  1. Ahh.. that makes sense.. thanks for the info. I will contact my TA to see what 7 days or 7 nights prices would be. Because it seems to me that your rates are better than mine. Does your rates include the taxes, transfers, etc?
  2. I just sent you the email. ) Let me know if you have any problems opening the files.
  3. Do you get better quotes for people staying longer? Or do they the same? Would it be okay if we did a week block and some stayed for less than a week? Yes, sorry I meant get a quote for more days.
  4. Sorry, I never got too far along in the process of booking our DW in the Bahamas. We was about to sign our contract and put down 4500 for the Cloisters but decided to look into other options.. We have now decided on Punta Cana, we found a gorgous all inclusive resort for a much better price. There were a few ladies in the past whom had their weddings at Atlantis and they had great information but most seems to be older posts. I will say WeddingsintheBahamas.com seem to be great wedding coordinators with fair prices. For Photography we were considering bringing a friend whom does photography. I know outsiders have to purchase a license and if at Atlantis you have to pay them a 300 fee for not using their photog services. Or at least this is what I have read. Do you have a Travel Agent? If not, contact Barbara (Babs) Vong with Wright Travel. They are one of the preferred travel agencies for BDW. And since she was helping me with our DW to Paradise Island, she should have plenty of information to share.) Luciano's has their menu and all their dining options online. you can view online or print it.. It's a pretty decent sized book of info. I know it will be frustrating not having other ladies to share the same DW location with but if you need anything at all, please let me know and I will try to help. )
  5. heheh.. ) Glad to hear I'm not just stalking you.. or that would be creepy.. lol And I most definitely agree with all of your reasons as well!.. Okay.. So I have a question about how to determine "dates" some of our guests are wanting to stay a week, we are def staying no less than a week, but I figured some may only stay for say 3nights. so I had my TA do group rates for 3 nights.. and she came back with this.. These are group rates for May 28-31, 2013 (3 nights). The rates are per person and include hotel tax, housekeeping and bellman gratuities and round trip transfers. I have listed the 3 night rate and additional night rate: Jacuzzi Jr Suite Single: $594/$180 Double: $414/$120 Triple: $378/$108 Child (0-12): $295/$84 Jr Suite Swim Up Single: $645/$197 Double: $447/$131 Triple: $408/$118 Child (0-12): $319/$92 Are your rates per person or per couple for a week? Should I up my dates?
  6. Love the orange and pink!! These are my colors as well! ;o)
  7. Shay.. I think it shouldn't be a big deal to add a day. The guests that will want to stay will have plenty of time to schedule their vacation days and the ones that can't stay can always leave on their originally planned day.. ) Are wedding is going to be on a Wednesday.. all of oour guests said they had plenty of time to work with our schedule.. Better flight prices as well.. So maybe if yall leave on Monday it will reduce flight costs ;o) PuntaBride!!.. When are you getting married again?.. I say you should stick with me and go for the Majestic Elegance.. their resort looks sooo amazing!! ;o) I can't believe we are converting from our beloved Cloister/Atlantis.. But I think it's a better decision for our guests and especially us as far as prices go.
  8. Soo glad I was following Punta Bride and found this thread... lol... ) We was planning to get married at Atlantis/cloister in the Bahamas but now We are looking at getting married at Majestic Elegance on May 29th, 2013 @ the Gazebo.. Thinking maybe a 4:00 ceremony.. Wasn't sure of a good time but I don't want a big gap between the ceremony and dinner. We just got our group rates from our TA the other night and ME sent my TA 9 attachments if anyone wants them. (I can post or email) But they seem to be the same info as Heidi aka "Tink" and Cindy from here had sent me. These ladies just had a little bit more info purtaining to reception dinners.
  9. Thanks Ladies!! That helped a lot!!! Getting the legal part out of the way is a great way to put it!.. ) I too think we will keep that all to ourselves and plan a day to go to the courthouse.. Hopefully we can just sign and leave.. and then have our special day with friends and family in Punta Cana.. Now for an odd question.. If we live in different states.. How does this work??.. Or does it matter? Guess I have more reading up to do than I thought.. but hopefully someone else on here has experience with this. )
  10. Ahh.. Thanks for the info!.. I guess it really wont matter either way.. A marriage is a marriage to me.. ) I informed my fiance that we won't be married in my eyes until the ceremony.. He said does that mean we can get married tomorrow?.. lol.. but I guess if we go the symbolic route we'll just go right before we leave for PC.. If we getting married in the states does that mean we have to do the small ceremony thing? and go over the vows? Or would we just signs the papers? .. I never thought this would be soo difficult and confusing.. Maybe someone else will also share opinions.....
  11. What type of ceremony are you bride and grooms having? I've never heard of these options until now, and maybe I'm making this out to be more difficilt than it really is.. But can someone help me see which one is better to do.. ? I live in Alabama, my fiance lives in Georgia and we are looking to be married in Punta Cana. Thanks!! Civil ceremony A civil ceremony is performed by a Dominican Judge. This is legally binding and includes the marriage certificate delivered to your home. This province of The Dominican Republic only has one legal judge so securing dates can be difficult. Please advise us as soon as possible if you require a civil/legal wedding. Please bear in mind that marriage certificate can take up to 3 months to be received. Note: The judge may change the time of the wedding - even after it had been confirmed. The ceremony will be performed by the Judge in Spanish and translated by one of the wedding coordinators. For assistance with legal documents please contact the Dominican Embassy / Consulate in your country or visit: www.wedo.com.do Symbolic ceremony Is performed by your wedding coordinator and is almost identical to the civil ceremony except it is not legally binding. This is far less complicated than the other two options as you do not have to organize, translate and bring legal documents to Dominican Republic. You have to get legally married in your country before your stay with us and we will just need you to bring us a copy of your marriage certificate / license. You can also bring your own Minister to perform the ceremony.
  12. Aww.... It's all soooo GORGEOUS!!.. I saved most of your pics for my inspiration!! ;o) LOVE the bouquet!.. I haven't figured out how to make those yet.. Very creative of you!! Especially with the Bout for your hubby! Super cute "love is sweet" table.. I'm def going to do one of these for our AHR.. And where did you find that big thumb print tree?? All the ones I've seen say they will email you the file and I want something bigger than a regular sheet of paper.
  13. My travel agent is asking me what our ideal ceremony time would be so that she can see if it is available.... We are wanting to do the ceremony and then take pictures with everyone, etc.. And then go to dinner.. I believe the dinner times start at 6 or 6:30.. And we didn't want to have to wait several hours between the ceremony and dinner... Our date, we hope, is Wednesday May the 29th, 2013. What ceremony times are you ladies doing or thinking about??...
  14. How much would shipping be for the recipe cards? To 30144 or 35180? These are sooo cute!!!
  15. I 2nd that!!.. I see that this post is older.. Any update that I am missing?
  16. I understand your frustration.. I will say I work at a bank.. Not the banking part, but we get broadcast emails when we have issues and errors.. I got a broadcast email one day that went to all employees.. Apparently there was a glitch in the system and payments and purchases were double processed.. As soon as I saw the email of course I logged into my account and realized a couple of my payments and purchases I had made within a few days were double charged.. Luckily someone caught the issue and refunded all of the 2nd transactions without me having to make any calls. Your bank should be able to see its the exact payment twice because it more than likely was processed within seconds or minutes after the first.. But if it does go through, the bank can reverse the transaction or you should be able to call the company and they see the double payment and refund the 2nd one.
  17. Aww.. I see why would would want the 11th, and great reasons!.. How would your guests feel about leaving on Monday the 13th instead?
  18. Ahhh, awesome, Thanks for sharing!!.. Semi-private is fine for us since we plan to have an AHR for all of our friends and family with music, dancing, etc.. Will you please send me those links? My email is [email protected]
  19. They charge you an initial fee of $50 but promise to add it to your accomodations.. I had a bad experience with them a couple of months ago.. But I would def check BBB.com (better business bureau) for anyone whom is considering using DW.com
  20. Aww... Those are super cute!.. I'm wishing I would have went with our initial color choice, which was turquoise!.. We ended up going with Fushia and Orange instead.. But I am still interested in those other items I asked you about.. ) Thanks Girl!
  21. Interested in these items... Could you please let me know how much shipping would be for 35180 or 30144? 2 Bridesmaids T-Shirts Size M/L $15 a piece or 2 for $25 6 Naught Nite kits in turquoise organza bags $2.00 *contents include: condoms, dental dams, lube, VCF film 1 Fuchsia wrapphia ribbon $2.50 2 fuchsia serving trays $6.50 Do you have a picture of these?... 30 going to the beach and gonna get married signs on Bazille Diamond White paper $3.50 30 Turquoise lunch bags $6.50
  22. I'm actually glad I have converted from a Bahamas wedding to a Punta Cana one.. Seems like I came across a ton more of info and future brides!!.. But I hate having to read through hundreds of posts hoping someone will eventually bring up prices for certain things, or info on certain things I'm looking for.. So here are my questions about Dinners at ME and/or MC... For those doing a Reception Dinners and/or Welcome Dinners.. How does the pricing work for per person dinners and drinks since it is an all inclusive resort? And where are the best locations? What are the Set-up fee's? Do you have a set menu that you choose or do they choose one for you? I have read somewhere that someone paid about $50-70 per person.. But then read somewhere else that someone opted for a "free dinner" Of course I want to be as frugal as possible so that we can also have an AHR, but I want everything to be nice and something we will be proud of. Any other info you have on Dinners at these resorts that you would like to share, including pictures. Please do so!! ) Everything, as always, is greatly appreciated from myself and future brides.
  23. Since I am obsessed with this site.. It has become my new Facebook... lol.. I've noticed several ladies out there are moms or have mothers the same age as mine.. And for me it is sooo hard for me to find something for my Mom for any holiday, especially Mother's Day. I'm 23, and normally I get her spa certificates, nail certificates, always flowers, and sometimes bath sets from Bath & Body (that she never seems to use..) So I need help... What are good Mothers Day gifts?..
  24. That's a great idea!! Are you going to do RSVP's for you AHR? I think I will want to DIY some so that I can get an idea of how many will attend, that will help determine our location choice. I wouldn't mind something simple either.. I could even make dishes and have mom and MIL's help make food to keep costs down.. I just really want to have dancing.. But maybe I should just think more of a simple gathering. I just didn't know what else we could do that would be fun.. Ugh.. As if the DW was stressful enough. :-S Where do you plan to have yours?
