Trivera I was told the beach wedding is an extra $65 per person. Let me find the email so I can copy what she said.

Now what I need to know is did they respond the same way to everyone else? And if that is the usual response but you have the Bar-higuey if you reserve it. I haven't received my email back yet. But I notice they seem to be at different times each day. I need to go through the threads some and find a bride that has already been married and PM them. I need to know how this works.

I still can't believe it. Pure craziness.

I would go to Pluto because it seems to always be forgotten. Did you have any second thoughts about you reception location after you paid all your money?

I'm 27 and my FI is 29. He has me by 2 years. The month after the wedding will be my birthday and then the following month is his Birthday.

This is a little tough but what I quickly learned when we first started looking at photographers is that guys don't look at pictures the same way we do. My FI felt like all we needed was some cameras on a table and someone recording us instead of professional shoots. It took a lot of explaining to get him to understand that the pics need to be professional and not pics taken from horrible angles.

OK Brides I have a serious question. I want to have my wedding at the Bar-Higuey but the response from the WC sounds like she is trying to talk me out of the Bar-Higuey and basically staying that I won't be able to have it. Here is the email she sent me: The Bar-Higuey it is at the convention center, please be advised if any huge convention is going on on the same date of your wedding we will be re-located to another location, please keep this on mind. If we are not re-located but they have some activities going on at the convention, you will be seeing people or booth around the area. People will not be inside of the reception but outside “maybe†Has anyone heard anything like this when trying to book it? I'm going to email her back with more questions but this is getting frustrating. I refuse to have the reception in a banquet hall. I'll pay for another area if it comes down to it. But i really don't want to if the Bar-Higuey comes for free.

WTF!!! I mean really! Oh yay your are getting married. Now you can carry my child. Who says that? And if someone else already said yes why did they need to ask you? It sounds like they where making that up to make you feel better about saying yes. I'm glad you stood your ground. I mean those are questions that shouldn't even be answered. I think when people ask questions like that it's because they are trying to figure out how much money you have. Watch out they may try to ask you for money soon. My brother just asked me for $2,000 last week. And I'm pretty sure my mother told him to ask me. For some reason my family thinks I have the big pile of money saved up somewhere. I mean we have some savings but nothing signaficant. And they fail to realize how much we have to spend this year between the wedding and buying a house. I guess it's that aura of you having it better than others. Or you are rich because you are having a DW. Even though many fail to realize that most people have DW because it is way cheaper than having a really nice wedding in the States.

I can't wait to read you review and see the photo's. I know it's going to be amazing. I will have more questions for you but I'm at work and at some point I need to actually do work. lol Trivera- I had to provide all the info that I have because I know I want to have all as much info as possible.

Canadianawn- I compared both and the BBPD was my choice by far. I was so drawn to the price since they are a lot cheaper. It seems like they are trying to make themselve a premium resort but have not gotten there yet. I used this site and trip advissors to help me make my choice. I look at recent photos and see if it looks like the website. If it looks all pretty like the site then it's a winner. But BPC still has a lot of outdated buildings and the reviews weren't really good. But BBPD looked amazing for the price, the reviews were good and the pics looked nice, clean and updated on the sites. Plus Trivera did a site visit and compared them. that helped me finalize the choice.

Hi March2013 Bride Congrats on your engagement. I know how you feel I have a million questions everday. I know some of your questions have been answered so I'll answer what I have. 1. I used the travel agency that created this site. I work with "Bab's" Barbara Vong. She is Tammy's sister. 2. We have been having some confusion about whethe or not the Bar-Higuey is included in the Strawberry package or not. I'm waiting on a response from the WC. But it may be like Trivera just stated, It's included but I need to reserve it in order to confirm it. 3.Acording to the last email I received from the WC, the beach reception is an extra $65 per person. 5. We are doing the Strawberry package as well. I'm hoping to not go over $25 people. But if we do, we will pay extra per person. 7. There are no weddings on Sunday's in any of the resorts in the DR. I believe. But I know the BBPD doesn't have any one Sundays.

That's crazy. Vegas is super cheap. Just focus on the fact that you have a great man by your side. And if is he anything like my FI he is also one the greatest friends you could ever have. Don't let it ruin your day. Just know in the future those are less people that you have to worry about. Less gifts and events to worry about paying for.

Trivera5521 - I was just about to say something about that as well. I'm posting the email I received today. Keep in mind we are doing the Strawberry Package: I'm not quite up to 150 posts. I really want to post all the pics here. Actually we have a website, but it does not have pictures of decoration, cake or flowers. If you have example pictures of things that you want you send them to me, we will do our best to get them. Is the buffet extra or does it come with the Strawberry Package? If it is extra, how much extra is it? The buffet is not included on the strawberry package, remember it includes a dinner with a set menu (one entrée, one main dish and one dessert). The cost of the buffet are: Buffet premium light: 58USd per person Buffet premium: 77usd per person Can you send me pictures of all the reception locations and decorations available with the prices? How much are the drapes? The cost of the drapes you saw on the picture is 300 usd. The reception location we have available for that date the ball room that I sent to you on the other email. We want the beach wedding. What are all the decoration options we have for the beach? You want your ceremony on the beach, right? Please find attached pictures of set ups, be advised that what you have included on the strawberry package is photo example in pink (of course you can change the color), if you want something different it would be additional. Trivera5521- Ok so I went through my emails back and forth with the WC and the plated menu is included in the Strawberry package. We are doing the Strawberry package because we wanted to ensure that we had a privatized reception dinner. From Juana: For the reception on the Strawberry package you have included Entrée, main dish and dessert. Please find attached the different options that you can select for the dinner. You need to select one entrée, one main dish and one dessert, everybody eats the same. Your package includes the reception in one of our ball rooms. If you want a open area it would be additional. Attached you will find photo of a ball room’s set up. (please note that the center pieces are not included in your package) The ceremony locations that you can choose from are the garden, garden gazebo, ocean front gazebo or the beach. Let me know which one you prefer, so I can make the reservation on time for you. Please find attached picture of the locations.

I would like 25 if you still have them. And do you have the holders as well?
