I got married at Dreams Riviera Cancun on Saturday 12/8/12 at 3:00pm on the North Beach. Our reception was on the pool terrace. It was the most perfect day! I will write a review soon with photos, but I wanted to let you future brides know that they are awesome! Everything was absolutely perfect! I was really worried at first since I had not spoke to my wedding coordinator Gabi, but once I was there, she was really on top of things. These ladies know what they are doing. You have nothing to worry about!! The food was AMAZING! We had the Ultimate package and chose the sit down dinner with the beef and chicken. The shrimp appetizer was DELICIOUS, and all of our guests really loved the salmon appetizer as well. Our guests said the wedding food was the best food they had there, however all of the food at the resort is good! All of our guests said this is one of the best all inclusive resorts they had ever been to! Also, since we had 40 people, we skipped the cocktail hour and traded in the cost of food & beverage for the cocktail hour to accomodate our additional guests at the dinner reception. We also extended the reception for 1 hour. All of our guests went to the lobby bar for cocktails while we were getting photos. They did not seem to mind at all. We also got the Mariachi trio with our package and used them for the ceremony. The music they played during the ceremony was really beautiful and added to the authenticity of a wedding in Mexico. The DJ was awesome! We had Mauricio and we gave him a song list of songs we definitely wanted played. He also included some songs that got our parents and older folks out on the dance floor. Although we had the Ultimate package, we did hire an outside photographer to shoot our wedding and TTD. We hired Gonzalo Nunez. He and his assistant Giuliana were AWESOME!! I can’t wait to see his photos. However with the Ultimate Package, you get 50 photos from Adventure photos. We used these photos to take pictures of us around the resort. They did an amazing job too! It was great, because now we have 3 sets of different pictures. I will write more later, but I just wanted to say that you all are making a great decision by getting married at this resort!! How far in advance do you hear from the wedding planner? My wedding is a week from Saturday, and I have been emailing my wedding coordinator Gabby and have not heard a thing. I emailed her the Wedding planner form and still have not heard back. Getting a little nervous since I have had no reply. We arrive at DRC on Tuesday, December 4th. Our wedding is on Dec 8th. Hopefully this will be enough time??

Hello! I had a question about tipping. I know we need to tip, but how much on top of the 15% service fee. Plus who do we tip? Wedding coordinator? Bar? Photographer? DJ? (who is already $300 an hour, I wish I made that much!! :-P) Server? ?? Any ideas??

I just got the word document as well. However my planner has been switched from Eva to Gaby. She must be new??

How far in advance should I contact Eva? I realize they are busy with weddings everyday. I last heard from her in May to finalize our deposit and reserve our wedding date and spot. However I want to make sure I get all the other details down. My wedding is December 8th.

Does anyone know what the options are for the reception dinner. I am getting the Ultimate Package and I have received the menu options for the plated dinner. I see that some people opt for a buffet? What does the buffet include? For previous brides, do you recommend a buffet or plated dinner for the reception?

Savs, Are you getting a logo on your bubba kegs? Where are you getting them from? We were also thinking about getting them, with maybe our logo on them

The resort will charge a fee for an outside photographer, or you have to book the photographer as a guest for 1 night. From my understanding, as long as the photographer is a guest at the resort, there is no additional fee.

Do you have the centerpiece catalog and bouquet catalog? If so could you email it to me. My email is [email protected]. My wedding is on 12/8/12. I asked Evangelina about booking the DJ, and if I should book him now, and she said I should wait. I am getting uncomfortable with waiting. Have you booked the DJ yet, and if so did you go through Evangelina? Also, did you make your flower arrangements yet, as well as food, and Centerpieces? I have the wedding ceremony and location booked, but as far as the others, I am left in the dark.... Any advice would be extremely helpful!! Thanks! :-)
