Emily, I would go 4 the spa at the resort. You dont want 2 be caught and have to pay extra when you can save that money for something like honeymoon! I'm a super scrappy bride lol and from what i've heard the resort spa does a great job on hair and makeup!! Just bring lots of pics of what you want hair and makeup to look like and pray for the best. honestly dont think they could possibly mess up!! Goodluck and dont worry you'll be a beautiful bride!!

emily, i would just not risk it. go w/ the spa!! there a lot of brides here who have said what a wonderful job they've done. Why don't you check out one of the other artists?? I'm a bit worried myself as I might not even go 4 the trial prior to wedding day (scrappy bride over here) but in the end they really cant possibly do such a horrible job. Save yourself the $350!! Spend it on an upgrade or something else 4 honeymoon

wow!!! that's awesome mizpriya!!! We also booked our wedding a bit over a year ago smh. I cant believe we didnt have that option. we already booked unfortunately and paid a pretty penny bc we wanted to be crazy and honeymoon for 2 weeks! UGHHH Well i'm glad it worked out 4 you guys!! Also, bout the bm tell them to chek in David's bridal. I really wanted to stay away from there bc i wanted something diff 4 my bm's but went this weekend and they're having crazy sales for stuff that's quickly getting discontinued!! So check it out. My bridesmaids paid under 100 for each dress. Good luck

Emily!! I feel the same way!! now that i've booked our trip, got my dress and ordered invites I feel like there's really nothing much else to do until the time gets closer. I'm still having a hard time finding bm dresses since i'm trying to have them be below $100 so i'm working on that. Also basically buying the OOT bag stuff little by little. I have to soon go to my church and request a letter for permission to get married in chapel. Other then that I think pretty much everything can wait til later on!!.

hey emily!! Planning is going slow bc we still havent done anything w/ the resort in terms of decorating and menus, but we did order our invites from invitations by dawn!! Hoping for the best!! they were the best deal for passport invites which we really wanted. We just went 2 old navy 4 the big $1 flip flop sale n picked up a bunch for the OOT bags...how bout u!? how's everything going!? Time's flying isnt it

Hey Ladies!!!! How bout i've been following to older posts of The Royal Playa del Carmen weddings bc i didnt realize Gran Caribe 2013 had a forum; my FI just pointed it out to me smh LOL!!! This is great!! Super excited to talk to all the future brides!! Our wedding is set for 2/23/2013. One of our biggest concerns is the talk i've heard bout spring break during that time and @ the Gran Caribe. Have any of you gotten any feedback regarding this?? I really really dont want family and friends to deal w/ flashing or drunkeness LOL. Happy planning!! O yea Iwant to do passport invites too! but everywhere we look it's over $200 and i really really dont want to spend that on stuff thats going in the garbage within the month =( any suggestions??

I COMPLETELY AGREE!!! LOL THEY TRY 2 GET THEIR MONEY SOMEWAY SOMEHOW!!! WE DIDNT EVEN BOOK THROUGH THEM, BC THEY WERE CHARGING DOUBLE THE PRICE TO STAY @ RESORT THEN GOING THROUGH A TRAVEL AGENT SMH

I guess I will post the questions here just in case I wont get to them on that date. What are the rates of Wright Travel as opposed to going through another travel agency? My biggest concern is my guests not paying an insane amount of money for our wedding and I want to get the best rates for everyone. Also, can I get more information on the photographer used in the wedding packages of Real Resorts, as I do not see any reviews on BDW. In regards to wanting to stay @ the Royal after wedding as opposed to Gran caribe, how would that work?

Congrats on your wedding!!! I have a question, did you use Gran Caribe's photography services? I am a bit concerned since I have not heard of any brides using their services and I would like to know beforehand. Pictures are very important to us for that day. thanks!!

Does anyone know if the resort gives group discount rates? We have been emailing with the person in charge of setting up group reservations and when we mentioned the discount rate for a group, he never replied to our email!! i was just wondering what other brides were doing in terms of getting their loved ones out there for a price that's not too crzy....thanks!

hello!!! getting married in Feb 2013 and it's beautiful there!!! we went to visit last month and really wanted our wedding to b right then and there!!! It's a beautiful resort (both Gran Caribe and The Royal) both with many spots to get married and have the reception. We did no food tasting however. We saw all the venues and also spoke directly with our wedding coordinator, Diana, who answered all my 50 questions with a smile and patience lol. Looking forward to our wedding there next year and hope yours is all you dreamed it to be!!

Hey all!! My fiance and I are planning on getting married in Catholic chapel in Gran Caribe Real and was just wondering if anyone had trouble getting a letter from their church to the resort. My church has been iffy bout it and I haven't brought up the issue of letter again and was wondering how I can go about it, if any of you have any tips. Also, was wondering about reception. I really would love a beach reception but my fiance is afraid of the wind and for sand to get in everyone's food. Our wedding coordinator, Diana, agreed with him and we have decided to do it on 1 of the terraces, but my heart's still kinda set on the beach. What are your ideas on this ? Finally, has anyone discussed any rates with the resort itself? We had a difficult time communicating with the man responsible for setting up rates and when he quoted us some nightly rates and we responded asking how we can get a discount group rate, we havent heard back from him!! Thanks for any advise and CONGRATS to all the future brides!!! Cathy
