We use Capital One Venture Card (the one Alec Baldwin promos). We put all joint stuff and major purchases. If you spend so much in the first 3 months, they reward you with extra points. Have had it open for almost a year and have racked up over $700 worth in flights. It will be perfect for when we are ready to book the DW.

Hi! I know it is a bit early for 2014 weddings, but based on past years, what resorts or chains provide the best perks and incentives to couples? Such as free rooms, free weddings, upgrades, etc. I feel its hard to budget a DW based on the pricing you see on individual resort websites, especially if you will have more than the 20-25 person average included in most packages. Any suggestions? When are promotions announced? Which resort chains tend to offer these? Thanks!! Lauren

Hi all! I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on resorts with a fun nightlife. As we narrow down our search in resorts for our wedding, it is important to us (majority being under 40) to book at a lively resort. Not saying we are crazy party animals, but I would like for my guests to have options during the evening. Can anyone recommend any resorts in the Riviera Maya area that may be desirable for this kind of crowd? Thanks so much! Lauren

Hi! Looking forward to learning more, I've been hearing good things about the NOW resorts. Questions: Group rates for guests? Complimentary upgrades? I have seen a lot of hotels give 4 or 5 room upgrades to the couple to give out. Outside Photographer costs? Do they just need a day pass? Are certain packages covered based on the number of rooms your book? Thank you!!

Hi! New to the site and looking for information on resorts that will host a same sex wedding. I have heard great things about Playa Fiesta in Puerta Vallarta BUT I live on the East Coast and airfare is a bit out of the price range for most of our guests. Looking for something all inclusive... Any resorts on the East Coast of Mexico that have already hosted same sex weddings? Does anyone have photos from their stay? Thanks in advance!!

I actually went to my cousins wedding at The Royal (The adults-only sister resorts to Gran Porto). Some guests stayed at the Grand Porto (those with children) and adults stayed at the Royal. The Gran Porto was decent and directly across the street from The Royal. I saw a wedding on the beach the Gran Porto and was not impressed. The resort is pretty small, and a bit outdated. We still had a great time with our friends and family though. It really is the perfect location. The town is safe and a GREAT time! We often left the resort at night to walk into town, go to bars, lounges, etc. My cousins wedding at the Royal was absolutely beautiful. Everyone agreed it was such a great time. They opted for the ceremony under the gazebo and beach reception. This was great because by the evening the wind had died down on the beach. They also had their rehearsal dinner in town at a local restaurant. I'm not sure if that was an option for you but if you have any questions, feel free to let me know!! Good luck.
