  1. So I'm looking from some help from anyone who has visited either the Riu Palace Tropical Bay or Iberostar Rose Hall Suites. I'm really torn between the two resorts as they both have pros and cons. Riu TB Palace has a more laid back island feel that I think would make us feel like we are more in Jamaica. Its in Negril so the beach is apparently amazing. The only negatives I can see are that the 2 pools are very small, the rooms look somewhat dated, and you need to get up very early to make dinner reservations. It also doesn't look like there are any special suites or family rooms for people. Everyone just gets the same room which to me doesn't sound too special for a bride. And there is no disco/club at the hotel, so after the wedding is over where do we go? Also, an hour and a half drive from the airport doesn't sound too appealing once you've been flying for 6.5hrs. Iberostar Rose Hall Suites has a great pool and lazy river. It also allows access to the Rose Hall Beach area and gives guests the options to upgrade to the Grand. The service is apparently amazing and grounds are very well maintained. The beach is also suppose to be fairly good for being manmade. And I like how it is close to Montego Bay. There is only one wedding per day, but the beach weddings don't seem very private. My other concern is that the wedding reception at the steak house does not look very classy? But I do like that you can have a beach bonfire. This resort is also $200 less per person than the Riu TBP. Thoughts or input that anyone has would be appreciated. I'm so nervous making a decision when I have never seen these resorts and have never been to Jamaica. Help:).
  2. Stacy29, Did you find out anymore information on these resorts to help you make a decision? I'm also having a difficult time trying to decide between the two and really want to get married in Negril in January 2013. Our group of around 40-50 people are all around the age of 30 and want to make sure we are somewhere that has a lot going on (we don't want the resort to shut down at 11 and everyone go to bed). I can't really find any good forums on here with information abought nightlife and leaving the resort and so forth. Shauna
  3. So I'm having a really hard time deciding between a few hotels in Jamaica. There are some pro's and con's for each of them and I just can't decide. If any of you have input on any of them or even have been to a few of them to help compare it would be great. Beaches Negril - I'm worried its more for children. We don't have anything against children being around, but we also don't want to feel like we are in a playground or that we feel guilty being drunk and partying in a play park:). I'm also worried that the wedding package will end up getting really expensive here??? Riu Negril - can you do a private reception? And does anyone know if you could pick your own location for the wedding. We don't really want a beach wedding and also don't want to get married in a gazebo. We were hoping for a tree background. Also, the rooms here look somewhat dated, can anyone comment on that? And nightlife - is there a lot happening after say 10pm? Iberostar - The only thing I'm worried about here is the beach. If we are going all the way to Jamaica for the beach why would we stay in Montego Bay rather than head to one of the nicest beaches in the world (Negril 7 mile)? The hotel however looks amazing. Also, what is the nightlife like here? I know these are a lot of questions, I just keep going in circles on which place to book. We will be having approx. 50 people coming to the wedding with only my 6&4 year old niece and nephew as children. Our group of people coming really enjoy partying (day and night) and want an upbeat resort with lots of activities. We don't want everything to shut down at 10pm and are worried this might happen at Beaches. I know the group you are with makes the fun, but if there is nowhere to have the fun then what happens? Any input will be very helpful!!!! Shauna
