Looking For Rental Companies
Ceelou replied to acosta's topic in Riviera Maya and Cancun Wedding Vendors
There is also what I call the "Mexi Michaels" in Playa del Carmen. We bought all of our vases there as well as ribbon, balloons etc. There are fabric stores in town as well for lace and other rustic looking fabrics. I packed 2 boxes of decor to bring down as they were only $20 each to check as long as they were under 50 pounds. It was mostly paper goods, banners/flags I ordered from Etsy: www.etsy.com/ca/shop/lulaflora so it worked well! Good luck!- 4 replies

I made mine for our wedding but if I would have known how much time it was going to to take I would have gladly paid the extra $! Amols was great too. Pretty cheap! A few Etsy shops have great designs and aren't too expensive: https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/AyMujer https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/lulaflora https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/Vintagebabydoll

It was absolutely worth it for our wedding. Erica from Weddings in Playa took care of every last detail and made it easy for us to enjoy our friends and family worry free! And yes, we did save money here and there due to her contacts and recommendations. I definitely suggest you look into it!- 27 replies

Hair & Make Up Cancun Area
Ceelou replied to mark82's topic in Riviera Maya and Cancun Wedding Vendors
I used Doranna who gets amazing reviews and she was fantastic. She'll travel to you and do trials as well. Trained in Italy and worked around the world. Super amazing and talented woman! http://dorannahairstylist.com -
I haven't heard of them... I hired Doranna and she was amazing. Lots of pics for inspiration on her site as well: http://dorannahairstylist.com Your resort shouldn't charge you to bring in a stylist.

Hi and Congrats! I used a bunch of vendors that were super - I wrote a review/breakdown here:http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/83135/our-wedding-dream-team#post_1838508 I highly recommend Doranna for hair - she was great! And I loved our flowers: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/products/florieria-jardin-garden-florists/reviews/6655 Good luck with the planning process, enjoy!

Hi, I wrote this breakdown of who we used for our wedding at a beach club you may find helpful: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/83135/our-wedding-dream-team#post_1838508 I also posted individual reviews for most vendors. We gave our guests 3 options for accommodations, all within walking distance in town and it worked out great as there was something to fit every budget. There are many inexpensive and amazing restaurants in town. You just need to do a bit of research and compile a short list to help everyone out. Look these up to start! El Fogon La Piola El Diez Carboncitos La Kalaka Las Brisas Our guests stayed at Las Palapas, The Bric, Aventura Mexicana and we stayed in the condo affiliated with Las Palapas. Everyone had a great time!

Hi, Acanto is right in the heart of downtown, so yes, it is a good base if you want to experience all the amazing things Playa has to offer while doing your site visits. I would check reviews to make sure noise isn't an issue as you will be fairly close to 12th, the big nightclub scene (think: BOOM BOOM BOOM until 5am...) There are some wonderful boutique hotels that include breakfast a little further north, where, in my opinion, some of the better restaurants and beaches are. It's also a "newer" part of town so less vendors and souvenir shop type stores. You may want to check out Hotel Aventura Mexicana or La Tortuga. Both really nice, clean, comfortable and charming and still right in the heart of town. I've stayed at both and loved them. Good luck!

One of my favorite villa weddings is this one: http://www.playa.info/playa-del-carmen-forum/59230-our-wedding-playacar-11-days-playa-del-carmen-nov-2010-a.html I'd also suggest hiring a planner to help bring it all together. You'll want to spend your time enjoying your friends and family, not running around and organizing! They can also help sort all the payments and coordinate with vendors. A huge plus.

Private wedding venue at the MR
Ceelou replied to albertalou's topic in Riviera Maya and Cancun Accommodations & Site
Bonjour de Montreal! We also were really set on a private venue and chose Blue Venado Beach Club. It's totally private and really beautiful. You can see my review here: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/products/blue-venado-beach-club/reviews/6650 And you can find more pictures in my other reviews! Good luck! -
Hi, You may have already picked your vendors but thought my review on who we used could help future brides as it answers all your questions! http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/83135/our-wedding-dream-team#post_1838508 And Rama - Weddings in Playa have planned weddings in Tulum, Cancun, Puerto Morelos and beyond... highly suggest you consider them!

Stressing you out is the opposite of what your planner should be doing! So sorry to hear you're having this problem. If you are already experiencing this kind of bad service, I wouldn't hesitate to switch! You need to be able to count on quick replies and someone who is able to make the planning process easy and fun. I can't say enough about the planners we used for our past November wedding. Erica and Maria at Weddings in Playa. You can check out my review and others on this site. Hope things turn around for you! And of course, congrats!

The standards for cleanliness are the same as anywhere in the world... Have you read any reports about it being otherwise? When we went, the syringes were brand new, unopened until it was time to draw blood. The nurse came to our condo and was very friendly and professional and it was all over in 15 minutes. I really didn't think it was a hassle at all and don't know where this information about it being so complicated comes from. My brother in law went to the Hospiten outside Playa for his arm (broke it playing in rough water) and said it was one of the cleanest hospitals he has been in and that he has never had better service. You have nothing to worry about. As for the ceremony, yes, a legal ceremony will be in Spanish. Your planner or justice of the peace will provide you with the script in English as well and you are welcome to have a friend or family member read along. It was very romantic and felt authentic to us...

Blue Venado???
Ceelou replied to marilili's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
Hi Matt - no need to apologize... I just want to make sure I support all the amazing people that DID make our wedding so great and ensure they are getting the credit they deserve! Thanks for looking into it! -
Blue Venado???
Ceelou replied to marilili's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
I see that the recommended coordinator, Paradisius Weddings, has our wedding pictures up on their facebook page and website. I just want to clarify that we did not use this vendor. We hired Erica of Weddings in Playa, who did the greatest job at putting our wedding together. Maybe Paradisius is just trying to show other weddings at BV on their site but it's confusing for other brides considering them and I would hate to think they are taking credit for something they had no involvement in. -
Some of the wonderful people that helped make our wedding day so magical don't have a spot for reviews on this site so I just wanted to put this info out there for all the future brides out there looking for fabulous people to help make their wedding dreams come true. Erica Bressan of Weddings in Playa - a superwoman of wedding coordinators. The list of adjectives to describe how amazing she is can go on and on. Extremely organized, connected, respected, reliable, friendly and prompt are just a few. Erica made sure everything was in it's place, remembered all the little details I would have forgotten in the madness and made planning a wedding from another country a breeze. Always in touch with the vendors, always keeping us posted and always coming up with ways to make our process as stress free as possible. She went beyond what was expected and helped us with our welcome dinner, drove us around for supplies and was always there when we needed her. We had the pleasure of meeting with Maria as well for our initial site visit and I can assure any of you out there that these two ladies care about their clients, take pride in their work and weddings and will not disappoint you. On top of being great at their job, they are cool to hang out with too Erica hooked us up with caterers for our welcome dinner, the most delicious cupcakes for the wedding, great shops for supplies and decor and recommended the venue, florist, DJ, hair stylist and almost every other vendor we used. And we are 100% happy with all of it. Doranna, Hairstylist - fantastic. My mother, mother in law and myself had our hair styled by Doranna and we all loved it. She has an amazing reputation and it is well deserved. Very friendly, professional and has a great knowledge and passion for her work. Doranna had a partner come for makeup, Kalinda, who did my mothers makeup and my mom looked great. Natural and special... Kalinda made her feel like a million bucks and was really sweet to work with. DJ, Evolution Mix Audiovisuales - kept our guests dancing for 5 hours. Played all the songs we requested, my cocktail hour playlist, our special songs and more. They were really friendly and fun, had amazing props and also a projector, lasers, lights, bubble machine and smoke machine! We are still getting comments on how much fun the dance floor was. They were fantastic. Jardin Floreria for flowers. I posted a review in the vendor section complete with pictures. They were really affordable and we loved everything they provided. They even helped Erica decorate. Excellent service. Del Sol Photography - Juan and Debora. Every amazing thing about Del Sol has been said already! There is a reason they have such a great reputation and such a mass following. They are the best. Period. Juan and Debora showed up full of positive energy, inspired and dedicated to getting their perfect shots. They were fun and friendly and made us and all of our guests feel comfortable and motivated for great photos. We begged them to put their cameras down and stay at the end of their shift but they couldn't. That's my only complaint But seriously... they are the best. Book them. Now. Don't look back. Blue Venado, our venue. I posted a review in the review section. It was perfect for us. Food and drinks great, staff great, location and set up great. As you can see, we are really content with all of the choices we made... I wouldn't change a thing. These vendors came together and made wedding magic happen and we won't ever forget it.
