  1. HI Nicole, My husband to be and the groomsmen are all doing grey suits bought from Zara, and are just wearing a V neck T shirt underneath, no vests, ties, or collared shirts. I really like the more casual look but definitely not for everybody!
  2. HI Cheryl. I just heard back, and they said a minimum $100 charge depending on how much you bring.
  3. Hi tinker, I'm from Calgary And I'm getting married at Beach Palace on May 15. My guests paid $1704 for direct weather flights hotel And transfers. What is your budget for your gueats? If you have Any questions at all let me know... I think I'm am expert now! Lol Happy Planning!
  4. HI Cheryl, I keep asking but they won't give me a price for the setup fee. They keep saying my onsite coordinator will let me know when i get there. Which i dont like. YOu already brought the stuff so they have you by the horns, obviosuly you will pay what they charge as you have no choice. Im going to push back and see if I can get an answer.
  5. Hey Nursebrooke, I am paying $150 for 2 "tree stands of lights" and $100 for under the table lighting. And i agree, I think Palace resorts owns Zuniga and JSAV as I am paying it all on one invoice.
  6. Hey Nicole, I had no problem with Lily, I am sure she is just working on other weddings right now and willl get back to you shortly. When is your wedding? She was really good with me, I changed my mind a million times. One thing i learned half way through was to ask for a discount. Worst case, they say no. But i did get a better price on some items just because I asked.
  7. Wow Shan $230 thats impressive. My bill is $4000 for all the extra's, damn! lol
  8. Yes you can! I am! Max 3 hours though. I had to pay for an additional hour plus all the extra, ipod setup, lighting, decor, etc etc
  9. To have someone run the ipod is $40 a hour (not a bad gig for them... lol) So we paid $160 for the evening. I think it is important to have someone turn up and down the music or on and off during speeches, etc.
  10. Hi Shmanderz, Your wedding is the same time of year as mine. The sun sets at approx 7:20. The ceremony only takes about 20min so if you did a later ceremony to beat the heat and you would still have time for daylight photos as well as sunset photos which are beautiful. My ceremony is at 6pm- we are doing first look photos (before the ceremony) to make sure we have enough time for everything. But its a personal preference! Good luck with your planning!
  11. Hi Nursebrooke! Ceremony- 6pm Cocktail Hour- 7pm Reception- 8pm-11pm (I dont think 8 is too late for dinner) I am doing the complimentary package! THis is what i rented from Zuinga Ceremony- SKy Terrace -sashes for inside isle of chairs (i didnt want to spend alot on the ceremony- its so beautiful as is and you are only there for 20min) Reception- South or North Terrace (i forget which one- my cocktail hour is on one side and the reception on the other) We are doing one long table. Using the resort table cloths and napkins (white) this is free The following is from Zuinga -Ghost Chairs -Table runner -Glass Plate chargers -Centerpieces (square low vase with flowers & votives (fake ones - it can get windy) This was expensive ($580 for my centerpieces for only ONE table! granted its a long table 35 people) They origianlly quoted me $900 ouch. If you can bring your own i say do it! But i think they will charge you a setup fee per table -Candles for around pool (fake again- in case windy) -Pinata and pinata stick I am renting from JSAV, the ipod setup including 2 speakers and someone to run the ipod as well as some extra lighting (they say it gets dark on the south/north terrace) Is anyone else renting extra lighting? As well as a gobo to project our monogram on the wall. I am having a welcome cocktail the day we arrive (we are from Canada so staying a week) so this would be 3 nights before the wedding I think the cocktail hour on the wedding day is a good way to keep the guests busy while you are doing photos. But totally up to you Hope this helps!
  12. Hi Nikia, I was in Playa del Carmen in January for a friends wedding so we did go see Beach Palace while we were so close! It was perfect! We really liked the resort because of the amaizng 360 degree view from the sky terrace and the modern feel of the resort. Its not a huge resort but has everything you need. All the rooms were great! Let me know if you have any specific questions let me know!
