have searched for days!

Well we bought too many so if you take a look and still need a few extra's let me know. Depending on shipping we could sell you some, I would just be worried about them arriving in time! I kinda wish we had waited until they were cheaper, but I didn't want to risk not getting them. I am sure you will find something. I saw similar ones at Dollar Tree, the didn't have designs on them, but had colorful lids and straws! AND they are only 1.25! Check Dollarama too

Another option for avoiding bringing everything down you could give people the welcome bags at the airport before the flight (I guess this would only really work if most of your guests are traveling from the same place). My other suggestion would be to try to order some of the stuff before you go down to ensure that there is enough. Perhaps they could deliver to the hotel? I would just hate to plan to buy everything when at the destination and them not have the quantity you need. I am sure you can find a local vendors as Mexico is a popular wedding destination. Perhaps ask the wedding coordinator for suggestions? I think you have a great start with the items you plan to include. A great and easy personal touch is to print off personalised labels or tags to attach to some of the items. I really like the idea of addressing the post cards for people to send you well wishes or even to use like a guest book.

I don't mean to be a downer, but are you talking about the tumblers they had at Superstore at the begining of summer??? We bought 30 when they were 5 bucks and they recently went down to 2.50. I know our Superstore was out for sure already, so you better start hunting to get enough! How many people are you having? Your wedding is coming up very soon! have you got your bags yet?
