I found that they did a really good job with the flowers. I suggest being SUPER specific on the 2 month form because it sounds like a lot of girls have had problems before me. I included photos of exactly what I wanted and acceptable alternative flowers in case the ones I wanted weren't in season. I also forbid certain flowers like babies breath and daisies that I didn't want at the wedding. These are the photos I included on my 2 month form that I found on the internet, and you can see above what I ended up with: (For the BM bouquet I requested spider mums as an alternative to the greenery found in these and more purple--I thought they really delivered!) If all else fails or you have second thoughts, the wedding coordinator double checks everything at your initial appointment. You can always bring more photos or specifics at that time.

Sorry I can't figure out how to post my pics with my review, so I'm posting them here. I don't have my professional photos yet, but will pass them along if I think they'll be helpful! Bridesmaid Bouquet---Loved them! Bridal Bouquet (I was hoping the berries would be more light green than yellow, but they weren't bad) Cake: (I ordered the topper off of Etsy) Young Female Judge: Paper lanterns hung in an X over the dance floor in the ballroom: PS. We brought a 'photobooth' background that you can see in the back left The Mixed Salad (sorry it's the only entrée I have a photo of at the moment) Example of lighting from DJ Doremixx: This is a photo of another wedding while we were there. Reception was poolside. Thought it was interesting that the paperlanterns were plenty of light

I don't have any experience with the Gold menu, but the Silver menu was great! I've just posted my review, but honestly I'm glad we didn't pay extra for the Gold. I had guests who had the surf & turf from the Seaside Grill and they said the lobster was rubbery, but I know brides on here that have said it was really good so it's hard to say. I'm sure you can't go wrong either way

Hi Rootkl!! I'm glad you're getting excited! And it sounds like you're planning ahead, which is a very good thing to do. I waited too long and it all built up. There is no such thing as TOO EARLY in wedding planning!! As far as a map, I'd just google them. Here is one I found (it's also for the 'timeshare' people that are at the resort if u want to check them out): http://www.unlimitedvacationclub.com/Resorts/Dreams/DreamsTulumResortSpa.aspx The resort really isn't that big. I was worried the ballrooms were forever away, but they really aren't. You can walk just about anywhere in 10 minutes or less. The Spa arranged the timing of my hair/makeup appt. I had a 5pm ceremony and they scheduled me at 12noon, which at first seemed really early, but in reality time just disappears during that day. Due to unforeseen complications (I'll explain in my review) I arrived at 1230pm and my appt lasted until 245pm. I ran back to the room, got into my dress and then met with my fiance for a pre-wedding photo shoot at 315pm. We were done by 345pm, I took photos with my BMs, the mothers, and the flower girl. And we had ordered room service to be delivered at 4pm for a little bit of 'down time'. Next thing I knew, my dad was at the door and it was time to go! Give yourself lots of extra time.

Yeah, the Wine Cellar is "IN" Portofino the Italian restaurant, so it doesn't surprise me they've banned a DJ or dancing as you would hear it in the main restaurant. As far as a side table, I had Anabel arrange for one at my reception at the entrance of the ballroom where I displayed a large map which the guests signed and had luggage tags as namecards. She did this without any extra charge. Also, I had old photos of our grandparents that I wanted displayed on the cake table. Apparently the cake table is usually a small round table, but she arranged for me to have a long rectangular one instead. It was perfect. I'm glad your cocktail hour isn't right after the ceremony. That will give guests time to get over there There is plenty of room to dance and the Mexican Trio there will be perfect. I kind of regret not having music at my cocktail hour so it will be wonderful! My guests' only complaint about that location was that there wasn't a breeze, which is surprising because you'd think on the 2nd story there would be one. Luckily air conditioning is just steps away inside the lobby.

Oh my goodness, did it EVER stay put! I literally pulled out 70-80 bobby pins at the end of the night. You'd never know it from the photos though. The Spa contacted me about 1 month prior and confirmed appointments for myself, mothers, bridesmaids, and flower girl. I got confirmation numbers, appt times, and everything. Being 'type A' I also confirmed once I got down there. Can I give some advice? The chapel and the wine cellar are right next door to each other and the Lobby is pretty far away from them. If I was you, I'd maybe consider the Sugar Reef Bar or the beach for the cocktail hour simply so the guests are not running all over the resort. Just a thought! We had dinner one night in the Wine Cellar and it was beautiful. Lovely service and ambiance, etc. I will warn you that the room itself is a rectangle with a large pillar in the middle--effectively separating it into 2 rooms. I'd probably try to put all the guests/tables on one side of the room/pillar and the dance floor on the other. Hope that helps!

AWH!! Thank you! I LOVE that show!! As far as your hair, rest assured you will look beautiful! Diana did a wonderful job in the salon. I got nervous at one point because it felt like she was putting curls instead of more of a 'weave/braid' and she let me see the back. She asked lots of questions and was very patient with me and took direction well! When is your wedding?

Just wanted to let you know that my hair and makeup were FANTASTIC. I had Diana at the Salon and she was very serious, but in a good way! No chitchat, all work. I showed her some simple hair ideas that I had, but then I had a print out of Kate Middleton and this complicated knot at the very end. She looked at me and in broken English asked me if this was what I really wanted. I said yes and she said in her way that if that was what I wanted that was what I was going to get. And it blew everyone that saw me away! She also did my make up. I showed her a picture and she confirmed that I wanted golds/warm colors then went to work. It was a little heavier than I'm used to, but it looks fantastic in the photos. Be sure to bring a lipstick or gloss to touch up throughout the day. The bridesmaid hair was not quite as ideal, but it wasn't bad. My sister had a side bun and my other bridesmaid had curls in the back. It was clear that Diana was the 'Pro' and was directing the other salon workers on how to do the hair!

Hi KristinT, During our initial meeting with Anabel, we were debating whether or not to extend our reception until 11pm. I told her that the price was what was holding me back and she allowed us to extend it for $10pp. If I were you, I'd wait until you get down there and discuss it with them. We found that most of the prices were somewhat negotiable once you were sitting face to face. For example, I decided to add lighting under the tables and she let me get the purple lights for the price of the white lights. Hope that helps!

Hello Ladies!! We're back! We just got in yesterday, but I wanted to say that everything went really well. My new husband "ahh!" and I have a couple days to decompress, but I'll post a review probably this coming weekend. We were married in the chapel, had the cocktail hour on the balcony of the lobby, and had the reception in the ballroom. If you have any specific questions, let me know!

Thanks for the review! It's so nice to hear that things went well. Mine is 7/26-coming up very soon. I had read on Tripadvisor that quite a few people are getting food poisoning recently, which makes me really nervous! I've warned most of our guests just in case. I'm glad to hear the chapel was beautiful, that's where ours will be too. Did you have a civil or symbolic ceremony? I'm trying to mentally prepare for the same minister, lol. I'm surprised you had the reception outside. I thought it would be much too hot for that so we are planning for a ballroom reception. Was it pretty comfortable outside?

Hi KristinT, I recommend you email the following about the cruise/party: [email protected] and/or [email protected]. These are the concierges at Dreams Tulum. We are booking a Fishing Charter through them and found the prices to be very reasonable. Maybe they have a cruise/party idea too! Good luck

Exactly 2 weeks until our wedding! I'm getting excited! Stupid question, I'm typing up our itineraries for our Welcome Bags and I realized I'm not 100% sure what time our cocktail hour and reception are. The ceremony is at 5pm, so I'm thinking the cocktail hour is 530-630 then the reception starts sometime between 630-7. Can anyone confirm? Thanks!

Hi Mandy, I emailed back and forth with this seller during the winter. We settled on a price and she said she was going to ship them to me in January after the holidays. Then I never heard from her again. I have tried to contact her several times since then, but there's been no communication. I have no idea what happened! Just thought you should know. Good luck with your planning! -
Thanks hemzshaw, exciting and terrifying at the same time. I had my last dress fitting yesterday and it fit so that's a good start! Paperwork has been turned in. We decided against the fire dancers. Nayeli said that most people have them perform during their reception, but since its going to be so hot, we're having our reception indoors and they're obviously not allowed in there. Besides, my fiance had a good point, that our guests are going to remember our wedding for the fun week in the sun, not for the fire dancers. =D

AHHHHH! I GOT MY 2 MONTH PACKET. I'm not ready for this! Where did the time go?! I was thinking about having one my splurges be on fire dancers, but I'm finding YouTube videos of fire dancers from Dreams Tulum. So I emailed Nayeli today asking if they are already part of the entertainment during the week, because I don't want to PAY for them when they will see them for free earlier in the week. She said she didn't know. Sigh. Do any of the past brides or past DT visitors know if there is a regularly scheduled fire dancer show?

Sorry, I haven't been on for a while! Hemzshaw, here is a brochure I got when I booked with DT about the flowers, although I think I'm going to go with an outside florist, Maya Floral. They charge a $100USD delivery fee, but it still seems cheaper than going through the resort and the flowers are prettier! Amanda2, I have no idea about the Beach Disco. My wedding is in July, so we're all about indoor Air Conditioning! We decided to go with DJ DoreMixx for the reception. He charged $800 for 4-5 hours and provides his own speakers and fun party props. This was a difficult decision for me because I figured we'd rent the speakers and do the Ipod thing to save money. But when I really started adding up how much the rental was going to be plus the cost of downloading music and the shear amount of effort I would be putting into arranging the music, it is going to be totally worth it to me--even with the non-resort-vendor fee! Fair warning before you book, though, he only accepts Western Union, which is really really annoying because, unless you already have a WU account, you have to physically go somewhere to send the money. Anyway, welcome to all the newbies! It's great to have some fresh blood around here. Oh, did anyone see that there is a Spa for Kids?!? Just discovered that today! I'm going to have to treat my flower girl! http://dreamsresortsblog.com/2011/12/20/dreams-tulum-open-a-spa-for-kids/ DREAMS FLOWER PACKAGES.pdf
