I have yet to have my wedding yet however I thought I would share what I'm doing with you as far as the live ceremony music.....We are having the violin person play as people gather and sit and playing our own music for the processional....Your guests may think its a nice touch to have someone playing music as they wait.

The mint package has to be inside in a banquet room (The Strawberry package or higher can be outside). I myself didn't want it on the beach and wanted an open aired grill and they made me upgrade and then once I did that no open aired grills were avaiable....So I'm by the pool now. Anyways.......I have read once that somebody had a big group (over 70) and the WC allowed them to pay extra per person to have it outside with the mint package, but that's NOT a regular thing that they do (I tried)...My wedding isn't till October and I got a D.J from an outside vendor, Discomovil. He was cheaper than Barcelo's D.J and plays for 4 hours. Also if you were intrested in the light up dance floor its half the price of the resort. I found that other brides used this D.J and he has recieved good reviews. Correspondence with him is easy and fast which makes me feel good too. The only downside to using an Outside vendor is that Barcelo charges you for use of their electricity $100 an hour. But for $200 Discomovil will rent and bring a genertor which works out to be cheaper. I read that the Barcelo D.J plays dance music for 2 hours and the other hour is just background music while you eat supper. But both have gotten good reviews. Just to try to set your mind at ease, I think you are way ahead of the game. Lots of Brides don't get everything set till they get down there because its so hard to get a hold of some of the WC..(which is my case) Happy planning!!

My Sister had a heck of a time in the past shipping her stuff to Mexico and I am wondering what other people are doing to get there "goodies" down to their destination.

Hello, I have a question for everyone. We are getting married in October and I am trying to put together a scavenger hunt for my guests to get to know one another and to get some of the people moving that really don't like the beach and drinking thing. I have been to Barcelo in the past but I have hit a wall and can't think of anything else to put on my list: (please give me any extra ideas that come to mind) 1. a photo of an angel 2. Build a sandcastle 3. Pic of taking a shot with a stranger 4. Pic of Mexican Flag 5. Pic of Man in speedo (2 bonus points if you are in the picture with him) 6. A pic with a Mayan god 7. Pic of you on the water bike I would like to come up with a bunch more things......I know Barcelo is busy and there are plenty of things to do but we thought this may be a fun thing to do maybe boys vs: girls!!! We welcome all ideas!! Thanks!!!

I have lived on my own since I was 18 years old (I'm 30 now) my fiance and I already live together and have lots of things however our things are mismatched and are mostly hand me downs. We went for new dishes, silverware, glasses,etc....If you go to a place like Bed Bath and Beyond they actually give you a list or template of things you may ask for. Many people that cannot afford to travel for your wedding still may want to give you a little something so it doesn't hurt to go to the store and put together a "wish list" of sorts. There are so many new kitchen gadgets and different things out there I'm sure you can come up with a few things. Plus the people there really help you out...Who doesn't need some new towels?

Hey Ladies and Gents, I was just wondering if any of you all had booked through Barcelo website and if so did they have any problems at the desk? I just read about the desk completely loosing reservations and trying to turn people away that had reservation confirmation numbers and EVERYTHING! I have had many guests book though their site and I am a nervous wreck now!! I'm hoping this was just a rare fluke and not a regular occurrence. I'm guessing I just need to make sure everyone brings all documentation of confirmation and so forth but UGH.....I'd hate for anyone to start off their vacation with a sour taste in their mouth.

I thought I may add a site. We are thinking about putting underwater disposable cameras in our bags, as well as putting a few on the reception tables. This site is the cheapest I have seen yet. Starting at $1.95 a piece (there is some bulk pricing too). http://www.ecamerafilms.com/Disposable_Cameras_s/3.htm?searching=Y&sort=1&cat=3&show=10&page=1
