  1. My colors are navy blue, white, coral, and tan. It was a process to get there lol. When my girls bought their coral dresses I had assumed my FI and his groomsmen would be wearing navy... to my surprise he wanted tan. We are making it work :-) I didn't want anything to be too matchy-matchy, so my girls picked their own dress in Coral Reef from David's Bridal. The guys can pick their own navy blue ties. This is the inspiration board we made to bring all the colors together:
  2. Hello ladies :-) I know several of you have celebrated your big day (or will celebrate!) with the Maggie Sottero "Reese" dress. I have this dress in ivory but it is currently out for alterations so I can not use it for reference right now :-/ I was hoping that someone might have some detail photos of the pearls and crystals on their ivory "Reese". I am shopping for accessories and recall the beading to be quite a bit more "ivory" and soft than bright and white. I'm also having trouble recalling the concentration of pearls to crystals. I would like to see if both ivory and white pearls are mixed in as well as the overall coloring of the straps. If anyone has found "slam dunk" jewelry matches (earrings, bracelets, barefoot sandals) for this dress I would be infinitely appreciative if you shared your finds with me :-) Thank you! Kelly
  3. Just curious about the jewelry some of you have chosen... I'm looking for earrings that match the beads, pearls, and crystals on the straps. Did anyone find something that matched perfectly?
  4. Wow this looks amazing on you! I, too, tried on the sample size but just couldn't envision it while it was hanging off of me like a bag. This picture makes me wish I'd given it another chance! Gorgeous!
  5. Hello Ladies, I know a lot of you have selected this gown for your destination weddings! Had a question for all of you: I brought my gown in for alterations this past weekend and was really pleased with the experience. One thing I was surprised by is that rather than sewing in cups as I had expected, the seamstress wants me to buy a strapless bra that she would alter and then sew into the dress. She says that it will not show or mess with the way the dress lays, but that it will give me more support and lift. Sounds good in theory, as I'd like to see my gals looking their best, but I have never heard of this. I'm also worried about the low-back and how that will work out. This is the first thing I've ever had altered to me other than pant length, so I'm not especially confident. The Yelp reviews for this lady are great, but I have no idea how to tell from my experience how this will turn out and I am nervous. Anyone have any experience with this? Did anyone DO this with their Reese? Reasons to go one way or the other? Thanks for any thoughts and experiences! Kelly
  6. Good morning! I wish I had discovered this section of the forum before we made our STDs and Invitations... I had no idea there were templates out there for this! But they still turned out so fun and beautiful. One of my bridesmaids is a graphic designer and made our invitations for us... everything from design to managing cost and material. She did a fabulous job and I just wanted to share the end product! Best wishes to all in 2013!!!! :-) :-) Kelly
  7. Thanks to everyone for sharing their gorgeous rings! And congratulations to all on your engagements! I still find it hard to believe, but my amazing fiance designed, cast, and set my engagement ring :-) Though he had never done anything like this before, he did such an amazing job. Even better is that he made me a video of the entire process to show me after the engagement: Our destination wedding is in April. Now I'm getting ready to make HIS wedding band. He'll be helping me but I'm not as crafty as he is so I'm a bit nervous :-) I love that he thought to do this and learned an entire hobby for me... I never imagined I'd have something with this much sentimental value. Thanks for letting me share and Happy Holidays :-)
  8. Hey Ladies! My plan for my bridesmaids was for them to pick any dress they wanted in the coral color palette, a la this photo: I love how the personality of each bridesmaids shines through! But alas. My girls feel too much pressure with so many choices and all of them have been gravitating towards David's Bridal dresses in Coral Reef. Does anyone have any real life, even on the beach pics of this color from David's Bridal? It strikes me as pinker than I was going for if there aren't going to be in deeper pops of color mixed in there. I really just want them to pick a dress that fits them well, is what they want, and is affordable. If they find that DB fits that bill I'll get on board and have them all get different dresses in Coral Reef. I'd just really like to see some real life pics of the color in lighting I will be using them in (on the beach). For what it's worth my colors are navy, coral, white, and tan... here's the inspiration board I put together. Thanks for any help/pics you can provide! Kelly

  10. Hello everyone :-) I have an enormous family. Huge. This is exactly the reason that a destination wedding is for us. Our destination wedding will likely have 50-60 guests, and that is going to be considerably smaller than anything we could have had in the states Despite the fact that very few of my large family will actually attend our Mexican wedding due to finances and young children, we are sagely preparing our budget as if every invitation we send will be accepted. To limit the list, I will only send invitations to my aunts and uncles even though I would rather my adult cousins have the opportunity to attend our wedding and though they are more likely to be able to attend than the aunts/uncles... I had to make a hard-nosed cutoff somewhere. We are planning to have an informal get-together at home sometime after the wedding. I am sending every aunt and uncle an invitation despite the fact that I do not expect 90% of them to attend. The point here is that I could not invite some (but not all) without risking hurt feelings. So I have 2 questions regarding invitations and/or save-the-dates: 1. I don't care, however I will likely be considered 'hoity-toity' for having a destination wedding. I do not expect or demand that any of my extended family come, I am only sending the invitations because I want them to know that each aunt and uncle have been considered equally. That said, I want to give my guests an "easy out" so that they do not feel uncomfortable or pressured to join us. I figured I would say something to the effect of "I understand that not everyone will be able to join us on our big day so we will be having a small reception when we return". I feel like I should put this on the Save-the-Date so that people know my expectation level right up front. Thoughts on timing or wording? 2. I will address these invitations to my aunts and uncles however if the can not attend but wanted to give their seat to their children/my adult cousins, that would be ok with me. Essentially 2 members from every family are invited. Though I don't really care which 2, it can not exceed that number. Is it even possible to communicate this? I look forward to your responses. All this planning can be so worrisome but I can be thick-skinned about my decisions so long as I feel like I am doing the "correct" thing. Best, Kelly
  11. Hello, I am interested in downloading this spreadsheet but I am getting an error message telling me I do not have permissions. Any ideas on how to get these permissions? Thanks! Kelly
