    I also sent my STDs 16 months out. It had the date, resort and wedding website info on it. I will send reminder cards 6 to 8 months out to those who have not RSVP'd.

    This is A great list, however I sent my save the dates 16 months out. This seems way too early but I have found that my guests were glad we did because many of them need to get passports as well as set money aside to attend.

    You should check with your resort first as some resorts will not allow you to ship packages to them.

    Wow, $500! And then I'm sure you still have to pay Zuniga to do the drapery. I'm sure the Colin Cowis package will do just fine, lol.

    I'm meeting up with my bridesmaids in two weeks to talk dresses. This will help me settle in on a color. I recieved quotes from Zuniga and cherry blossom. Zuniga is cheaper than the resort on some items and more expensive on others. I got these quotes early so that I have time to plan out what I really want to do. Right now I'm studying for a certification for work, looking forward to vacation in the Dominican Republic in August and a Vegas vacation with my Dad & Grandma (yeah, I know right) in October! Busy, busy.

    Welcome! I wish I could my husband involved in any way. He said he just wants to show up, I'm the planner in this family!

    I was thinking of using them for some ceremony decor and flowers, also maybe a dance floor for our welcome party. The RSVP's are starting to roll in slowly. Its early for me as my wedding is still about 14 months away (big dreamer). My main plan is to keep it simple and clean and have seperate events for our guests to spend time together (thats where the free events come in) so we'll see how it goes.

    It really is. i have a friend that is coming for the wedding that will be taking the pictures.

    Wow, it totally seems like they try to nickel and dime you for everything. My best friends want to be bridesmaids and they are singers, so i thought about just having them sing a song during the sand ceremony instead of reading anything. Figured it would be just as nice.

    I'm wondering what is the best location for welcome cocktails. I've been thinking about the beach but thinking it would have to rent the lounge furniture so people don't have to stand for 2 hours.

    It's not lame, you're making use of the stuff the resort is alrady giving you. it looks like i will be doing the same. i think we get the most outof our money with the cocktail hours, espically since its a renewal for us and not our actual wedding.

    Yikes! The ex could work if you guys are cool and your hubby is cool with it. But if the ex is even a tad bit of an a-hole, I would totally stay away from that. Sucks when you want good photos!

    You can do a symbolic wedding then do a legal one when you get back. Its just easier if you do it before you leave. Also, if you do it before you leave, make sure all your travel documents have the same name if you are going to change your last name. You will run into major issues and delays if you have documents with two last names. do the legal stuff afterward if you dont have time to get a new passport.

    @NeeNee I kind of have the same dilema, my husband is a part time photographer and want to take pictures himself cause he feels like paying $500 for only prints is a rip off when he all the digitals.But of course the groom can't take the pictures of his own wedding! we may end up inviting one of his photographer friends and help cover some of their travel expenses so they can help with the photos. He told me last night that he would take care of that part of the planning so we'll see where this goes.

    They're going. I'm currently in the process of getting quotes from a bunch of vendors, partly because I really haven't decided on what I want. So it's just best to get prices on everything. My friends want to be bridesmaids since they didn't get to do it at my first wedding but I just see my budget going up with their flowers and all.

    Short update: *I still have not decided on colors. :confused: *I have reached out to Zuniga, Cherry Blossom (didn't try Marvin as I'msure he won't respond this early) and Ocean Photo Studio/Smile Market for quotes.
