As it gets closer I will mention it but also making the comment about understanding if they don't wanna spend the extra $200. Everyone else is staying onsite so I haven't had the convo.

Hi Ladies, As I've been reading the post from the upcoming brides and all the stress, I wanted to tell you about my outside WC. At first I couldn't understand hiring an outside WC especially with my background being events but the more I thought about it the more it makes sense.I wanna enjoy my wedding! My WC is Sadeki from Chic Events Wedding. Because she deals so much with Iberostar she has them on her BBM. She can get answers right away and she helps with the communication. Her price is reasonable so I thought I'd put it out there for you guys.

Hi Rebecca, I remember finding their prices online, I just can't remember where but haven't heard great reviews for them. If you want a smaller package look at Roan Robinson. I have him booked for my wedding. I didn't want a ton of wedding shots so went with the smallest package of 100 photos to keep for $450. He does have bigger packages also. If you are interested I can send you his price list, I'd just need your email address. Justine

I feel your pain! There is also a 3 hr minimum for the open bar. After discussing it with a few people we decided no to the open bar, all my guests agreed that's a rip off. I have heard from past brides that they did have access to drinks. I think it helps to keep in mind you are in a beautiful location your guests will enjoy themselves regardless. I have to keep reminding myself of that and what a past bride commented to not getting wrapped up with the small details as people don't pay attention...except us! Keep to what is important to you and that might help...myself, flowers aren't so I'm just going with what Iberostar provide. An outside WC was,which is allowing me to enjoy my day (hopefully) stress free. Hope that helps.

Not sure about negotiation either but I'm going to try ....especially how they charge you an extra $18 for the guests to watch your wedding. Seeing how we have more than 8 (which is riduclous...8!!) that'll add up. We only had to pay an extra $100 to extend the air for 3 days. We are going to Rockhouse for a mini moon and to experience the cliffs, Rick cafe and other local food.

Jealous, Sunquest was so accomodating! Good info to know. Sunwing wouldn't even allow one couple our group rate to staty Dec.30th at the beach instead of the suites..which the suites has 15.

I thought I would put my two cents into this thread as I am using both itravel2000 and Sunwing. I found Sunwing fast and prompt with price quotes but went with itravel. I found my TA good ,responding quick and efficient but nowhere did anyone explain what a group booking entailed. Since mine is over Xmas break I wanted to offer the option for NYE but because I did not understand how the booking went I have screwed us out if 3 trips, a saving of $5000-$6000. I have found Sunwing very rigid with our booking. We have 15 booked Dec.30 and Jan.1 10 at iberostar suites and 14 staying at iberostar rose hall....you need 15 people to get the 16th free. My advice is make sure the TA and the tour operator both are easy to work with.

Still figuring how this thread stuff works! I responded above as I'm curious to the assistance your TA has given you, actually from any brides. My agent is on top of my emails and bookings but doesn't go beyond. I feel like I'm the agent as I organize everything on my end how Sunwing needs it and then just send it to her.

We have also booked with itravel and have found them reasonable along with the fact they price match. I'm just before you, getting married Jan. 4th. I'm curious as to your TA assistance with the WC I didn't even know that was an option!!! I'm actually finding our tour operator Sunwing very strict. I need to discuss with the WC price negotiations ....would a TA be able to help with that?

We are having our AHR at an old barn that is an art gallery. It's a not for profit so the rental price is cheap. I wanted to showcase the outside so we are having it June 1, almost 6 months after our wedding which is Jan. 4 2013. I also want it casual, open house style but playing a DVD inside. We are going to have it during the day providing light food and open bar...that way it cuts down on food cost and people drink less during the day. We are thinking of having a blessing ceremony for my grandparents but that will be the only part of a "real wedding" again for the grandparents.
