  1. Hi all! Does anyone have pictures of the reception locations? Thanks so much!
  2. Just stayed at the Majestic Colonial. It was a lot of fun. The rooms are not as modern but very clean and a lot of space! The entertainment team was awesome, every day there were activities and fun things to participate in for all ages - Volleyball tournament, Bikini Contest, Pool activities. The team is amazing and a lot of fun. I have heard the entertainment is better at the Colonial. The Elegance is supposed to be a bit more upscale but I was very happy to stay at the Colonial. I saw one wedding on the beach - The ceremony beach site was not private, sits between the elegance and the colonial. The 'alter' area looks like it was made of metal poles painted white.. it was not very attractive at all and was barely covered. Im not sure where the reception took place. We requested a room by the end of pool and beach. PERFECT location!! Pros- Beach, large long pool, length of entire resort, entertainment team, large rooms Cons- Poor drinks/rude bartenders at pool bar, food was very blah. Best of luck!
  3. Hi! Im actually going away on vacation to the Colonial next week The Elegance is supposed to be the 'upscale' sister resort to the colonial - it is adults only. Do yo plan on having children at the wedding? I have read reviews on TripAdvisor that the Colonial is more fun, always has a lot going on for the guests. Its really what you prefer.. Have you been to either? Good luck!!
  4. Im sorry to hear that Good thing is you can fix it! My Aunt last year lost her diamond she has had for over 25 years...I can't imagine! Im sure it will be perfect as soon as they fix it!
  5. Hi! Would love to see Dreams Riviera Maya! Thanks!
  6. It really all depends on the current promotion, how far in advance you book and where you are flying from. Have you contacted a travel agent? If you need a recommendation, let me know and I can you provide you some contact info! Good luck!
  7. Is it correct they charge you $15 per person to extend the reception? My cousins had there wedding at The Royal in PDC and there reception was 5 hours! It flew by too. I just feel like 3 hours will be over in the blink of an eye.
  8. Other than the package you choose, what other additional fees or charges did you come across? How much did this impact your budget? I'm asking because as I read various posts, it seems like many people are hit with alot of additional costs - extra guests, lighting, flowers, dance floor, etc. Did you find a resort that packaged most of these costs together? Thanks!
  9. Ive seen some pictures of people putting in a couple puzzles into their passport books. Also a couple pages with pictures 'scrapbook style' of the parents and wedding party.
  10. Did anyone feel rushed with a 3 hour reception? I feel like it might not be long enough?
  11. Good question! I hear a lot of resorts now host 2-3 weddings per day...
  12. Great question, I have no idea but the resorts I've have been looking into all do 2-3 weddings sometimes.

I like Now Jades modern feel.. but that gazebo at Grand Sunset is gorgeous!
  14. Does DRC allow outside vendors? Specifically Photographers? Do you have to pay a day pass or is it a vendor fee? I definitely want to use an outside photographer.
  15. Do you know what season they typically sell the tote bags? Thanks!!
  16. I think I saw in this thread at some point a post about Tote Bags from the DollarTree for $1.00. Does anyone know how often they sell these online? I checked it out recently and it appears they are no longer for sale. Any tips/ideas? Thanks!!
  17. Is anyone familiar with the Tropical Island Package? Someone mentioned this to me and I was not aware of it. Anyone know details? Thanks!
