  1. Renee will probably tell you that you have to go with Creative Punta Cana, but it you deal directly with the WEDDING DEPARTMENT IN PUNTA CANA theyll give you quotes, you can even work directly with Caribbbean Celebrations I would suggest if you want your wedding here send in your contract ASAP. Im getting Married March 15, 2013 and by March 10th of this year my desired wedding time slot was already booked  Rene didnt follow through or respond to emails and "stood us up" for our phone conference after we changed our work schedules to be available (My FI is a tech engineer and Im a teacher so middle of the day time for phone conference was problematic) she then emailed us 45 mins after out meeting time to say she wasnt able to speak with us. We're working through destinationweddings.com and she handled my switch that afternoon and the next day gave us the information for our new person (Lisa) who so far is awesome Fi and are are currently debating on a photographer
  2. ok ladies, here's the scoop.. The Miami office books decor through Creative Punta Cana, the prices are a bit higher and Miami gets a chunk of what you pay. Hard Rock PUNTA CANA books decor through Caribbean Celebrations and theyre prices are lower. you can get their info on the website and they will email you back a detailed quote, send them pictures and they can recreate what you want. They have a facebook page with photos you can glance as well. The owner Jacqueline is very prompt and thorough. You can even call directly to HRPC to verify (like i did) and they will be happy to email you a price brochure- be mindful of international colling cost though. I havent had my phone conference with Lisa yet but she has sent me a TON of photos, options, prices, and forms, so i feel a bit more secure now. Everything from dinner options (a variety of plated and buffet options with prices), ceremony location with resort maps (pictures and key with buildings numbered), reception location options with pictures, cocktail area options and cocktail menu options with pictures, entertainment options (equipment, dj, fire tossers, belly dancers, dominican bands and a bunch of others entertainment with prices for package), liquor options, spa price list, decor through Creative Punta Cana price list and pictures (wedding, reception, and cocktail) some wedding form that needed to be sent, and the venue reservation form to book reception or cocktail sites. she has been responding via emial in a timely manner. For those of you dealing with Renee and are unhappy YOU CAN SWITCH- we did .
  3. how were you able to book Michael Steingard for one day of photography when there is a no outside vendor policy?
  4. Lisa is still in training. She is scheduled to talk to me and FI on Tuesday about our wedding plans for March 2013, I'll let you know how it goes
  5. i know your big day has come and gone but i was wondering what you did for gf food options? where did you wed? was it all inclusive? were kitchen staff able to accommadate you? im facing the same issue and am having a fit about potentially having to bring gf cupcakes from Whole Foods all the way to the dominican republic so i can have "cake" on my wedding day
  6. do you mind eemailing me the plan as well? i cant open it [email protected]
  7. im bumping this topic with the hopes that more recent brides will post reviews, links or experiences with photographers. Im getting married at Hard Rock Punta Cana and would love to hear of any experiences with outside photographers
  8. Thanks, when i said per room, i meant per family/couple. i dont plan on doing them... yet, but once you get into this darn website you find yourself adding more things to the list because its so clever or cute. I just wanted a heads up, i was reading a post and someone got bags for $15 and I stated thinking FRANTICALLY $15 x 45 (guests)= $600 not including the stuff you put in the bag!!! cha ching, cha ching, cha ching. This has eased my worries:cool:
  9. Ive seen all the threads on OOT bags. Many brides have gotten great deals... some have not. When I do a rough calculation of the cost the numbers add up pretty quickly. Are these OOT bags PER GUEST, or PER ROOM?
  10. I kinda dont want to have a flower girl... for many reasons. i feel like it would create additional expenses and worries for my siblings theres no way i can include one niece without including my other niece and 2 nephews... my heart wouldnt let me if I add the 4 nieces and nephews we'll end up with a large wedding party which we wanted to avoid... thats why we chose a DW Is anyone else forgoing tradition and not having a flower girl, junior bride/bridesmaid, junior groom/groomsmen. The only child I want IN the wedding is FI's son, theres no way we could get married without him, but as far as any other little people... I can do without:(. Not because I love them any less but I dont want any additional worries for anyone, including myself. Part of me feel like Im depriving my family of the opportunity to take part in this specal day, and part of me feels like this is what i want and i should have it. Would i be a Bitch if i go toe to toe with FI about limiting our wedding party to bridesmaids (4), maid of honor (1), best men (2), groomsmen (3) and ringbearer (1-Son)? Anything beyond that creates more work for me as I (and many brides) by default end up doing all the planning and coordinating
  11. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/22860/will-you-be-my-bridesmaid-wording i saw some cut ides on this thread, hope it helps.
  12. The quote is per night per person for double occupancy both of you feel free to contact me if you have any more questions on the process, my email is [email protected] ~Jerriel Berry my destination wedding specialist is Camille and she is actually traveling to HRPC within the next couple of months so Im debating if ill even do a site inspection since i be working with someone in the states, its her job to see to it that me and FI are satisfied, i have full access to her (email, direct line, toll free line) and access to her managers who are very responsive
  13. where are the brides finding the "saphire collection" and other collections for the wedding? Can someone post a link with photos and potential prices, only thing see it the Colin Cowie or complementary packages, theyre nice but i would like to know of other options
  14. Im actually considering this as I am from Wisconsin and FI is from Houston. I know for a fact that I do have family who will not be able to travel to the Dominican Republic but are willing to drive from their homes for an AHR in Houston or WI. Not to mention there are various reasons why people cant attend the DW that has nothing to do with money (date conflict, no passport, other plans, fear of flying over large bodies of water, late stags of pregnancy, traveling to another country with children under 6 month) and I still would like them to be apart of our celebration. Slideshow and video will be nice, a simple menu and everyine is included

  16. I am so appreciative of the link posted. We too are sending STD/invites to family who wont be able to attend and wanted to know the proper way to say that we understand and youre still included. This was very helpful
  17. Has anyone done laser cut invitations? If so do you mind posting which company you used, pictures, or a brief review
  18. Im March 2013 at Hard Rock in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. I was engages less than a month ago and even though we started planning right away i already feel like i dont have enough time, but we are SUPER excited!
  19. were in the process of booking for march 2013 and were not having any problems with booking or prices. Right now a high quote is $250 per night but my quote is throught a destination wedding site and includes other incentives as well. Im so excited about the resort credit being extended
  20. This was so beneficial for me. When we first got engaged FI thought we could do it all for $6K, I was being reasonable and already had 15 as an absolute max, I dont think well get that high (its looking more like $10K) but i have spoken to brides who only paid out of pocket $4-5K and i cant figure it out. I now the extras are called "extra" for a reason but the part that i look forward to in the planning process id choosing decor colors, flowers, linen> I think the reasons theres were so low is because they kept everything standard that the hotel provided which is nice but we ewant our ceremony, reception, and entire trip to reflect who we are and therefor... its all adding up
  21. What are the rules for this gift? I thought it was something you were supposed to give him before the ceremony but things and traditions have changed so much over the years, are there any formalities to this anymore? I REALLY REALLY considering a second honeymoon for my FI. Our DW will be his first out of the country experience and he views extravagent international travel as a "once in a lifetime experience". He had his heart set on St. Lucia for our wedding and we chose not to because of the cost for our guests. I really want to take him there so he can see the mountains and the waterfalls which are things he raved about when he first began to research the island. Is a big gift (kinda self serving because Im always ready for a vacay) but I know for a fact he would absolutely love it. We dont marry until March 2013, my parents are contributing significantly (he doesnt know that yet), and we already have a 20% down payment for a home that we will begin searching for after we're married, so theres wiggle room in the budget for the cost of the trip. there arent many things that wow him or make him show or express emotions so i think its super worth it
  22. We are getting married in March 2013 and I am concerned about not having a wedding cake. I have Celiac disease and cannot under any circumstances consume foods made with traditional wheat flours including desserts. Im awaiting a reply on if I can get approval to bring a small 1 tier topper that is gluten free so I can rake part in the memorable portion of my wedding day, but im so nervous that i wont get approval. Has anyone else traveled and/or with dietary restrictions ( dairy free, food allergies, severe intolerances) and were accommodated by hotel staff. what were youre experiences? Even if it wasnt HRH but any other resort in Punta Cana
  23. Not sure why I couldnt figure that one out myself. I belong to so many diffrent forums and all the abbreviations seems to run together. You would crack up if you heard the suggestions I was coming up with when i was trying to figure it out. Any way, just wanted to post on how beautiful your TTD photos are. Is your dress ruined at the end or is it just wet and ridiculously dirty?
  24. would you be able to provide me with his webpage if there is one available
