  1. Great timeline! Thanks for sharing! I'll add this to my wedding binder.
  2. I would like to have a father daughter dance with my dad.... but maybe we can do that at our AHR while others are dancing as well. For the DW reception, I totally torn as what to do. Our ceremony is at 6, and dinner is at 8.. I'm just not sure how we could squeeze a reception in. Thanks for your help and insight Jenna! ) what is your wedding timeline?
  3. I'm jealous!.. That is exactly what type of AHR I want to have! We live in different states now and haven't found "our" home in Georgia yet... I'm hoping for a big yard, but chances are slim since there don't seem to be many homes with big yards in our preferred areas. Are you DIY'ing a photobooth or hiring a photobooth service? I def want one of these!
  4. Tink!!... I love your dress!!! I was in love with an Allure dress, they have amazing fits. ) Love the sweetheart and beading design as well! Congrats on finding your dress!! That's awesome it will only take 2 weeks to come in! Can't wait to see you in it! )
  5. Thank you!! ) I can't wait to have it fitted! I'm removing the flower from the top left of the dress and making it into a hair flower. )
  6. I've sent an email to my WC requesting the fee, once she gets back with me I'll let you know. As far as bracelets, yes, I have read many reviews about everyone taking bracelets off for photos, ceremony, etc. You just have to make sure you get a new one once done.
  7. Now that your wedding is over, have you thought about posting pictures and selling your wedding goodies? Our colors are orange, pink and a hint of green.
  8. Thank you for sharing, yalls circumstances are almost exactly the same! I def feel for you at Christmas time. I do believe the wedding will be the first time they have all seen each other since my fiance was young and I'm really hoping for no snide remarks. I have a feeling we are going to halft to talk to both mothers and do as you did and tell them to put on at least a fake smile around each other. I just know now the moms talk about each other, I don't know the history, but it still bothers me and makes me feel uncomfortable. :-/ I def thought step-mom would be a smack in the face as she was the one my fiance lived with for most of his life. I didn't want to hurt his bilogical moms feelings but I feel that they are both the major contributors that made him the awesome person that he is. ) So i hope she understands. Now with mother/son dances, how are you handling that in your circumstance? And writing them out on the ceremony program, is my biggest concern.. I have to write step-mother right? so that that people aren't confused.. Or should I just put mom and dad twice? I am probably stressing over this more than I should.
  9. lol... I too am terrible with making decisions... I was firmly set on the steakhouse for our wedding dinner for 5 months after comtemplating for a month or so! If not longer, and then last week I changed it to the See & Sea. Our wedding is on Wednesday, we are arriving on Monday, so we plan to put our bags together once we arrive and figured everyone should be there the night before the wedding... so a welcome / getting acquianted would be awesome. Our families haven't all gotten to meet each other yet since we're in different states. Hmm your right about the buffet having options for everyone.. I too will consider this one. ) I guess we should wait til we get a firm headcount to reserve seating, or should we go ahead and tell the WC we want to do a welcome dinner and will get back with her on a firm headcount? My fiance says we may be asking too much of our guests to do the welcome dinner + ceremony + wedding dinner when some are using this as their vacations.. I personally thought it would be nice to get everyone together and meet before the wedding and also so we can give out our OOT bags.
  10. Aww.. I'll bet that's going to be gorgeous!.. My colors were originally pink and orange, but I incorporated green into the color scheme while designing my invites and RSVP card.. Maybe I should incorporate green into the decor. ) Def can't wait to see pictures of your linens. )
  11. Good Morning Ladies.. I'm hoping I'm not the only one confused when it comes to this topic... but my fiance's parents split up when he was younger and both parents have remarried and have children with their new spouses. He has a close relationship with his mother and step-mother. But from what I've gathered the women don't like each other.... So first I am worried about our destination wedding and them having to be around each other, but I'm thinking since it's our wedding they will put their feelings aside and just be there for us and have a great time. As I started thinking of DIY projects, I'm wondering how I should handle certain things.. Like for instance, I'm making DIY rhinestoned shirts for my bridal party and wanted to make "mother of the bride" and "mother of the groom" tanks. with him having the two moms is it okay for me to make them both a tank? Should they both say mother of the groom or should one say "step-mother" of the groom? I don't want to hurt anyones feelings but they both raised him and are close to him and I want them both to be included. My fiance's response to my question, they will get over it, it's our wedding. lol.. I had the same thought but just wanted to share for advice. Let me add, I am actually super happy about getting a huge family!.. 2 new moms, 2 new dads, 2 awesome sets of grandparents, and 7 brothers and sisters. Can I hide out at Christmas time?? lol..
  12. I guess the prices aren't too terribly bad if you have a ton of decor items, but I feel like placing my own bought sashes on chairs for the dinner and ceremony and putting raffia fans and ceremony programs on the chairs is just not worth $415. I'd rather use less than half of that to buy two members of our families nice gifts to show our appreciation for helping us set up the decor.
  13. What color did you order? Can't wait to see pics. )
  14. I'm looking for pink satin. ) Anyone thinking of selling?
  15. My samples came in a while back and I forgot the comment, but I was not a fan of the organza sashes, they were short and the colors didn't pop much.. but I loved the satin, although I don't think they are exactly our color pink. Any other website suggestions?
  16. Hey Ladies, just wanted to share... If you really like Phil Steingards work and he is not available on your date, also check out Michael Steingard and Jamie Dimitry. Both do amazing work, and are very nice. Same prices as Phil with the same photo/edit styles. And best of all, no resort fee's as they stay at the resort.
  17. Is that what your looking for? If so you can copy and paste the image in a word doc and crop the wording out.
  18. Are you ladies doing a welcome dinner? I would love to but I'm not sure when everyone is planning to arrive just yet.. Some guests are staying a week, and some as little as 2 or 3 nights.. I just had the idea of doing a rehearsal / welcome dinner for everyone to attend and give the bags out then because surely everyone will arrive the night before the wedding. Thoughts? Can the welcome dinner be scheduled in say, the steakhouse or one of the other restaurants with the WC prior to arriving? We are getting married on a Wednesday, so I'm hoping that will keep the restaurants a little less crowded.
  19. Here is the information the WC sent to me in regards to setting up my own chair sashes... Charges for professional decorators: if you plan to bring your own decorations but you don’t want to get involved with the set up we offer you this Service. Ceremony set up: Up to 20 guests US$150.00 21 – 50 guests US$190.00 51 – 80 guests US$250.00 80 – 100 guests US$300.00 Reception set up: Up to 20 guests US$190.00 21 – 50 guests US$225.00 51 – 80 guests US$300.00 80 – 100 guests US$350.00
  20. I know there is a fee, but I don't remember how much. Whatever it was, we decided we would hand them out because the fee per bag was too much just for dropping off a bag. But I may need to ask our WC this to make sure the info I received was correct. You too may also want to send an email to your WC.
  21. Congrats! ) And welcome to the forum! I know one lady here has mentioned doing hors d'oeuvers, but I forgot whom. I think it's a great idea if you plan to have a big party after the ceremony. Just make sure the guests are aware so that they could eat a late lunch that day. One thing that is great is there is a place at the resort where people can eat at any time of the night in case they get hungry. ) One thing I loved and decided to change our venue from the Steakhouse to the See & Sea. Im not fond of the S&S's menu and I don't think a few of the other guests will be either, but it was a view we just couldn't pass up. And there is always the late night snack bar. ) We torn with an after party, we want to do one, but our wedding will take place at 6pm. And dinner plans are at 8.
  22. lol..You know me too well.. To be honest, I have bought crystals in the past.. I don't know why, lol.. But I'm pretty sure they are the iron on type and I never knew it. So I don't think there is a big difference but the flat backs seem to be less expensive. Once I receive my order I will examine them to see which looks best and try to take pictures for you. ) As far as the cake topper, I plan to paint it with silver acrylic paint I got from Hobbly Lobby and then attach the rhinestones with E6000 glue. )
  23. My vote is also for the Marion!.. You should feel like a bride on your special day!! And I love that sexy slit! )
