Jenni!!!!!!!! Welcome Back! Congratulations! I am so happy to hear everything went perfect for you! I am so excited to read your review and see all your pictures! I do have some questions. Where was your ceremony and reception? Was it really windy? I have been reading reviews of crazy wind. Did it rain? Did you have a big dress, where you sweating all night? I am worried about the heat a little bit. Any tips on things you wish you did, or wish you didn't? What room did you stay in? Did you do any tours? Does the bride and groom get a different color wristband? ( i cant remember where i read that) How were the restaurants? Ahh so many questions! So much excitement!! Congrats again Jenni on being a Mrs! Whoooooot!

Ladies, Sorry to hear that you are both enduring some stresses. I think i have come to the conclusion that we all have our own problems. You all have given me so much support and good advise. So let me share something I have learned. Chances are something is going to go not according to plan. There will be bumps in the road and challenges to overcome. But in the end all the matters is when you are staring into your mans eyes as he becomes you husband. Try not to stress over all the details (easier said then done- i know) but I think we will all look back and laugh at much we stressed over things, that ultimately wont matter so much in the end. Good luck to you both!

Tova! Great memory! Yes Mikaella 1508 (which has a tiered ruffle back) I did take KDoyles advise and made an appt for saturday at another seamstess just incase. I have an appointment with the bridal salon tonight again to speak with the manager so we will see how that goes. You are right, it will only take a day to fix once I find a capable seamstress! Thanks for the kind words and for easing my stress! On a happier note I will have my toes in the sand in 8 days! I cannot be happier and more excited! ( I will keep you all posted on the dress sitch before I leave) -KT

Hey! We have the same wedding date 9 days!!! Have a great trip! Post some pictures when you get back!

I ended up purchasing the Mikaella 1508 from Ethos. Here is a pic: I leave in 9 days and have had it on and off a million times for alterations and let me tell you i already wish i choose something lighter! I get hot and sweatly just taking it on and off! I really wanted a "real" wedding dress so at the time didnt care about the heat.. but hindsight i think a lighter flowy cooler dress would have been the best option. I will update you when i get back..

Guestbook idea for small guest count?
KristieT replied to lolo411's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Well, I decided to do a "message in a bottle" guestbook, bought all stuff, decorated, even T - stained some paper for the "messages" And then like most Brides do, I changed my mind. So I had this made from ETSY The "LOVE" is acutally made up of our names which i thought was a unique touch. I am getting this printed on canvas. I will bring the canvas (not on frame) rolled down to mexico for easy transportation for the guests to sign. Then I will have it streched on a fram when we get back. -

Hey! Sorry to hear about your experience! That is really horrible. I had a similar experience at the Bridal Center. They run off the same basic structure, they rip out all the designer labels so you cannot see who it is, and they tell you they have no idea. Which is a lie. To me - this tells me they know there is a better price on this dress and they dont want me to look it up and find it. I would never go back or recommend the bridal center. I suggest you try Ethos or S2 downtown. I bought my dress there and they were great to work with. I tried on a million, they left the ones i was considering in my room and tried them on multiple times. And you can see the desinger and make of the dress. Good luck with your search!

Tova! Happy to hear things are on track for you! I can't wait to see pictures of you on your wedding day in that dress! Not so good news for me. I spent an hour at the alterations place, and cried. She took in the dress at my waist so that it would be tight and support the bust. Well now its too small around the bust and it was a struggle to do up. This resulted in it "pushing me boobs down" Hard to explain but it wasn't good. She took the cups out, put them back in, un did some stitches. I am going back tomorrow to talk to the manager and see what they can do. In my opinion a good seamstress should be able to alter anything. I ordered a designer dress from a reputable bridal store, I ordered the size they told me, and now she is saying the styles doesn't work bc i have boobs. Maybe someone should have told me that when i ordered it?!?!?! In regards to toning up, i can relate with you there. My dress actually fit almost perfect after the first alteration, but I have been working my bum off and have lost some weight and now have to deal with this ordeal. Sooo I leave in 9 days. I need all the luck i can get.. please wish me luck.

I cant stop stressing about the weather!!! But we need to realize even though it says rain, it may rain for 10min in the morning or something. There is a bride in one of the threads who lives in Playa Del Carmen who says the weather reports show rain everyday but its been beautiful! So try not to stress! It will be perfect!

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You look so beautiful! Happy to hear it was perfect!!

Tova! Omg the same thing happened to me! I am so sorry to hear about this. I completely agree that a wedding dress should TRUMP all! Obviously this is the most important dress a girl will ever wear! Hopefully everything goes well tonight and you will forget about this kerfuffle. This is what happened to me: I showed up for my second fitting and she wasn't there. I called and she "forgot" Same thing, so busy with prom/grad dresses! Omg i almost lost my mind. I held back a little knowing that she still has my dress and I don't want her to do bad things! So I reschedule, and I try on the dress and it still wont stay up. She is saying bc i have boobs, that its hard to keep the dress up. It is a strapless silk dress, so no boning to help support. I am shocked that I can pay $1800 for a designer dress and it doesn't have the capability to stay up bc i have boobs? She put the sewn in cups in, size B cups. I was just measured at Victoria secret as a 32DD. I don't understand how she thinks the size B cups are going to hold me up. Needless to say I go back tonight, and I am beyond stressed, I leave in 10 days and I don't have a dress that will stay up! Let's check in tomorrow and hopefully we both have a happy ending to this ordeal.

Thanks Tova! These gives me a better idea of what is normal.

Hey Nicole! Well i am not sure that moving the music to the beach would be extra $$ but i can only assume. They seem to charge for everything! I am doing the same as you, ipod, 2 speakers and someone to run the ipod. No DJ for us, they basically do the same as the ipod. Not worth the cost for us, and besides this way we get to pick all the music! I am a little worried about the sunlight after the ceremony. My wedding is May 15, the sun is suppose to set at 7:20, looks like the sun is supposed to set at 7:33 for you. So we are basically in the same boat. For this reason we have decided to do "First Look" Photos. My photgrapher will do photos of my husband and I starting at 5:00 before our 6:00 ceremony. This will allow the time after the ceremony and before sunset (6:30-7:20) for family photos, bridal party photos and some sunset photos. I will definetly post a review and some photos when i get back. Happy planning! -Kristie

May Brides, Has anyone thought about tipping for the wedding? Who do you tip? How much do you tip? When do you tip?
