It's hit or miss w/ the prices....1 of my friends paid less then 1k! (895) for each her boyfriend and herself for 6 days @ the resort, but i've been looking for that deal and cant find it. Most of my family and friends have paid anywhere from 1200 to 1600. It's def hard to even negotiate w the resort. They were quoting me more then expedia was showing for just the resort stay!! What might also be more expensive is the time of year you're getting married Dont worry your family and friends will make it happen!! There are def cheaper resorts so it's not Mexico or the Hotel Zone, it's Gran Caribe...

Hey Ladies, things have been so crazy for me lately so sorry havent been able to respond to things on here. I'm sorry everyone is experiencing such stressful times with prices, WC's and other things from the resort. I also have been very very disappointed with the pricing on things and how they don't care to work with you at all. From the beginning I had such a hard time in even trying 2 get a discount through the resort itself. all my guests have paid an arm and a leg to stay there, and I dont even have much family going except for parents and some cousins. Even my own brother not going (that's another story within itself!!!) Things will always go wrong prior to wedding, but like Christen Jean stated, the wedding is bout the 2 of you and the love you have for one another. Everything else will fall into place. Emily I feel for you bc i'm going through something similar as well. I started out w/ a wedding party of 8, we're down to 4. it's crazy how people claim they will b there 4 you but wen the tough gets going you c who truly is there....this time hasnt even been happy 100% for me. I'm walkin on eggshells not even knowing that my mother will b there for sure until I see her on that airplane. it's constant battle and unfortunately a lot of times family is at brink of it. But hold on tight to your FI girls and lets continue to vent to each other bc it actually is good to let it all out!!. Hope everyone can get a wonderful and beautiful wedding day. We all desrve it

Kaitlyn I think it's bc all i'm asking for is vases with candles in them lol I wont have any flowers in my centerpieces. If we were having it in the states think we could get each centerpiece done for $20 or less :-/ but we couldnt carry the vases in since we're carrying so much already 4 wedding itself. def try going 4 outside vendor like Emily suggested. Or even ask resort how much they'd charge 4 just the vases and see where you can obtain flowers outside...

hey girls!! I dont think there's anything wrong w/ giving immodium in the gift bags! Your guests might actually be grateful if their tummies don't like some of the food!! haha....my gift bags include advil, benadryl, pepto, chapsticks, first aid kits, playing cards, word searches, headphones, flip flops and snacks Also asked the resort if they can provide us w/ water bottles to add to the bags, im sure that will b extra as well smh NCalvar I actually asked my WC Diana to price out some of the centerpieces I sent her that i would be interested in and the florist there quoted from 40 to 80 which I dont think is bad price, although what we want is really simple. Vases w/ candles floating and surrounding candles. Hope this helps!!

txbride, Im glad your feeling a bit more relieved bout DJ. I really do hear he's great!! And dont' worry bout your family not dancing, after the drinks I hear the waiters serve all round the reception I think everyone will be on their feet!! it will turn out great!! N yes I thnk I want to keep it to our wedding colors if we end up getting it. The all colorful thing idk hahhaa. AHHH LADIES I"M DOWN TO ALMOST 2 MONTHS AWAY!!! i get goosebumps every time i think bout it!!!

Can you guys explain to me the pricing w/ wedding packages?? I still don't get it!! I know if it's a semi-private your guests are included, but w/ a private reception it says "upgrade to 30 real resort guests." What does that mean?? Do we have to pay an extra $15 per person as a Real Resort guest, or are they included in the private reception package as in the semi private?? My WC explained it to me but I really still dont get it.... Thanks girls!

txbride!! We're debating on making our own centerpieces. We had emailed our wc also bout getting some price quotes for just simple vases w/ water and/or candles, nothing extravagant @ all!! I really hope she doesnt quote us $475 also!! thats 1/2 the wedding cost!! smh I will let you know what she gets back to us w/. There is a Walmart down the road from resort from what I found during our site visit so we're thinking of buying vases there if pricing is 2 crazy. As for flowers, we're going with what comes in our package. I also hate spending money!!!

Alicia have fun checking out the place!! you wont want to leave!!! LOL I hope you get all your questions answered and Diana is really nice and answered all our questions..(altho i didnt realize how much more questions I had after we left smh) we met w/ her in January, she's our WC also! Cant wait to hear all bout it...just let me know how the food is if you can get the chance to do a taste test n good luck w your hair!!

txbrideinmexico we're also making the bags down there. we're buying limitd supplies up here. from what ive read w/ previous brides they dont experience a hard time with customs. It would just be annoying to travel w all that stuff. we also want to make our own centerpieces down there but just dont want to risk not finding what we want
-
That's a good idea Alicia!! Please let me know what they say bout that also! If they're going to charge extra we're thinking of just hitting up the Walmart down the road and buying some vases throwing some gems in them and calling it a day. Really dont want to spend over $50 for centerpieces!! esp if people prob wont even be taking them home w/ them!! We're doing HOT SAUCE Going to Dollar Tree picking up some and packing them as beest we can...looking for labels (Ebay is usually good for that). I think it would go perfect w/ the Mexico theme. Def not shipping anything in advance, rather just check everything in and hope 4 the best, think less risk in them losing that stuff then shipping it over. When we went for site visit our wedding coordinator suggested we dont do that. What we're planning is to check just the hot sauces, and all other items we'll pack in our carryons..

Wow you're doing great Emily!! I'm less then 4 months away n freaking outttt b/c I still have so much more to do!! I've done all that plus we still have to go pick out my fiance's suit, the guy's outfits, have to get my MOH another dress since she's now pregnant n will be showing by then UGH!! Have to get my mother's dress, bridesmaids gifts, groomsmen gifts, finish purchasing items for the OOT bags, get my shoes and jewelry, and MOST IMPORTANTLY send in the letter for the chapel, which still waiting on our church to draft it up SMH.Oh yea still have to purchase our favors, which we know what we're getting just have to get to store n get them, send list of songs to DJ, and decide on flowers and centerpieces, which btw is anyone making their own? I really m not thrrillled w/ the choices they have...i just wanted something simple w/ candles Hope the stuff I have left to do helps you out a bit in regards to what you have left to do!!
-
thanks emily you've been a great help!! hopefully the seafood stuffed chicken is pretty decent!! LOL n happybride2be...im also worried bout the no shoulders showing stuff, but dont think they will make a big deal, im sure as long as everyone is dressed fairly decent they wont make it a big thing. i just rec'd the contract to sign and i will sign in agreement w the stuff, but if they didnt make a big deal for past brides i dont thnk it would be fair if they started w/ us!!
-
cool thanks!! Yea it does add up!! Esp when it's same meal choices as wedding, really wouldnt be anything special for the guests. I'm mad we didnt do any tastings when we went for the site visit!! which did you guys end up choosing? We are doing the seafood stuffed chicken and the beef fillet. I hope those are to everyone's liking!!

So ladies my FI and I are discussing paying for our church deacon to marry us in the chapel in Gran Caribe. Only concern is he doesnt have a passport either, so what's your advise on paying for the passport also? Is that our responsibility also? It's already going to be pricey flying him out but we really want him to be the one to marry us. HELP!

ALICIA, YES WE DID BOOK HIM WE KEEP HEARING SUCH GREAT THINGS BOUT DOREMIXX SO WE FIGURED LETS' JUST SPLURGE AND GO FOR IT. WHAT'S A WEDDING W/O A DJ ANYWAY RIGHT!? I DOUBT YOU WILL DEF NEED ANY DECOR COMPANY SEPERATE. JUST SPEAK TO HIM AND SEE IF HE COULD MEET UR NEEDS W/ THE DECOR. THE RESORT ALSO WILL DO ANYTHING YOU NEED; AT AN EXTRA COST OF COURSE!!
-
ALICIA, I'M ALSO LOOKING TO DO SOME EXTRA LIGHTING. THINK IT CAN BE DONE THROUGH THE DJ IF YOU GO THROUGH DJ DOREMIXX. HE SENT ME A BUNCHA LIGHTING LINGO VIA EMAIL WHICH JUST CONFUSED ME, SO I'M THINKING OF SENDING HIM PICS OF WHAT WE WANT IT TO LOOK LIKE THE DAY OF. WE'RE ALSO HAVING RECEPTION ON ALBATROS TERRACE IT'S 950 FOR DJ BUT I'M SURE THE LIGHTING WILL B EXTRA.

Photography is extremely important to both my fiance and I for our wedding day. Not only will it capture every detail that we would want to remember, but it's one of the most important ways to look back @ the wedding day and remember!! I look forward to one day showing my children and grandchildren pictures of how wonderful the day was, how beautiful I looked and how great their father/grandfather looked. I think it's def a very important aspect of any wedding, but especially a destination wedding since so many beautiful and romantic pictures can be captured during the moment. Photography is very important to my fiance, as it is one of his favorite hobbies of all time. What better way to make his wedding day extra special then to have someone there to capture all our moments together, and with our family and dear friends by our side.
