  1. I just bought the entire stock of solid tote bags....47 of them and I will be on the hunt for some more! Thanks for the info ladies!!
  2. For any ladies still looking I saw the groupon yesterday still active. $17 for $70 in the Orlando Groupon! Just a little FYI You must use by sometime in July though
  3. Hey Ladies I was just wondering how far out you all are requesting your RSVP's to be in? What is the standard? With all the OOT bags to make and little DIY projects I want to do I feel like I can't do anything till I know how may people are attending. Are you all just guesstimating how many people will attend and then going forward with your projects or are you waiting? I don't want to waste any precious time and money on unnecessary things. Any info or insight would be great and appreciated. Thanks and Happy Planning
  4. lol....I'm getting married October 6, 2012 I asked for the Coral Grill and I was told it wasn't an option unless I wanted to pay $10,000. I'm jealous! They put me at the Palace Pool! The one thing I cannot stand is how inconsistent they are there. I'm FRUSTRATED!!
  5. This is sort of along the lines as to what I was thinking.....
  6. I found this as sort of an example.....Any thoughts as to if this is silly on not! I just think its super cute!
  7. I want to start off by congratulating everyone on this site on you engagement or recent wedding! I am trying to think of fun ways to spin traditional ideas/rituals for my wedding while being budget friendly. I have this idea that instead of flowers for my 6 bridesmaids that they walk down the isle with a series of signs with something like... #1. This is it Patrick #2. Last chance to run... #3. Here comes your bride in #4. 3.... #5. 2.... #6. 1.... I feel like it would be a cheap project and I thought its something different that I haven't seen. What does everyone think of this? Is it stupid or cheesy? Does anyone have any other ideas as to what I could put on my signs? I'm trying to think outside of the box and I need a little help!
  8. Do any past brides have any pictures of their food? Since I can't taste I rather pick with my eyes. The menu choices aren't super descriptive and I am at a total loss as to what to pick. Thank you in advance!
  9. Smile Market Wedding Photography. Here is their facebook: http://www.facebook.com/Smilemarketweddings
  10. How many people did you have for the free cocktail hour? I have been debating it and I too just can't decide! I originally thought it was a necessity just because most weddings that you go to have one, but I think its silly to pay for a cocktail hour too at an all inclusive.
  11. I'd love some ideas as well, originally I had picked a destination wedding far away for 2 reasons. #1 being VACATION, #2 being I thought it would save me money just buying a package and maybe having to pay for a few extras. I guess it was my fault for inviting too many people, but I thought "hey who would really travel to Mexico (of all places) to see me get hitched" I guess I am loved way more than I ever thought either that or everyone else just wants a reason to go on vacation as well. But I'm determined that if they are gonna travel all the way there for me I have to do something nice for them. Between OOT bags and paying for all the extra people etc...its adding up quick! There is always the blueberry package (I think, that is a cocktail party and includes unlimited people) you could go to a buffet after and to the club for dancing! Just an idea, I myself want the traditional reception (so I most likely will be picking up some extra shifts at work) As for past and future brides....when it comes to the photographer how much time is a good amount? I'm trying to determine how much time I need!
  12. We are trying to pick the photographer as well, I am finding it nerve racking to plan a destination wedding as well. So far we have about 50 guest but I'm thinking when its all said and done we will have anywhere between 70-90. I am overwhelmed by how many guest are actually willing to travel to Mexico for our wedding we were thinking originally 30 people TOPS!! The amount of people are kinda blowing my budget right out of the water but hey, the more the merrier I suppose.
  13. Knootbaar, I am getting married the same day Oct, 6, 2012 @ 6pm. I guess I will see you there
  14. Knootbaar, I am getting married at the Palace as well on Oct 6, 2012 @ 6 pm. Where did you choose to have your reception? We are at the Palace pool area. We re getting so excited! Maybe I will see you there.
  15. Check out the barcelo website and join the MyBarcelo club. I have been to the resort several times and I find this to be the cheapest way to go. Its free to join and the prices are quoted per room and not per person like orbitz and the other travel sites. This is how we booked our wedding and the best part is the earlier you book the cheaper it is (We received 30% off for booking early). You can book your shuttle from the airport through them as well, but I find that chartering a private shuttle is cheaper and you don't have to pay per person either! Hope this gives you a little insight and hope of making your palace wedding a reality!
  16. AudEv2012 who is your WC? I would much rather do the mint package and we are thinking we will have about 80-100 . That would save me so much $$$ Avens: Xhail (our WC) didn't say that the Palmerras was booked but it wasn't an option that she gave us. I specifically asked for a opened aired restaurant and she gave me Captain Morgan grill as an option. It may be for some people but a pirate ship in the middle of the room isn't for me. She told me that only 30 people could sit together on a side as well and I have at minimum 50 people already attending. We would like everyone to sit together. I just hate to get all the way down there and it rain on our Wedding day and be are stuck in a Banquet room. If we wanted that we would of got married here at home. An open aired restaurant is just what I had my heart set on. But the WC wouldn't even begin to talk reception spots until you book your stay locking you in!!! I'm a little frustrated at that, now having this booked and not being able to have it where we wanted it. I'm attempting to NOT let it bother me Sorry for venting for a moment. I must say I didn't think that it would be as stressful as it is planning this. I thought hey destination wedding...PERFECT. We will take a vacation and get married in a stress-free environment. That hasn't seem to be the case since its hard to communicate and get answers (and everyone seems to get or give different answers) Whats okay for one person doesn't seem to be okay for the next. Its just frustrating! Did those of you that used the IPOD feel like you missed out on having a DJ to help get the party moving? Just wondering? Thanks for letting me ramble! Jessica
  17. Hey Ladies, I'm new to this site. My fiance and I have booked our wedding for October 6, 2012. I unfortunately wasn't left with a lot of options to have our reception. We ended up picking the Palace pool area. I was wondering if anyone has any pictures to look at or had seen an reception take place there while they were at the Palace. I'm concerned about the weather seeing that its outside and we will be in rainy season (but that's a risk I just have to take) We REALLY wanted to have our reception in an open aired restaurant but that option wasn't given to us. We have invited 200 people and already have a for sure 50. Does anyone know how many people you need to have attend in order for them to bump you up to the Coral Grill? Also, I just want to make sure I'm up to speed all that my WC has booked with me is our locations for reception, ceremony, cocktail hour....Just scanning this site I have noticed that some people that are getting married after me are already choosing what type of musician they want to play at their ceremony. Are we behind? I'm not liking what I am hearing about the on site photographers....does anyone have any suggestions for photographers that won't break the bank? Lastly (for now) has anyone used the resort D.J. if not does anyone have any suggestions? Sorry I have so many questions I'm just so anxious to know everything and it takes a little bit of time to hear back from our WC. Congrats to you all! Jessica I have been having trouble posting (or at least finding where they are actually posting to...forgive me if this is a repeat post)
