Hey Thanks, and we chose the terrace as opposed to the beach. Just from what I have been reading, I think the beach will not be personal enough with random onlookers, uninvited guests etc etc.I like the look of the terrace not to mention I'm sure our guests will appreciate having a roof over their heads on a hot, sunny Cuban day at 2pm in the afternoon. Should be a little cooler anyway, or so I hope. We have 58 guests so it should be a nice size. Not too many, not too little. Its coming up so quickly now, so so excited.....

Yes, the one thing I have learned is don't always go by all the reviews. First off some people are never happy, going to Cuba I am def going in with an open mind. I guess its just common sense for the most part. If its repetetive bad review then maybe something to consider. I know how nervous it can make a bride-to-be choosing a resort. I am at the point of no return haha. This resort (ILA) is booked and my wedding is all booked with all guests confirmed (58) and ready to go. I also noticed when brides have returned there isnt much feedback. I promise promise promise I will take notes for you guys, let you know about the good, the bad and the in betweens of everything I can. There was a post on here somewhere from a travel agent herself who got married at this resort and left very handy tips and absolutely loved this place. I am hoping for the same. One last thing to remember we arent there for your typical vacation, I believe the resort will go above and beyond for a wedding and make it as memorable as possible. Not that they shouldnt treat all guests this way but they dont.... Good luck ladies, and wish me luck haha 35 days and counting til I leave, 38 til I become married, YAY! All we can do is make the best of it, really, it is what you make it. Nothing can ruin this day for me, absolutely nothing, besides I have my best friend at my side, what more do I need haha.....

Try this email: [email protected] This is the email I have for Lisset. She has replied to almost every email which could also be because I am only 40 days away from getting married. Hope this helps.

One point that I think should be made is for those of you getting married in 2013, don't get stressed out if the resort does not email you back right away. This is very common and they will never leave anything too late, that certain things get missed. The closer the wedding the more responses you will get. I received an email saying they received my email and gave me a date and time back in March. I have been emailing them since March with little details/questions I had and they just finally got back to me last week. Couple other things to note, they will require you to photocopy and send by email (all individual emails as their system can only handle up to 1MB per email) a copy of the birth certificate and passport of each the bride and groom, as well as a copy of the passports for 2 witnesses that can sign at the ceremony for you (non relatives). They will also email you 3 or 4 attachements that will need to be filled out and emailed back as well. One is Mandatory Info and has all the info of the bride, groom, their parents and witnesses. Just fill it out by pen and scan and email it back, a general questionairre with questions regarding the dinner, flowers etc, all little things pertaining to the wedding. I will check if I still have these attachments and post them on here as well. Just to have. They may vary by resort but these are the ones they use at ILA. Hope this helps, I will post more info and pictures when I return as a married lady haha, end of Aug, 2012. So Excited!!!

@ Heathereve, I am attaching the packages that were emailed to me from the wedding co-ordinator at Laguna Azul. By looking at these three packages it seems only one is applicable to an actual wedding. One is called wedding show?? and does not include any legal documents, one is a Canadian/Cuban wedding with everything you would need for $800 and the third is just a renewal of vows package. See attachments. Renewal of Vows Package IBEROSTAR Cuba. 2012..pdf Wedding Package Canada TTOO y Clientes Directos 2012.pdf WEDDING SHOW Package IBEROSTAR Cuba.2012.pdf

Can anyone tell me are you allowed to swin in the pools at Laguna Azul at nightime? I know some places shut them down at night, I am hoping they are open. If someone who has been there can help me.......

Hi, I am getting married at Laguna Azul in Veradero in August 2012 BUT I have been to a wedding at Melia Las Dunas. They used the gazebo which is very nice but if you are having more than 20 guests it gets quite crowded. The ceremony was beautiful and right after everyone proceeded to the beach for photographs. Reception dinner was held at the Italian Restaurant which again was amazing. This resort is a little older but verywell maintained and the staff here were top notch, great service, best gardeners I have ever seen or met. They actually made our trip 100 times better. As soon as you wake up and leave your room we were greeted by them with beautiful tropical flowers for our hair. This was a daily event (nice way to start each day in Paradise) The ceremony itself was 25 minutes late but thats just the Cuban way, no rush or punctuality for anything. Just after speaking with the bride and groom (which are family) everything went very smooth and as far as a guests perspective it was AMAZING. The cost for that wedding without the package and dinner etc was 1440 per person but they did book extremely early which makes it a little higher. Good Luck.

Ok well I can't quite help you yet! Congrats on getting engaged, my fiance and I are also getting married at the Iberostar Laguna Azul this August, 2012. We have about 60 ppl attending so I will take notes on things you will need to know and do. I will take pictures for you as well and I will get names of good contacts to have or avoid haha. I know picking a resort can sometimes be overwhelming just not knowing what you will get. Hope you got a good price on the resort, I do know of ppl who have been here recently and rave that it is by far the best resort in Cuba, even said the food is good for Cuban standards. If you have never been to Cuba, just note the food is sub par, its edible but not the greatest. Buffett is the way to go so you can pick and choose what to try. Anyhoo I will be in touch when we return, good luck!
