  1. Hi C Lombardi, I actually had really great experiences with both the in house photographer and spa. Our pictures were amazing and we were really happy with the package we got. That being said, I didn't really spend time looking at other photographers, so I wasn't comparing them to anyone else. All of my friends and family commented about how much they liked our pics, so I think it's just going to be a personal choice. They were so nice and got along great with our guests, so it was a positive experience. Same with the spa for my hair and makeup. They nailed what I wanted, but I've read mixed reviews. I think it depends what you're looking for, but I was very pleased with both of these vendors.
  2. bksweetheart, I messaged you my email address. For everyone else, the taxes at Beloved regarding the reception prices include 11% federal tax and 15% service tax. So the $45 I was quoted per person for our reception actually turns out to be $56 per person. For Planner 1, Alejandro had mentioned them in one of our first emails I believe, but never said anything about having to use them. I thought they were just an option. Turns out, they're the Beloved's preferred vendor, so Alejandro cc'd them on one of our emails and that's how our correspondence started. They charge 11% tax for everything. Before I got an email from them, I actually googled them and sent a message for them to contact me anyway, so you can always do that if Alejandro doesn't put you in touch with them right away. Hope that helps!
  3. Hey Girls! We are having our reception at the palapa on the beach for our 30 guests. Our cocktail hour will be on the terrace at Aroma restaurant. When we visited in September, Alejandro showed us the different areas because like others said, certain spots depend on the number of guests you have. In terms of pricing, I would be interested in seeing the updated version. BKsweetheart, would you mind sending that to me so that I can look it over. I'm currently organizing prices right now and something you should all keep in mind is that they charge tax for EVERYTHING. So the original quotes I was given doesn't apply. I had to email Alejandro back for exact details. Same thing regarding Planner 1, the company the Beloved uses for decorations. I'm currently negotiating with them now about prices and decor. The quotes they provide don't include the 11% tax they charge for each item, so keep that mind. Sunlover2013, what was your experience with Planner 1 and the overall cost for your reception? Would love to hear some feedback right now!
  4. So I emailed Juan, the inhouse photographer, and received a speedy response. He said they actually have a desk in the Beloved lobby where they will meet with us upon arrival to finalize everything. I received the package info. from Alejandro. Here is their website! http://www.lancelottiphotography.com/
  5. Hi girls! My June 21st wedding is fast approaching!! Couple last minute questions: Did everyone do out of town bags? I'm torn over what to put in them besides an intinerary because the rooms all have food and drinks in them (which other people normally put in their bags). I'm on a budget since me and my fiance are paying for everything, so I don't want to go overboard, but I want to do something nice for the 30 guests that are coming. Any suggestions? In terms of photography, I'm using the in house photographer. I see that other people are asking questions about them too. I just wanted to know what time frame he is with you for. I know there are different packages that specify time and price. I want to make sure he's with me when the bridal party is getting ready ect. I'm just making contact now, so I wanted to check in with others who have already used his services. Thanks!!

  7. Hi ladies, Snoopy, I just got the same quote for DJ, thanks for posting! For everyone who got their hair and makeup done at the spa, was there a cost for a trial? I'm arriving on a Monday and our ceremony isn't until Friday, so I definitley want to set a trial up. I'm planning on bringing pictures for my hair do, should I do the same for makeup? I'm not really sure what type of makeup look I'm going for. What did you all do? Thanks again for your feedback!
  8. Hello brides! Hope everyone's planning is coming along! For everyone who used the DJ recommended by Alejandro (or who will use the DJ), what price was everyone quoted? And how was everyone's experiences with him? I wanted to get some feedback before contacting him. Thanks!!
  9. So glad to hear from other 2013 Brides! I have an invitation question. We're only inviting family and a couple of friends to the Beloved. Almost all of our guests have put their deposits down with our travel agent. I've been emailing everyone with hotel and travel info pretty regularly. For the invitations, we're doing boarding passes and then luggage tags for the RSVPs. I'm creating a website this week, but do you guys think we need to include anything else in the actual invitation?
  10. Hi girls, I finally got my group contract signed and I think my parents are finally on board with the final invitation list lol. I wanted to get some advice on when to send out invitations and when to have the RSVP by. I don't know anyone who has had a destination wedding, so I'm not exactly sure what proper etiqutte is. Our wedding is June 2013 so when should people RSVP by? Thanks for the suggestions!
  11. Thanks for the responses on booking! This process has certainly been interesting to say the least! Our problem has been that we couldn't get enough Junior Suites for all of the guests we were inviting and I'm starting to feel bad about the cost being a little bit more than people expected. We want to have an at home reception after (because there are friends and family who can't make it to the Beloved), but some people in my family seem to think this is a weird idea. I thought a lot of people had these at home receptions following destination weddings, but are they only for guests that couldn't attend your actual destination ceremony? How did you all handle having an at home reception (if you had one)?
  12. Hi girls! To everyone who used a travel agent when booking your guests, I have a couple questions: 1. Did you have a group contract for some of your guests (like immediate family/wedding party) or all of your guests that were coming? 2. If you did have a contract where rooms were being blocked off for your group, what kind of timeline did you give your guests for participating in the contract and booking their stay? Basically, I'm in the process now of signing a group contract. I'm waiting to hear back from my friends and family so that I can get a better idea of who wants a room before I sign the contract. I'm then thinking of giving everyone a date that they need to book through our travel agent before letting their rooms go. Any advice on this process because it's really not fun at the moment.
  13. Hi everyone! For those who had their wedding at the Beloved or are in the planning stage, what's the best advice regarding how your guests should book? My fiance and I are going back and forth on signing a contract where you need to put 10% of the total cost down very quickly vs. having everyone book individually through Wendy. BTW, we're expecting 30-40 guests and are planning on having our wedding in June 2013 if that helps.
  14. Hi everyone!! After spending hours reading through so many posts, I decided it was time to join in on the fun! I've read a lot of info. regarding the wedding packages and working with the wedding coordinators, but my fiance and I just started the planning process and had a more basic question. What was everyone's experience like when booking a block of rooms for your guests? We're planning on a June 2013 wedding and we're going this June to check everything out in person. We just contacted the booking company and were told we can create a group code for our guests to use when they book their stays so that they can get a group rate. Have other brides done this? We are not using a travel agent and we're estimating about 40-50 total guests. I just wanted to check in to see what the process was like for everyone in terms of when they booked, how they handled contracts, ect. Thanks so much for any light you girls can shed!!
