Ok so I really want to lose weight but I am so not motivated to to this on my own. Has anyone had this issue? How have you gotten over the hump?

OK so I notice that I'm on here a lot more than other brides it seems. But another quick question. Which location did you ladies choose for your ceremony? I'm torn between the beach gazebo and the beach. I need to respond to Jeanne letting her know what we want.

I guess it really depends on how you look at it. We see getting married here as just doing the legal paperwork. To us it is easier because we don't have to worry about the hassle of getting everything translated. I really don't have time to be running around.

I was really amped about trying it but my FI shot it down Monday morning. Mainly because it is really expensive and we are having our house built in addition to paying for the wedding ourselves. We have a membership to the Y but they don't have Hot Yoga. I get motivated and then it goes down. I really need to step it up and get on a fitness plan now.

I'm really in love with the idea of Barefoot jewlery. I have not started lookin gyeat but I know for a fact that's what I want. Are any brides wearing both barefoot jewlrey and shoes during the day?

I am no where near the 150 post count. But I have so many questions and so many other threads to explore. I guess i need to comment more and say what's on my mind at every moment rather than just read and make notes. lol.

Which Barcelo Resort are you having the wedding at? I would love to hear a full review. If we are at the same resort I will have a ton of questions for you.

So now that I switched resorts most of my guests are upgrading their rooms. It's kind of funny because I switched resorts to it will be more affordable for everyone. One of my friends said today. Since it is cheaper we can now afford to upgrade. I guess everyone has the same out look. I'm really excited because I gave a deadline of today being the day everyone needs to pay their deposit. And people are calling the TA to make their payments! I set up the payments alittle different. I know I'm dealing with people that will wait until the last possible day to say they want to come and pay up. Because of this I created payment days that are different than the days the travel agent provided us will. Instead of the deposit being $50 per sperson to hold the room, I told them that it is $100. And instead of telling them the final payment is due in August I gave them July. I figured that leaves room for the late comers. I also made sure I emphasized on the fact that the group rate can go up if the deposit is not paid by a certain date.

I know they do hair in the DR but I'm not sure how well they do natural hair. I try to avoid heat. But I'm fine with heat to style my hair for the wedding. I just don't want excessive heat on my hair. I say just make sure you have plenty of conditioner and oil with you for the trip so you can keep your hair protected while you enjoy the beach.

I was interested in Hot Yoga a month ago but couldn't find anyone I knew that tried it. I wanted to know what the results were. But thanks to this thread I will sign up for classes this week.

I'm natural as well and I've been wondering what would be the prettiest style for me. I just cut my hair really short a month before my FI proposed. Now I'm wondering if I should have done that. I have until October so I think I will be wearing my hair in tiny twists as a low maintenance protective style so it can grow. As long as I keep it healthy and moisturized I should gain 4 inches by then.

I started another BBPD thread but no one responded. This is what I asked: I confirmed our wedding date, time and package this week. Can anyone tell me what the process is now? We were initially going with a different resort and we received a welcome package explaining everything. It also had every single fee, the process and cancellation info in the packet. After we confirmed we haven't received anything else. And we did not pay a deposit for the wedding package yet. Can someone that has gone through this let me know what to expect? It's a little weird in a sense because I feel like I haven't really done anything. In addition can someone send me the menu options? Has anyone done the Buffet?

Also if someone can send me the menu it would be awesome.

Ugh. The guy she hired instead is probably lazy and doesn't do half as good of job as she would have. She might have been jealous.

We are doing the legal stuff here to make it easier and cheaper for us. We will do it a week or so before. We see it as just getting the formalities out of the day. We aren't even looking at it as us already being married before we get there. His folks know but that is about it. When we first started looking at a DW we were against it because we viewed it as defeating the purpose. But then the more we looked at the wedding costs and then realized that the legal fees were extra, our point of view changed. We just went under contract on our first home so the extra money can go somewhere else. I'm glad to see that so many other brides are doing the same thing. To me it's not that serious. As long as we are legally married when the wedding is over that is all we care about.

Don't stress. I was concerned but I did some research before I picked October. I believe it only rains for a short period of time. Like 15 mins and then it's over and the sun is out again. So you have nothing to worry about. I was going with PPC too but now I'm looking at Barcelo Bavaro Palace deluxe. I wanted to lower the costs some more for our guests.

Hey fellow brides. I have a question and I wonder if anyone knows the answer to this. Are you doing the legal or symbolic cerrmony? Do you happen to know if they discount the packages any if you only want a symbolic wedding?

Can you send me some more information regarding the packages and what all is included. As well as the extras and Menu. It seems like they only send one piece at a time.

Trivera5521 Which for resorts did you visit when you did your site visit? My FI wants to know if you visited Ocean Blue by any chance. We have been looking at both this week.

Thanks for the pictures. They are nice. I roof looks really niiiice. But we may just do the bar-higuey to stay with in budget. I do like that pool. I think it should give us enough of a "look". I sent them an email requesting information and to potentially start the process. Wish us luck!!
